Analysis of erosion and runoff conditions in a selected catchment areas
Pavliš, Jaroslav ; Uhrová,, Jana (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
The subjekt of this Bachelor thes is was to develop ananalytic alanalysis of erosion and run off conditions in certain sub-basins. The analysis is performed in the area of interest, which consist soft he cadastral areas of Lubná u Poličky, Sebranice u Litomyšle, Kamenec u Poličky, Polička (Střítež), Lezník and Široký Důl. Erosion run off and run off conditions were analyzed on the basis of a total of 16 variants including the use off ivecomputational algorithms for factor L and S, culent state, chmate chase affecting factor R and K, and variol agrotechnical and organizational measures affecting factor ca P. For presentation of map and computational The ArcGIS program was used for the results of erosion and the Desq program was used for run off conditions, where the mutual data processing was enabled by the USLE 2D program. These results can then determine possible protective anti-erosion measures against property damage, which would be part of a comprehensive landscaping.
Study of the cooling system of a building with regard to climate change in the Czech Republic
Vašulka, Tomáš ; Charvát, Pavel (referee) ; Fišer, Jan (advisor)
The diploma thesis aims to prepare a study of the cooling system of a multifunctional building with regard to climate change predicted until the middle of the 21st century. The work includes determining the heat load of refrigerated rooms and designing measures to reduce heat gains in the summer. Diploma thesis includes design of a cooling system with fan-coil units as end appliances with the necessary hydraulic calculations. A single-stage absorption cooling unit is used as the considered cooling source, to which a free cooling heat exchanger is assigned. The design of the cooling source includes the necessary hydraulic calculations and dimensioning of the system ensuring its functional operation. Part of the diploma thesis is drawing documentation of cooling technology and connection of fan-coil units.
Engineering solutions for mitigation of climate change - methods for elimination of greenhouse gases from the atmosphere
Lněničková, Veronika ; Elcner, Jakub (referee) ; Lízal, František (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with methods of eliminating greenhouse gases, their advantages and disadvantages and the costs associated with their applications. The first part of this thesis describes the scientific field of geoengineering dealing with the removal of carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. The second part is focused on methods of solar radiation management and finally, methods eliminating other greenhouse gases than carbon dioxide are described.
Engineering solutions for mitigation of climate change - methods applicable at the source of greenhouse gases
Remeková, Valentína ; Jedelský, Jan (referee) ; Lízal, František (advisor)
This work aimed to produce a research study on the topic of engineering solutions designed to mitigate climate change and which are applicable at the source of greenhouse gases. The first part outlines the fundamental matters of climate change. The second part focuses on technologies CCS (Carbon capture and storage) which capture and sequester carbon dioxide and possible options for separating CO2 from flue gases. The third chapter describes technologies CCU (Carbon capture and utilization) that use captured carbon as a product for further use. The future of these technologies and other abatement methods are addressed in the following section. The financial aspects of solutions for climate change mitigation are discussed in chapter five. The last part summarizes the main advantages, disadvantages, findings, and limitations of research.
Climate Change and Its Impact on Water Management Analysis of Reservoir Storage Capacity
Hudec, Martin ; Šelepa, Milan (referee) ; Marton, Daniel (advisor)
The diploma thesis describes Climate Change and impacts of Climate Change on the development of the water management analyis of reservoir strorage capacity. The development of climate chang influence on reserviors storage capacity is presented until 2100. It also gives a detailed online downscaling description.
Effects of nitrogen supply and drought on wheat grain quality under the ambient and elevated concentrations of carbon dioxide
Moravcová, Gabriela ; Vránová, Dana (referee) ; Hrstka, Miroslav (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with effects of nitrogen supply, drought and UV radiation on wheat grain quality under the ambient and elevated concentrations of carbon dioxide. The theoretical part deals with the global climate changes, greenhouse gases and especially with effects of elevated concentrations of carbon dioxide on plants. Also, it is dealt with effects of elevated concentrations of carbon dioxide on the wheat grain quality. In the experimental part nitrogen content by the Kjeldahl method, contents of dry and wet gluten, Zeleny test, falling number and content of starch in the wheat samples were determined. The results of this study confirmed affecting the quality of the wheat grain from the elevated concentrations of CO2, nitrogen fertilization, drought and UV radiation. The most evident was the influence of nitrogen nutrition, fertilization positively affected the quality of grain, there was an increase in content of crude protein, gluten content, value of Zeleny sedimentation test, and falling number. As a result of the increase in protein content was also a decrease in starch content. Due to increased levels of carbon dioxide protein content and gluten, Zeleny sedimentation test values and falling number decreased and conversely starch content increased. The decrease of Zeleny sedimentation test by the influence of elevated CO2 concentration was fully compensated by nitrogen fertilization.
Climatological analysis of the Thaya river basin
Macík, Ondřej ; Kněžínková, Barbora (referee) ; Marton, Daniel (advisor)
The current climate changes and the persistent drought raise questions about the future development of temperatures and precipitation in the Czech Republic. One of the most affected area is south Moravia and the basin of River Dyje located there. The iam of this bachelor's thesis is to predict the future development of climate in the basin of River Dyje, using emission scenarios, a global climate model and an artifical time series Baseline by using a stochastic generator LARS-WG and subsequent analysis of the results. The obtained results will be suitably compared with each other and adjusted to the form for their future use.
Protection of the built-up area of the village Dobrouc against the adverse effects of concentrated runoff
Kulihová, Martina ; Sobotková, Veronika (referee) ; Dumbrovský, Miroslav (advisor)
The aim of the thesis was to evaluate the erosion and drainage conditions in the cadastral Lužkovice under the Complex land consolidation and then the design of protective measures. The impact of climate change was considered and for that reason evaluation and design was made in two versions. The climate change is one of the most important issues of our time.
Linking technical and natural infrastructure to climate change in cities
Svobodová, Lenka ; Hyánková,, Eva (referee) ; Hyánková, Eva (referee) ; Kriška-Dunajský, Michal (advisor)
The thesis is focused on linking technical and natural infrastructures in cities with respect to climate change. Various means of growing plants are presented by introducing urban farming. In the first, theoretical section, climate change is claimed to be a global threat for human kind which is more and more visible in cities. Many examples of adaptation and mitigation of climate change in cities are displayed. In the second, practical section, one existing technical measure from Brno city is examined – difference between technical and natural infrastructure is demonstrated. Finally, calculation method for environment-friendly crops growing, not only for cities, is introduced.
Impact of climate change on energy performance and indoor environment quality of buildings
Kalný, Richard ; Sánka, Imrich (referee) ; Weyr, Jan (advisor)
This thesis examines the impacts of possible climate change on selected buildings. For simulations in program BSim the author uses climatic data of SRES scenarios, specifically models B1, A1B and A2. It also includes a research on global warming, design and optimization of the measurement and control system at the production hall and a part of the energy audit for the office building.
