Decision-making processes in the political sphere attract the attention not just by the experts, but also by wide and laic community. An analysis of expression- and content-oriented passages of the Torah: Texts of the Torah in the semiotic perspective of Charles S. Peirce, Yuri Lotman and Umberto Eco
Jezný, Samuel ; Sláma, Petr (advisor) ; Rückl, Jan (referee)
An analysis of expression- and content-oriented passages of the Torah: Texts of the Torah in the semiotic perspective of Charles S. Peirce, Yuri Lotman and Umberto Eco The aim of the presented thesis is to introduce the basic semiotic concepts of Charles Sanders Peirce, Yuri M. Lotman and Umberto Eco. These ideas should be beneficial for the interpretation of the Bible in the Czech republic and Slovakia: particularly in the Old Testament area. The thesis also proposes a new classification of the Torah's texts, and so identify, which functions could be subserved by the particular text. Finally, we intend to draft a new, slightly different model of exegesis, which could help us find new interesting interpretations of the Old Testament texts. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
Multimedia Grid
Šimko, Viliam
The thesis describes the possibilities and issues of existing videoconferencing systems. We focus on open-source solutions for group-to-group communication especially the AccessGrid technology that utilizes the multicast packet delivery method of multimedia content. We describe AccessGrid node created for CIANT organization, which has been taken as a starting point for defining the architecture of a videoconferencing system based exclusively on open-source components, particularly Linux and related software. We address issues related to firewalls and NAT traversal and provide a comparison of various videoconference-related codecs and protocols. Finally, the text touches the question of recording and archiving of conference sessions and provides a new integrated recording application -- StreamVNC. The tool allows users to prepare their presentations using localhost recording facility which includes AGVCR for recoding RTP packets, EVIC for grabbing the VNC display and camera source and RAT as an audio encoder.
Server for Collecting Sensor Data and Control of Active Elements
Halaj, Jozef ; Hujňák, Ondřej (referee) ; Viktorin, Jan (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis aims on communication with remote sensors and active elements in the smart home system called BeeeOn. The individual parts of the BeeeOn system are described with respect to the current insufficient communication principle and implementation. For communication with BeeeOn gateways, the WebSocket technology is used. It allows communication on netwoks with a restricted access to privileged ports. The implemented server is in principle capable of serving a high number of BeeeOn gateways that works as a bridge among the server and the remote sensors. The communication is secured with SSL/TLS, it uses confirmation mechanism to guarantee reliability and it is easily extendable by other protocol messages. It enables the system to send asynchronous commands to the BeeeOn gateway and to the connected devices. The server is implemented in C++ language. The most common communication scenarios were tested by automated tests.
Cyberpropaganda and its Communication Models
Gladiš, Michal ; Marcelli, Miroslav (advisor) ; Mucha, Ivan (referee)
Cyberpropaganda and its Communication Models In this thesis, communication models representing the functioning of communication in a network of social interactions are analyzed. Understanding the communication of new media can contribute to understanding the processes that take place in cyberspace. The aim of this thesis is to decipher the forms of propaganda that operate in it. This work can contribute to the understanding of several forms of current social events, such as public relations, influencing public opinion or political struggle, which have significantly moved into cyberspace. The presentation of cyberspace and new media from several perspectives, together with the complex characterization of the communication that takes place in them, creates its overall image, in which the thesis reveals possible penetrations of propaganda tendencies of targeted manipulation with its members. In this thesis, cyberpropaganda is approached from several points of view. It is about updating propaganda models from the mass media to the emergence of new forms, techniques and tools that have enabled the new media. The starting point of this research is to clarify the complexity of communication, which is not shaped exclusively by its new technical aspects, but is to some extent a continuation of its previous...
