The importance of the automotive industry in the new member states of the European Union in Central Europe

The basic question of this thesis is to evaluate the importance of the automotive industry for the new member states of the European Union from Central Europe, which are the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Slovenia. Today automotive industry belongs to the most important industries. After 1990 Central Europe has become an area which is largely dependent on the production of vehicles and components. This thesis seeks to answer the question why this is so. The first part of this thesis introduces the companies operating in these five countries. The following chapter deals with the question of how far the automotive industry is important for the economies of these five countries. It focuses on the automotive industry's share of total exports, gross domestic product or total employment. The aim of the final part is to analyse the development of automobile production in recent years with regard to the economic crisis. Also, it outlines the likely development over the next few years.

Position of the BMW Company on the Czech automobile market

The thesis analyses the BMW Company from several points of view. The first part considers detailed historical development and describes the most important occasions of the company. In the following part, the position of the company in the world market is analyzed, the 2009 year of crisis is evaluated, recent position and the expected future are described. Then the Czech car market and Czech car industry is characterized, the market share of BMW company is analyzed within all producers, as well as within the luxurious car producers. The financial analysis of the Czech BMW subsidiary is also realized. The last part of the thesis is devoted to two researches, evaluating how the BMW mark is perceived by the Czech consumers and how the Czech BMW customers are satisfied with the servicing. The research resulted in some findings which can be used for improvement of the company position in the Czech automobile market.
Relations between macroeconomic indicators and indicators of enterprise performance: aplication on enterprise Alba - Metal s.r.o.

The bachelor thesis examines relations between macroeconomic indicators and indicators of enterprise performance. It specifically deals with performance indicators of enterprise Alba Metal s.r.o. This enterprise is a Czech and foreign car industry supplier. Regarding the ownership and management of the firm, I compare return on equity as the performance indicator with the fundamental macroeconomic indicators including balance of payments. The sample includes years from 2004 to 2009. This thesis analyses the economic situation in detail and is based on financial analysis of this enterprise. The source of macroeconomic indicators are public statistics of the Czech Statistical Office, Czech National Bank and OECD.
The influence of the scrappage bonus on german car industry

If and how much, the scrappage bonus influenced the number of first registered cars in Germany? This is the question addressed in this bachelor thesis. The empirical analysis method, difference-in-differences was used for the investigation. Findings are; in consequence of the scrappage bonus, there was an increase in the average amount of the first registered cars about 24.5 % (or 922 per million inhabitants); the end of the scrappage bonus caused the decrease of amount of the first registered cars about 23.56 % (or 835 per million inhabitants). Also in the others categories studied, the increase of first registered cars as a consequence of the scrappage bonus and decrease by the end of scrappage bonus is visible.
Company Faurecia and its action in Czech Republic as an example of large French industry investment

This thesis adresses to the direct foreign investments and to the company Faurecia. The first part of this thesis gives attention to the direct foreign investments in the Czech Republic. In this part the emphasis is also on the analysis of French investments in the Czech Republic. The second part is focuses on the presentation of the company Faurecia. In this part is also made the geographic analysis of this company. The third final part deals the impact of the company Faurecia on the region of the town Písek.
Economic effects of car scrapping subsidy

This bachelor thesis tries to examine real effects of vehicle car scrappage incentive on the Czech Republic using standard economic models, experience from the Slovak Republic and the University of Delaware study. This analysis results in the net welfare loss estimation amounting to 1 450 200 000 CZK at least. This thesis conclusions distort the idea of scrappage incentive scheme as a fiscally neutral impact on the state budget in long run as well.
