Nonprofit sector and its Potential for Regional Development through Local action groups

The aim of the thesis is an analysis of the non-profit sector and its potential for regional development through the local action groups which is the Chance in Nature acting on the territory of South Bohemia. It is an evaluation of the 2007-2013 programming period. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to NGOs, social capital, partnership and regional development. The empirical part describes a region of the Local Action Group (LAG) and its functioning, further was examined the involvement of NGOs in the activities of the local action group considering a cooperation, partnership, submitting project applications and overall involvement in the activities of the LAG. Data were obtained by document analysis, interview surveys, and semi-structured interviews. NGO activity has been explored from the manager and LAG members' perspective and NGOs themselves.

It also moves on to the description of strategic materials for the fight against social exclusion, presents the Index of Socially Excluded Localities, which aims to continuously map the endangered locality of social exclusion from ongoing statistical data. The role of the civil sector in the local action group Podlipansko

The thesis focuses on the role of the civil sector in the local action group Podlipansko which operates in eastern part of the Central Bohemian region. Conceptual framework deals with the characteristics of civil society organizations, demarcation of countryside and its actors, further concept of social capital, partnership and local action groups. The method of the case study is applied in the practical part. Methods of data collection are triangulated. Data was collected by analysis of documents, surveys and semi-structured interviews focusing on civil society organizations. It is a case study of the 2014-2020 programming period. The aim of the thesis is to find out the role of civil society organizations in specific local action group. Using qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection it is found out how the cooperation looks like between civil society organizations and local action group from the perspective of involved organizations. Evaluation of the Effectiveness of Local Action Groups in the Pilsen Region

Today's time period is renowned for a great percentage of people moving out from the cities to rural areas. One of many reasons is a better social and cultural environment of inhabitants. Local action groups (LAG), on which evaluation is focus in bachelor thesis, positively contribute to solving the stated issue. The main objectives are the evaluation and analysis of their activities in the matter of the Pilsen region. The theoretical part contains definitions of basic terms connected with the issues of local action groups on a national level. The identification of the local action groups in the range of the whole Czech Republic is focused on their reasons of commencement, legal terms regarded to them, history, and the possibilities for financing, a variety of activities and other characteristic features. Subsequently, the selected local action groups are analyzed as a major topic of this thesis. The practical part focuses on the evaluation which derives from nine local action groups located in the Pilsen region. The NS MAS evaluative scale is used for the evaluation. For the evaluation, certain indicators are selected like time for their establishment, amounts of members of the groups, financing, and other. Subsequently, a synthesis of the collected data, the very comparison, and evaluation of the effectiveness of functioning and benefits for the region is executed. Basic statistics is used to evaluate the outcomes and the outcomes are presented graphically. The conclusion of the thesis dedicates to strengths, weaknesses and other opportunities of operation of LAGs in the Pilsen region.
Strategy of community-led local development (2014-2020) SCLLD

The aim of the paper was the comparison of performance indicators of selected local action groups for the program period of 2007-2013. For the comparison, the Local Action Group Blatensko and the Local Action Group Strakonicko were selected. Both groups are located in South Bohemia and were suitable for comparison. The theoretical part is focused on the characteristics of the LEADER method, its principles, history and origin. Then the focus shifts on explaining terms such as local action group, their standards, community-led local development, evaluation and monitoring. In the practical part, selected performance indicators which are used to evaluate LAG activity were analyzed. The result of this work was evaluation and comparison of selected LAGs. According to the analyzes, we have concluded that LAG Strakonicko is more successful and more efficient. The reason is better processing of the strategic plan and the Strategic document LEADER 2007-2013 itself.
Evaluation of the impacts of tourism projects in LAG Šumavsko

This diploma thesis aims at evaluating the impacts of specific tourism projects implemented in LAG Šumavsko. The main theme of the thesis is to focus on the achievement of the objectives of the projects, their subsequent sustainability, functionality, sense and their perception by the applicant and local citizens. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on defining basic concepts, terms and areas related to the evaluated projects. In the practical part of the work, attention is first focused on LAG Šumavsko, further there are described the resolved projects and their subsequent evaluation. The basis for the evaluation of the projects was the conducted interviews with the applicant and selected people from the public. Impact of interregional cooperation in the regional management - cases of successful LAGs

The aim of the diploma thesis is to analyse and evaluate the activities of the selected local action group (LAG) within the region. This paper does not evaluate only the current effectiveness of the LAG's work, but also its impact on regional development. The theoretical part focuses on regional policy, rural development policy, municipal cooperation and explains concepts such as LEADER method or local action group. The practical part describes both the basic characteristics of the LAG's functioning and outlines realized projects, explaining the principle and possibilities of financial support. Based on the questionnaire, the participation of municipalities in the area will be analysed. The answers of representatives of municipalities will outline the effectiveness of selected LAG and outline the impact of interregional cooperation. According to the findings and results, possible improvements will be proposed. The result of this work will be the analysis of the influence of regional cooperation of the selected LAG on the development of the region.
The partnership on examples of joint projects of the local action groups of the Pardubice region

The diploma thesis The partnership on examples of joint projects of the local action groups of the Pardubice region approaches one of the forms of cooperation in which decentralization of the decision-making power is at the level of local actors. The theoretical part focuses on rural areas, local rural development actors, the LEADER method, including Community-Led Local Development, partnerships and local action groups. Rural development groups are made up of representatives of public administration, local entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations and the public. Support is provided by the LEADER method, which works on the bottom-up principle. This method contributes to better targeting of support to rural areas to the well-defined local needs of the population. The practical part focuses on local action groups from the region with a focus on the period of 2007-2013 and the implementation of cooperation projects. The aim of the diploma thesis is to identify the attitudes of local development actors towards cooperation projects, to clarify the relations between groups of local events in the Pardubice Region, to evaluate their elementary cooperation and to identify the bottom-up application rate.
