The evaluation of effectiveness of Strategic plan Local action group Krajina srdce

This thesis deals with the topic of strategic planning and rural development. The target of research was a Local Action Group Landscape of my Heart. The aim of the dissertation was to evaluate the efficiency of the Strategic plan LEADER for the period 2007-2013. The analytical section is divided into two parts. Through a qualitative research - a standardized observation of indicators of development potential of settlements - it was found, that the selected variables (especialy value of grants invested in the municipality) had a negligible effect on the aesthetic appearance of villages. The second part of the analysis was performed using a quantitative method. Analysis of the statistical indicators of development found no correlation with the above evaluation of these indicators for the chosen variables. The selected research methods didn't prove noticeable efficiency of the strategic plan LEADER.

The role of the civil sector in the local action group Podlipansko

The thesis focuses on the role of the civil sector in the local action group Podlipansko which operates in eastern part of the Central Bohemian region. Conceptual framework deals with the characteristics of civil society organizations, demarcation of countryside and its actors, further concept of social capital, partnership and local action groups. The method of the case study is applied in the practical part. Methods of data collection are triangulated. Data was collected by analysis of documents, surveys and semi-structured interviews focusing on civil society organizations. It is a case study of the 2014-2020 programming period. The aim of the thesis is to find out the role of civil society organizations in specific local action group. Using qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection it is found out how the cooperation looks like between civil society organizations and local action group from the perspective of involved organizations. Citizens in the area can participate in the Local Action Plan for the Development of Education, which is implemented by the Local Action Group Aktivios and participate in processes focused on improving the quality of education. The starting points of the work are theoretical concepts of civic participation and social capital, in the context of which the project Local Action Plan for the Development of Education is presented. In the research part of the thesis are presented data from interviews, there are presented questions how the involved citizens perceive the possibilities of civic participation, what they want to influence by their involvement and how are social ties and networks important for their work in the project. At the end are presented answers to the research questions and the theory with respect to the research results.

Typologie místních akčních skupin v České republice dle jejich území působnosti

This diploma thesis focuses on the creation typology of local action groups in the Czech Republic, based on their territory. Local action groups are introduced and described, using indicators in three topical areas (their size, residential structures, and working relationships in the region). The local action group is proved to be a functional region, utilising a simplified comparison with administrative divisions in the Czech Republic. To further create a typology of local action groups, cluster analysis is employed, which connects the three topical areas. It also creates clusters that show similar characteristics and approaches to the demarcation of territory. On the basis of the cluster analysis and using two lateral types, reasons and facors for the openness or closeness of relationships of the studied local action groups in the Czech Republic are indicated.

Diploma thesis deals with the role of Local Action Groups in rural development. The main objective of this work is to evaluate this role and contribution of LAGs operations in rural areas based on case study of LAG Vyškovsko, z. s. Analysis of region, supported projects from IV. Leader axis and evaluation of the survey found out that LAG Vyškovsko, z. s. contributes to the advancement of rural area and improves local quality of life. Its role in rural development is unquestionable. Whether that applies in other LAGs must be investigated by further analyses. The conclusion discusses the idea of a consistent methodology for evaluating activities of LAGs which has not yet been written up.

Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Local Action Groups in the Pilsen Region

Today's time period is renowned for a great percentage of people moving out from the cities to rural areas. One of many reasons is a better social and cultural environment of inhabitants. Local action groups (LAG), on which evaluation is focus in bachelor thesis, positively contribute to solving the stated issue. The main objectives are the evaluation and analysis of their activities in the matter of the Pilsen region. The theoretical part contains definitions of basic terms connected with the issues of local action groups on a national level. The identification of the local action groups in the range of the whole Czech Republic is focused on their reasons of commencement, legal terms regarded to them, history, and the possibilities for financing, a variety of activities and other characteristic features. Subsequently, the selected local action groups are analyzed as a major topic of this thesis. The practical part focuses on the evaluation which derives from nine local action groups located in the Pilsen region. The NS MAS evaluative scale is used for the evaluation. For the evaluation, certain indicators are selected like time for their establishment, amounts of members of the groups, financing, and other. Subsequently, a synthesis of the collected data, the very comparison, and evaluation of the effectiveness of functioning and benefits for the region is executed. Basic statistics is used to evaluate the outcomes and the outcomes are presented graphically. The conclusion of the thesis dedicates to strengths, weaknesses and other opportunities of operation of LAGs in the Pilsen region.
Strategy of community-led local development (2014-2020) SCLLD

The aim of the paper was the comparison of performance indicators of selected local action groups for the program period of 2007-2013. For the comparison, the Local Action Group Blatensko and the Local Action Group Strakonicko were selected. Both groups are located in South Bohemia and were suitable for comparison. The theoretical part is focused on the characteristics of the LEADER method, its principles, history and origin. Then the focus shifts on explaining terms such as local action group, their standards, community-led local development, evaluation and monitoring. In the practical part, selected performance indicators which are used to evaluate LAG activity were analyzed. The result of this work was evaluation and comparison of selected LAGs. According to the analyzes, we have concluded that LAG Strakonicko is more successful and more efficient. The reason is better processing of the strategic plan and the Strategic document LEADER 2007-2013 itself.
