MPPT driver for small UAV
Košút, Martin ; Záplata, Filip (referee) ; Kubíček, Michal (advisor)
This thesis describes a design of a maximum power peak tracking controller for a solar cell array embedded on a wing of a UAV. Solar cells are used to both cover part of the UAV power consumption and (at suitable conditions) to charge onboard battery. As the UAV changes its position and attitude to the sun relatively fast, the lighting conditions on the solar cells change rapidly. Thus, it is necessary to implement a fast maximum power peak tracking regulator to ensure maximum efficiency of the system. The proposed design is based on commercial offtheshelf components. The implemented DC/DC converter, which represents the core of the regulator, is a combination of a stepup and a stepdown converter. Weight, dimensions end overall efficiency were the key optimization parameters of the design.

Study of the influence of separator modification on the properties of Li-S batteries
Řehák, Petr ; Jaššo, Kamil (referee) ; Kazda, Tomáš (advisor)
This thesis deals with the development and current issues of Li-ion and Li-S accumulators, especially the separators. In the theoretical part is described history of Li-ion batteries, their properties and materials for the positive electrode. Li-S batteries and their problems are also described in this diploma thesis. In the practical part, electrochemical methods were described, and several separator samples with various modifications were created. These samples were then photographed using an SEM electron microscope and evaluated using electrochemical methods.

Numerical model of Li-Ion battery temperature field by discharging
Novotný, Jakub ; Bílek, Michal (referee) ; Vyroubal, Petr (advisor)
This work is focused on lithium-ion batteries in general and their modeling capabilities in ANSYS Fluent. The various advantages and disadvantages of li-ion batteries are describes in my work. There are also described the various models and submodels offered by ANSYS Fluent. An essential part of the work is to model the real battery and compare the results between the real battery and the simulation itself. Finally, simulation of battery breakdown is performed.
Recovery Of Anode Material From Lithium Ion Batteries
Báňa, Jiří ; Kazda, Tomáš
As the production of lithium-ion batteries (LIB) is growingat a meteoric pace with the advent of electromobility. There willbe a need for efficient use of recycling processes, which nowfocus mainly on selected metals. Direct recycling is a methodwith great potential due to its simplicity, ecological friendliness, and high efficiency. However, this method needs to be improvedand put into practical use. In this paper, it is focused thesimulation of LIB aging, composition analysis and then recoveryof the anode material of Motoma LFP 18650 and PanasonicNCR18650B batteries.
History of EVs and measuring battery under external force.
Šedina, M. ; Kazda, T.
This article describes the modern history of electromobility with the prediction of its market growth and the drivers of change. There are mentioned Li-ion battery's anode materials with their basic parameters and one of the conversion materials, silicon, which represent one of the possible materials for enhancing the capacity of the anode. Usage of the Si opens a few problems which are unnoticeable with actual anode materials, but there are some possible ways how to solve them. One of their solutions could be external force applied on the battery surface, which should reduce inflation of the battery and improve internal conduction.
Multiscale Modelling of Li-Ion Battery Volume Expansion
Mačák, M. ; Vyroubal, P.
Mechanical characteristics of Li-ion batteries play an important part in the design of electric devices or energy storage systems. Proper mechanical design can increase the safety and the longevity of devices. Apart from external forces, Li-ion batteries also experience internal volume changes due to inherent physical processes, especially volume changes caused by intercalation and deintercalation of lithium ions into electrode materials. Currently, these changes are mainly studied experimentally using complex methods, while numerical simulations of these processes are surprisingly rare. This works presents different numerical approaches for studying internal volume changes in Li-ion batteries. The results show that it is possible to study volume changes at different length scales, but it is necessary to apply a suitable simplification of the model to obtain macroscopic deformation.
Recovery Of Cathode Material From Li-Ion Batteries
Guricová, Patrícia
This article focuses on the possibilities of recycling materials from spent Li-ion batteries, especially on direct recycling. Lithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are gradually replacing other types ofaccumulators from practical applications and further increase in their production is expected in thefuture. With high production, bigger amount of waste will have to be deal with. Recycling processescurrently in use are not efficient enough and they have been developed mainly for one type ofcathode material. Direct recycling is very promising in terms of efficiency, but it needs to be furtherenhanced. Direct recycling technology is discussed in the text as well as the recovery processfor commercial Samsung 18650B-20R aged cell using different kinds of solvents.
