Comparison 3M subsidiaries in the Czech and Slovak through quantitative methodologies intercultural Globe with applications of marketing management

The goal of this thesis is cross-cultural comparation of Czech and Slovak subsidiary of 3M Company. It will be reached through GLOBE study in comparison with Geert Hofstede method and its five main cultural dimensions. Questionnaire research will be conducted for achieving this goal ( according to original questionnaire of GLOBE study) among employees of mentioned subsidiaries in Prague and Bratislava. Findings of this research method will be used for explanation of cultural differences (should there be any) between 3M Cesko and 3M Slovensko. Also these findings will proof wheter or not is possible to apply the same marketing management in both countries.
České kulturní standardy z vietnamské perspektivy v pracovním a studijním prostředí

This Bachelor Thesis is focused on the Czech cultural standards from the perspectives of both Vietnamese workers and students living in the Czech Republic. The Theoretical Part begins with defining culture, the cultural dimensions according to the two authors Geert Hofstede and Fons Trompenaars, and the cultural standards of Alexander Thomas. Then it describes possible problems and conflicts that may occur when different cultures clash. Lastly, information about both Vietnam and the Czech Republic was provided. This information consists of geography, economy, political system, history, customs, beliefs, and the people of each respective country. In the Practical Part, 24 respondents from work and study environments were selected to participate in qualitative interviews, where they provide answers to questions based on the previously mentioned cultural dimensions. The results from the interviews were analyzed to define the Czech cultural standards as observed by the Vietnamese workers and students. In the end 10 recommendations were listed to help Vietnamese people improve their interaction with their Czech peers.
Vietnamsko-české a česko-vietnamské kulturní standardy v obchodních jednání

The primary focus of this bachelor thesis is to reveal cultural standards that exist in the eyes of Czechs who have had a working experience with the Vietnamese and in the eyes of Vietnamese who have had a working experience with Czechs. First the thesis starts off with a definition of culture alone cultural dimensions according to Geert Hofstede Fons Trompenaars and Edward T. Hall and lastly cultural standards according to Alexander Thomas are covered. The explanation of geographical and historical aspects which influenced the Czech culture and both geographical and historical aspects which influenced the Vietnamese culture is following. Furthermore the history of the Czech Vietnamese relations as well as the development of this relationship is described. Afterwards there is a description of the five Vietnamese cultural standards derived from the interviews conducted with the Czechs and three Czech cultural standards derived from interviews conducted with the Vietnamese. The thesis concludes with suggestions for smoother communication and interaction between people from the two different countries and cultures.
Italian cultural standards from Czech and Slovak perspective and their comparison

The aim of this thesis is to identify and more closely analyse Italian cultural standards, specifically from the perspective of Czechs and Slovaks, who came to a closer and more extended contact with the Italian culture. Identification of these standards was based on in-depth personal interviews and the theoretical part of this thesis. This part is focused on terms such as culture, intercultural communication, culture shock, cultural dimensions and standards. The practical part of this work is dedicated to the research itself and its evaluation as well as Italy per se, its history, culture, economy or demography. This work can also serve anyone in closer personal of professional contact with this culture.
Czech-Canadian and Canadian-Czech cultural standards from the exchange student's perspective

The aim of the thesis is to identify and evaluate Czech cultural standards from the perspective of Canadian exchange students and Canadian cultural standards from the perspective of Czech exchange students, using the method of cultural standards, which is based on qualitative research through in-depth interviews form. Individual goals of the thesis include comparison of the results with theoretical research and analysis of historical and socio-economic impacts on Canadian culture. In conclusion, the author proposes recommendations for the Czechs and especially the future Czech students who plan to study in Canada.
Czech-Indian and Indian-Czech cultural standards in the workplace

Nowadays, most of the countries in the world are getting more and more dependent on each other, both politically and economically. Along with that, cultural clash comes inevitably influencing are private lives and working environment. Multinational companies get the opportunity of using the potential of diverse cultural environment which is challenging the managers, and other employees, to increase their competencies. The goal of this thesis is to identify the Indian cultural standards from the Czech point of view and the Czech ones from the Indian point of view. The theory of the thesis is based on cultural models by Geert Hofstede and Fons Trompenaars. The cultural standards are being identified by using the method of critical incidents where the selected respondents are being interviewed. The thesis analyses at which aspects the two examined cultures differ the most and how it influences the working environment and performance. The research results are compared to other theoretical models and the thesis provides recommendations on how to work with the identified standards in order to make the Indian-Czech cooperation as efficient as possible.
The business and cultural specifics of Saudi Arabia

This bachelor thesis deals with the business and cultural specifics of Saudi Arabia. The main objective of my bachelor thesis is to characterize economic, cultural and business aspects of Saudi Arabia. The first chapter is devoted to the basic characteristics of Saudi Arabia, specifically to geographic conditions, demographic data, political system, legal system of the country, national emblems, membership in major international organizations and practical information. In the second chapter I deal with the economic characteristics of Saudi Arabia. It includes an analysis of the basic macroeconomic indicators and economic sectors. This part of the thesis also focuses on Saudi Arabia's foreign trade, including the trade with the Czech Republic. The third chapter is devoted to the culture of Saudi Arabia, its most significant features and business negotiations. It also includes the cultural dimensions by Geert Hofstede, the Islamic religion, the way of life and the position of women in the Arab world. The fourth chapter contains the interviews with the representatives of the Czech companies, which have already entered the Saudi Arabian market.
Česko-skotské kulturní standardy v pracovním prostředí

This diploma thesis is focused on Czech-Scottish cultural standards at work environment. The main aim is to define Scottish cultural standards at work environment from the Czech point of view and to compare them with the theory. The thesis begins with the definition of culture, cultural dimensions introduced by G. Hofstede, F. Trompenaars and E. T. Hall and cultural standards by A. Thomas. It continues to the description of Scotland with its geography, history, language, economic situation and various systems in the society, such as the legal system, educational system, health care system, a role of the family and religion. Further, Scottish national identity, key values and traditions are identified and there are added some information about work in Scotland. The thesis then leads us onwards to the determination of eight cultural standards at work environment and six cultural standards connected with the daily life in Scotland based on the qualitative research. The standards concerning work environment are further compared with the theory. At the end of the thesis, there are provided some recommendations for Czechs who are going to work with Scots.
Business and cultural specifics of Albania

The aim of this Bachelor's thesis is to explain the specifics of Albania in the business and cultural area, also helpful for business and tourism. The first chapter introduces Albania as a country located in Southeastern Europe, on the Balkan Peninsula. This chapter mentions its natural conditions, history, and population. Also important is the knowledge of the economic situation of the country, religion, and individual economic sectors. The second chapter analyzes the foreign trade of Albania, its major trading partners, Albania's membership in international organizations, and the question of entry into the EU. The chapter also deals with mutual relations between the Czech Republic and Albania. Following this chapter is a subchapter with a questionnaire survey conducted among companies in the Czech Republic. The aim of the investigation was to determine whether the companies are aware of Albania, or are interested in business cooperation. The third and final chapter discusses the Albanian culture and its impact on business. Finally, the darker sides of this country are mentioned, including organized crime and child labour.
Culture specifics of Taiwan

This bachelor thesis describes business and culture specifics of Taiwan and compares them with other cultures, especially with Czech culture. The aim of this thesis is to align Taiwanese culture with western one, show the culture differences and make business meetings with Taiwan easier. Research task analyses culture differences between Taiwan and Czech Republic, because they are crucial for the cultivation of Czech-Taiwanese business cooperation. First chapter presents basic characteristics of Taiwan, the second one focuses on international trade of Taiwan, mainly with Czech Republic. Following chapter describes culture specifics that were defined by G. Hofstede and there are also mentioned in the context of business dealing. In the end, this thesis provides my own experience that I gained in Taiwan. The thesis offers basic overview of Taiwanese culture with stress on culture differences and its influence on business dealing.
