Evaluation of electrical axis of the heart
Temelová, Kristýna ; Vítek, Martin (referee) ; Janoušek, Oto (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis describes the issue of electrocardiography focusing on the methodology of automatic evaluation of heart's electrical axis. Part of this work is a description of an application created in Matlab which enables to plot the tilt of the cardiac axis. The cardiac axis is evaluated in terms of its dependence on the examined person's position. This bachelor's thesis includes a database of ECG signals of twelve volunteers measured in various positions (supine, sitting, tilted), obtained using the Biopac system, accompanied by video documentation. The created application serves both the data analysis from the database and other experimental signals. A guide for students performing practical exercises is included.
Automatic delineation of ECG signals
Tiurina, Mariia ; Kozumplík, Jiří (referee) ; Vítek, Martin (advisor)
This semester’s thesis deals about delineation ECG signals. Semester work consists of two parts. The theoretical part provides a brief introduction to the principles of electrocardiography, sensing methods electrocardiography recording and description of some well-known methods for seasons auto electrocardiographic signals. The practical part is a program that is implemented in programming environment Matlab and the results of its testing twelve lead signals from the CSE database. Using statistical methods, the results are compared with the results of the listed authors methods
Relationship between breath and electrocardiogram
Hamerský, Jan ; Janoušek, Oto (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
The main goal of this thesis is to familiarize readers with the problem of influence on the cardiac cycle. Thesis analyzes necessary concepts to understand electrophysiology of heart, mechanisms affecting heart beats, respiratory identifides methods for detection of respiratory frequency presents in electrocardiogram, proposes own measurement protocol of the influence of respiratory rate on electrcardiogram, implements detection of respiratory rate of the measured records, compares the measured results
Frequency of ECG signals
Jordánová, Ivana ; Ronzhina, Marina (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with measuring and description of ECG signal of the human body and frequency analysis of EG of isolated rabbit hearts. It describes the physiological structure of heart with subsequent measuring and processing of the electrical activity. The goal was to process gathered signals data in MATLAB and to use frequency analysis with evaluation.
The principles of software QRS detection
Mosyurchak, Andriy ; Smital, Lukáš (referee) ; Vítek, Martin (advisor)
The aim of this project is to introduce the methods of software detection in ECG signals. This thesis includes description of electrocardiogram signal and the main components of the ECG. The following describes the basic methods of QRS complexes detection. In this thesis are realized three methods of QRS detection: Pan-Tompkins algorithm, method based on counting zero crossings and technique using adaptive quantized threshold. Methods are realized by program MATLAB and then tested on CSE database.
Use of higher-order cumulants for ECG analysis
Maršánová, Lucie ; Janoušek, Oto (referee) ; Ronzhina, Marina (advisor)
This work deals with using higher order cumulants for analysis ECG. In the first part of work is described principle of electrocardiography, followed by matemathical derivation of higher order cumulants, description of their properties and their use in current practice. In the next part of paper is described caltulation higher order statistic of ECG beats in Matlab programming environment. In the practical part of work are tested predicted properties. Distinctive properties are minimalization of amplitude and time shift and Gaussian noise. This properties of higher order cumulants enable lesser variance of beats in one class and easier clasification ECG. Calculation of cumulants from real ECG beats of various groups is then realized. Classification based on the original ECG cycles and cumulants is performed using artificial neural network. Results of these classification approaches are then compared and discussed.
Measurement of cardiovascular parameters
Kratochvíla, Jiří ; Čmiel, Vratislav (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor’s thesis is to get acquainted with the measurement of cardiovascular parameters, to realize the measurment of these parameters, to analyze them, show the statistic procedure of verifying hypotheses in this spere and finally the presentation of measured data including automatical detection of the heart rate from ECG signal in created program in Guide of Matlab system. On the basis of the theory was done the measurment on own suggestion with the Biopac system and with the quicksilver tonomether. The parameters, that were measured on the group of five people: ECG, blood pressure and the pulse frequency before and after the load. After the data processing was done the statistic analysis, the aim of this analysis was to show the procedure of verifying hypothesis, if and how are these measured parameters of cardiovascular system changing. After that the measured data were transported into Matlab system. The presentation of measured data (created program) contains the time domain and spectral analyses (using Fourier transform) of ECG signal, automatical detection of the heart rate from ECG signal, analysis of the heart rate variability (HRV) – tachogram together with detailed analysis of HRV spectra (spectra of heart rate variability – relating with parasympathetic and sympathetic activity), that are using in clinical practice too, just as the other measured parametres of the cardiovascular system.
ECG quality evaluation
Vencel, Michal ; Vítek, Martin (referee) ; Smital, Lukáš (advisor)
This seminar work deals with the topic of evaluating the quality of ECG signals. The introductory chapters explain the basic characteristics of ECG signals - measurement, the form of the measured signal, methods of analysis. The cardiac physiology and pathology is presented. The most common types of noise that occur in ECG signals are also mentioned. Further, the reader is acquainted with the importance of the issue of evaluating the quality of ECG signals. In the practical part of the work, two own methods for ECG quality evaluation are presented. First, a brief theoretical introduction to the techniques used in the creation of methoda is given, followed by a description of the principle of algorithms. In order to compare the functionality of the proposed methods, three more methods from other authors are presented. Their principle is briefly described. In the final chapter, all methods are subjected to functionality testing. The results are examined and all methods are compared with each other.
Suppression of power-line interference in ECG signals
Gregorová, Kateřina ; Vítek, Martin (referee) ; Kozumplík, Jiří (advisor)
This work includes an overview of the different methods of filtering of ECG signals that suppress the network interference. It focuses on the parameters that affect the quality of filtration for the three main groups of filters: FIR, IIR and adaptive filters. The main objective is to evaluate proposed methods in terms of the quality of filtration. This quality is rated an average output SNR, standard deviation and time filtering. The criteria of success is based on the filtration of the basic requirements on digital filters. Design of filter is realized in the Matlab programming environment.
Breathing Rate Estimation from the Electrocardiogram and Photoplethysmogram
Janáková, Jaroslava ; Smital, Lukáš (referee) ; Kozumplík, Jiří (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the issue of gaining the respiratory rate from ECG and PPG signals, which are not only in clinical practice widely used measurable signals. The theoretical part of the work outlines the issue of obtaining a breath curve from these signals. The practical part of the work is focused on the implementation of five selected methods and their final evaluation and comparison.
