Power Line Communication for Home Automation Applications
Hromádka, Michal ; Štohl, Radek (referee) ; Fiedler, Petr (advisor)
This thesis describes the design of a modem for a communication over residential power lines. First part is focused on the history, suitable frequency bands, modulation techniques and mainly on the selection of the optimal modem device. Second section contains the description of the hardware design of the modem itself and clarifies the implementation of the PLC module to be used as a communication interface for a full residential automation solution. Last chapters of this thesis introduce the communication protocol, design of the software for the ATmega32 MCU and present of the final field testing under real conditions.
Narroband PLC model
Sekot, Karel ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Mišurec, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis is focused on data communication utilizing low-voltage power distribution lines (PLC). It describes interference in narrowband systems commonly used for remote data collecting, for example. Preamble deals with basic priciples of PLC (signal injecting) and describes the measuring workplace, its wiring and used tools. Following sections define different types and possible sources of interference, operation of the equipment in terms of EMC and other characteristics of the transmission path. The text also analyzes practical interference tests, identifies main parameters affecting data transmision and compares teoretical and practical conclusions.
The realization of the data communication for application to the mobile networks
Sodomka, Lukáš ; Růčka, Lukáš (referee) ; Jelínek, Mojmír (advisor)
Thesis deals with data technology, which can be used for communication between mobile and IP networks. The aim of the project is to design data communication and the subsequent implementation of the mobile and IP networks. First of all, it made an introduction to telecommunications systems with focus on GSM. Subsequently, the work examines data provided by GSM technology standard with a focus on GPRS, which is in the other chapters discusses in more detail. The resulting communication application protocol is designed in two versions, which is achieved by the creation of an autonomous system. Communication is implemented using JAVA programming language, which created an application client, server and implemented application protocol. Client application is tested on a mobile phone with Internet connection with support for GPRS technology. Server application is installed on a PC workstation, which is assigned a public IP address, it is easily addressable from the Internet.
