Influence of the US Foreign Policy on Syria Conflict

This bachelor thesis deals with american foreign policy in the Middle East, specifically how it reflects on the civil war in Syria. For the United States the Middle East region represents one of the most strategically important areas in the world since the end of World War II with their main interests being security of one of their main allies, Israel, and also access to rich middle eastern oil reserves. Destabilization of the region caused by the civil war in Syria of course presents a risk for these american interests. The rise of radical islamic terrorist organization called the Islamic State (IS) as one of its actors, became a pretext for the US entry into the conflict. Although the United States do not participate directly in Syrian civil war, have an impact on its development through support for certain organizations, military intervention in Iraq and other policy instruments. The thesis analyzes the ways in which American policy has affected the development of the conflict in Syria without entering it directly . The main questions the thesis answers are: To what extent US foreign policy in the region affects the course of the Syrian conflict? How is the US involved in the conflict and what political or other tools they use? How did the participation of the United States in the conflict...
Electronic books at VŠE

The master dissertation Electronic books at VSE is focused on analysing the opportunities of e-books in the environment of VSE. The aim is to describe the current state of different study materials used at VSE and to explore different ways of improving them using e-book technology. The dissertation briefly describes various attributes of e-books with stress on the relevant attributes -- the possibility of inserting notes, bookmarks, multimedia and interactive content. Also the possibility of editing the content and sharing resulting changes with other students is a key attribute. The dissertation then moves on to describe the different kinds of study materials that are in use at VSE. The second half of the dissertation builds on previous analysis of the study materials and introduces a hypothetical optimal state, which could result from implementing e-book technology. This state is the answers the question of what is actually possible to achieve. The next chapter in this half is the technical analysis, which answers the question of how is it possible to achieve the suggested hypothetical state. The conclusion of this dissertation answers the questions whether the proposed solution is a viable candidate for implementation. The results of this dissertation could be used as a guideline for the project of implementation of e-book technology in the environment of VSE.
The analysis of further development of study information system of University of Economics in Prague

The master thesis focuses on the study information systems used in Czech universities. The biggest part concerns the development of information system used in the University of Economics Prague. The goal of this thesis is to propose a way of a new development of this system, based on the analysis of other systems and to support it with the opinions of a representative sample of University of Economics students. The thesis itself is divided into 3 main parts. The first part shows the 4 most used study systems. Each system is analyzed from different viewpoints and its specifics are stressed. The analysis are made from interviews of the system developers and also web presentations of each subject. Each application solutions are compared with each other. The second part is devoted to the development of the information system of the University of Economics Prague. The author of this thesis expresses his opinion of the information system and proposes a recommendation concerning new functions and possibilities. The proposals are based on the experiences of other students of study information systems, or of the developer himself. All proposals are now in the third part introduced through the questionnaire to students of all other faculties of University of Economics Prague, where they themselves can express their opinions to proposed innovations or to the system in general. The results of the questionnaire are interpreted both in words and graphically.
Study Information Systems at Selected Universities

The aim of the thesis is to analyze and compare study information systems of four selected universities in the Czech Republic (University of Economics in Prague, Masaryk University in Brno, Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem and Technical University in Liberec) are made from a student's point of view. Important components of the systems, which students needs all the time will be compared in the thesis. One part of the thesis is dedicated to interesting possibilities in the various information systems. The main contributin of the thesis lies in introducing individual components of the information systems, their mutual comparison and the way of their usage. There will be an analysis of their weaknesses and outline of their future development of the information system.
Study Information Systems at Selected Universities – Comparison from the Student Perspective

This Bachelor Thesis concerns the comparison of study information systems at selected universities and colleges. The system analysis processing and subsequent comparison are made from a student's point of view. The aim of the Thesis is to find out in which way the particular information systems can solve problems connected with administration and control of students' duties. The analysed systems are compared and evaluated on the basis of the author's opinions as well as the opinions of the survey responders. The results of the systems evaluation are used to formulate recommendations for the functionality of the University of Economics system. The Thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part deals with the systems analysis where the individual functions are examined and mutually compared. The analysis is effectuated according to selected criterions (basic functions, communication functions, user interface). The second part of the Thesis focuses on a survey which contains opinions of students from all the participating schools. Final results of the comparison are presented both verbally and graphically.
Application for work simplification of the study officer in entrance exams

This bachelor thesis describes the realization of development of application, which extends the functionality of Integrated study information system on the University of economics in Prague. First part of this thesis is mainly focused on the analytical part of the application. Main topic is the work, practice and experience of a study officer in entrance exams. This part is also focused on the specification of input and output data. And these specifications are used to describe the new functionality requirements of the application. Second part is mainly about the development of the application. The development is seen and described from it experts point of view and also from users point of view. Each algorithm, procedure and function is explained and the solution of problems is well covered. In the users point of view part there is a simple user guide about how to use this application.
Analysis of Integrated Study Information System from the student perspective

The bachelor thesis analyzes the integrated study information system used by the University of Economics in Prague. The analysis focuses on the student's perspective. Author of the thesis first approaches the history of the information system and it's implementation, he will also describe the changes brought by the new system. The main objective is to outline the subjective opinion of one of the students on the entire information system, describe the most important functionality of the system, and to propose new solutions and point out errors or defects that were found in the analysis. Author uses his knowledge acquired at school or in real life.A questionnaire is attached to the whole thesis, in which the author asks about the opinions of other students from all six faculties of the University. The results of this questionnaire are interpreted both verbally and in graphic view.
Usability principles of web applications with focus on VŠE

The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the current version of the Integrated Study Information System at the University of Economics with focus on usability. An improved solution is suggested based on latest development in the field. The theoretical part contains selected approaches to redesign of web application. The resulting solution is in a form of redesigned key parts of the information system common to most functions in the student related section. Wireframes and static website mockups are used in order to illustrate the suggested solutions.
Analysis of Integrated Study Information System from perspective of particular roles of pedagogic employees

This entire bachelor thesis analyzes Integrated Study Information System used at the University of Economics in Prague. It is analysis of system interface from pedagogic employees' point of view and it is not intended to be complex analysis of the entire system. The first part of thesis concerns about situation on the University of Economics in Prague before implementation of present ISIS and consequently describes events leading to its implementation. Middle part describes user interface in dependence on assigned pedagogic roles. The final part of this thesis contains description and results of questionnaire which was sent to all pedagogic employees of Faculty of Informatics and Statistics. In dependence on answers it describes main suggestions of pedagogues on functionality of ISIS. This part of the thesis also contains problems which has teachers with using of ISIS from Department of Mathematic.
Harmonisation of Identification Card Management Systems at the University of Economics, Prague

This thesis deals with problems of identification cards at the University of Economics, Prague. Its primary goal is to consider and evaluate the possibility of a transfer of the ID card management into the ISIS system. The thesis consists of four parts. The first one offers a complex analysis of the ID card management at the University. The second one analyses two ID card management systems: the NESA system, which is being used at the University now, and the ISIS system, which could also be used for the ID card management. The third part includes a proposal of adjustments in the ISIS system, which would make its ID card management implementation comply with the University's needs. The proposal describes general features of the system, relations to its environs and a graphical user interface. Finally the last part covers the actual state of the project and its differences from the proposal offered in the thesis. Information sources for the thesis were legal norms, University regulations and internal documents as well as the author's knowledge and experience gained through several years of the NESA system maintenance and numerous consultations with the University ID card management staff and ISIS developers. The main assets of this thesis lay in the comprehensive view of the ID card management at the University along with the proposal of the new ID card management system, which is to be integrated into ISIS.
