Návrh nábytkového prvku s využitím materiálu vyrobeného z morskej trávy
Bellayová, Veronika
The bachelor thesis focuses on exploring the possibilities of using the material from seagrass Posidonia Oceanica for production of furniture. The aim was to design a furniture element made of this material that would meet the criteria for sustainable products to the maximum extent possible. For a better understanding of the concept of eco-design, a literature review on the subject was developed, summarising its practices, tools, and strategies. For the production and exploration of seagrass materials, it was also important to develop a literature review on the topic of bio composite materials, seagrass materials and an overview of their use in furniture design. Two types of adhesives were used in the production of the material and the resulting material was tested for bending characteristics, Brinell hardness and tensile strength perpendicular to the plane of the board. The properties of the fabricated material were compared with particleboard. In the process of designing a furniture element from the tested material, review on seagrass side tables was carried out. Subsequently, a custom design was created with construction solution and visualizations. Finally, a FEM analysis was created for the designed element to verify its stability.
Návrh nábytkového prvku s využitím recyklovaného plastu
Obůrková, Pavla
The diploma thesis deals with the innovation of recycled plastic. With increasing production and consumption of plastics, awareness of their recycling also increases, which is causing discussion in the society. The aim of this thesis is to design and ma-nufacture an interior product using recycled plastic. The theoretical part is devoted to issues related to plastics, recycling technology, sustainability and the circular econo-my. It also illustrates the use of plastic and sustainable materials in product design. The thesis includes individual tests on selected types of recycled plastic focused on surface resistance. The project part deals with the comprehensive solution of a piece of furniture from development, across materials and procedures used, to the production itself.
Cirkulární ekonomika podniku ve vztahu k jeho finanční situaci
Šátková, Petra
Natural resources are limited, and their consumption is increasing as the Earth's population grows. Today's economic system is linear, operating on the principle of 'take-make-dispose'. The transition to a circular economy, characterized by the 'take – make – recycle' principle, uses resources efficiently and reduces waste and pollution. However, implementing the circular economy requires significant initial investments. Therefore, if a company is planning to introduce elements of the circular economy into the business, it can be very beneficial to break down the company's financial situation. Financial analysis is an important tool to reach this aim. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is devoted to the circular economy, its differences from the linear economy and the MCI indicator, which can be used to measure the level of circularity of waste at a product or the whole company. In the practical part, the linear flow index of the most produced product in the firm is calculated based on the procedure described in the theoretical part. The second part of the thesis is devoted to financial analysis and its detailed theoretical description based on academic literature. In the practical part the financial analysis of BASEKO, spol. s.r.o. is calculated based on data retrieved from the financial statements in the period 2016-2020. From the financial analysis it was found that BASEKO is a financially stable enterprise on the market, which is not threatened by financial problems in the near future. The circular economy of the enterprise cannot be calculated due to the large variability of products. The index of linear flow of the product is 37%, which the author considers a very positive result. Finally, some recommendations are set out that could contribute to the prosperity of the company both financially and in terms of promoting the circular economy in the company.
Úroveň cirkularity podniků v Irsku a Česku
Stříbrná, Veronika
This diploma thesis deals with the circular economy and its implementation in Ireland and the Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes the starting points from which the concept of the environment and its benefits for life and sustainable development are based. At the same time, the differences compared to the linear model of the economy are presented here. The work also describes the new strategies and programs of Ireland and the Czech Republic, which help the countries in implementing the circular economy. The analytical part of the work is devoted to the analysis of the development of the circular economy in the Czech Republic and Ireland. First, general indicators for the development of circularity are included in the analysis, then those focused on the level of enterprises are selected. The main goal of the work was to present the circular economy and evaluate its development in both countries and their companies.
Citizens' attitude to the sorted waste
BABÍNKOVÁ, Klára
This Thesis is focused on problematics of waste sorting and its importance for the society. It analyzes waste management, legislative norms, motivation and ecological questions of waste sorting. Quantitative survey, that maps attitudes of respondents, is a part of this Thesis. The results shows increasing awareness of the public towards the importance. I suggest also the areas for improvement of the perception and responsibility regarding the waste sorting. Sorting the waste brings economical, ecological and social benefits and is crucial for sustainable growth.
Population mobility in the circular economy
TESAŘOVÁ, Marie
The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the state of mobility of the population in everyday commuting to work and school at the level of regions of the Czech Republic in the aspect of circular economy. Secondary data mainly from the yearbooks of the Ministry of Transport and Tourism, the Czech Statistical Office, the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, etc. were used for the research. The professional assumption of circular economy in the transport issue was drawn from the documents of the European Union and the Ministry of Environment of the Czech Republic. It is on the basis of the EU documents that an "ideal region" that meets the EU requirements for circularity in transport was drawn up for the purposes of the analysis. From the above sources, the data was analysed using statistical methods and a "mobility circularity degree indicator" was compiled for the purpose of this thesis. The indicator describes and evaluates the level of mobility in each region of the Czech Republic and its result is evaluated. Finally, the findings are followed by proposals for measures to maintain or improve the state of mobility in the regions.

It focuses on the level of knowledge on the circular economy model, the management of packaging waste and gastro-waste, and the use of unused meals. It also focuses on an opinion on the importance of individual circular principles, the level of application in gastronomic establishments and an estimate of the impact of circular principles on business.
Persistent water pollutants: case of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid in the Czech Republic
Prášek, Jan ; Šauer, Petr ; Keprtová, Karolína
Reuse and recycling of products composed of natural matter is relatively without significant environmental problems. However, recycling of products produced using modern synthetic technologies often brings new challenges. Our analysis has shown that substitution of citric acid with artificial substance of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid causes important environmental problems. The case study carried out in the Elbe river basin shows that the ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid concentration standard has been exceeded, particularly from confluence of the Vltava and Elbe rivers. Open questions and tasks for future technological development and environmental policies are formulated, particularly the idea to replace artificial substances with nature-based ones. This would enable better introduction of circular economy ideas in the use of resources.
