Effect of compaction pressure to the electrochemical properties of the electrodes for Li-S accumulators
Jaššo, Kamil ; Tichý, Jiří (referee) ; Kazda, Tomáš (advisor)
The purpose of this diploma thesis is to describe the impact of compaction pressure on the electrochemical parameters of lithium-sulfur batteries. Theoretical part of this thesis contains briefly described terminology and general issues of batteries and their division. Every kind of battery is provided with a closer description of a specific battery type. A separate chapter is dedicated to lithium cells, mainly lithium-ion batteries. Considering various composition of lithium-ion batteries, this chapter deeply analyzes mostly used active materials of electrodes, used electrolytes and separators. Considering that the electrochemical principle of Li-S and Li-O batteries is different to Li-ion batteries, these accumulators of new generation are included in individual subhead. In the experimental part of this thesis are described methods used to measure electrochemical parameters of Li-S batteries. Next chapter contains description of preparing individual electrodes and their composition. Rest of the experimental part of my thesis is dedicated to the description of individual experiments and achieved results.
Design of a universal power bank with different output levels
Šálek, Karel ; Vyroubal, Petr (referee) ; Čech, Ondřej (advisor)
This thesis deals with the design of a power bank with different voltage levels. In the first part of the thesis the theoretical principles of lithium batteries, BMS systems and DC-DC converters are described. The second part of the thesis deals with the individual designs of power bank outputs and then their construction and testing in practice.
Electrodes for lithium-ions batteries based on LiCoO2
Nejedlý, Libor ; Čech, Ondřej (referee) ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
This master´s thesis deals with electrodes for lithium-ions batteries based on LiCoO2. The first part of the project is devoted to the characteristics of Li-ion batteries, electrochemical reactions and characteristics of electrode materials. The next part describes an experiment that deals with the effects of NA doping on performance of layered materials for lithium secondary batteries. The materials were measured by cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy and galvanostatic cycling.
Methods for the fast detection of water and degradation changes in lithium based electrolytes
Šimek, Antonín ; Čech, Ondřej
This paper deals with lithium-ion batteries, specifically the electrolytes used. The degradation mechanisms oflithium-ion batteries are addressed, with a focus on electrolytedegradation. A considerable part is then devoted to thedegradation of lithium hexafluorophosphate, especially afterexposure to water or moisture. The decomposition of the lithiumsalt is linked to the evolution of hydrofluoric acid, whose influenceon the electrolyte parameters and methods of fast detection is thesubject of the experimental section.
Current state of lithium-ion batteries recycling (SS02030008-V13)
Kameníková, Petra ; Šyc, Michal
The production of lithium-ion batteries has been increasing every year since their introduction to the market in the 1990s, initially for use in portable devices such as cameras, mobile phones, tablets, etc. In recent years, demand has continued to grow driven by the development of electromobility. Batteries contain a number of valuable components that should be recycled at the end of the battery's lifetime. This report summarises available information on the composition of different types of batteries and methods for their recycling.

Comparison of different types of commercial lithium-ion batteries
Šindelářová, Anna ; Kazda, Tomáš (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
The master's thesis is devoted to the comparison of different types of lithium-ion batteries. Primarily, an introduction to electrochemical power sources and their division is described. Furthermore, the thesis deals only with lithium-ion batteries. In the theoretical part, the chapters discuss the history, the principle of operation and a detailed description of the main battery parts, including used materials. A comparison of commercially available lithium-ion cells with each other as well as with other types of batteries is also included in the theoretical part. The practical part deals with the cyclinf of lithium-ion cells and subsequent evaluation of the effect of temperature on the capacitance and current characteristics of these lithium-ion batteries.
Electrochemical Properties Of Lithium-Ion Battery Under Elevated Temperature
Kulíková, Barbora
This article presents a topic of the elevated temperature influence on lithium-ion accumulators. The theoretical part of the paper focuses on the basic principles of lithium-ion batteries, their advantages and influence of the temperature on their functionality. The experimental part deals with three different experiments comparing measured and manufacturers’ parameters, and examining the influence of the temperature and current on a capacity along with charging and discharging characteristics.
Study of electrode materials for post-lithium ion systems
Kekelák, Miroslav ; Jaššo, Kamil (referee) ; Kazda, Tomáš (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with studying electrode materials for post-lithium ion systems. The theoretical part describes the principle, history and construction of lithium-ion battery cells. A separate chapter is dedicated to the materials of positive and negative electrodes for lithium-ion batteries. The third chapter is dedicated to the principles of new generation lithium-air and sodium-ion batteries. The last chapter of theoretical part is dedicated to lithium-sulfur batteries, which describes their principle, history, used electrode materials and the influence of binders. The experimental part is dedicated to the preparation of the electrode material of lithium-sulfur accumulator in combination with water-soluble binders and their measurement using electrochemical methods.
