Evaluation and setting of standards of conventional ratio of flexors and extensors of knee of young athletes
Ižovská, Jana ; Zahálka, František (advisor) ; Džupa, Valér (referee)
Title: Evaluation and determination of standard ratio of extensors and flexors of the knee in sporting youth. Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to establish the standards of the force ratio H: Q for the youth football categories U16, U17, U18, U19, U21 and adult players of the Czech Republic and based on the prescription type of study to establish a percentage critical disbalance of dynamic knee stabilizers which may be the most common cause of injuries to dynamic or static knee joint stabilizers in soccer players. Methods: The monitored group of players consisted of football players playing in elite Czech football clubs, both in youth and senior categories, who meet the predetermined selection criteria. The isokinetic strength parameters were monitored using a Cybex Humac Norm isokinetic dynamometer (Cybex NORM ®, Humac, CA, USA). We investigated maximum strength moment (PT) of extensors and knee flexors of dominant and non-dominant limb at concentric contraction at angular velocities of 60, 180 and 300ř.s-1 . Then we watched the players wounded. If the injury occurred, then we looked back at its strength characteristics and the strength ratio between the extensors and flexors of the knees and whether it was possible to predict the injury and determine the critical level that indicates the...
Optical response of magnetic materials
Wagenknecht, David ; Ostatnický, Tomáš (advisor)
David Wagenknecht: Abstract of a diploma thesis Optical response of magnetic materials, 2014 Magnetooptical properties of anisotropic semiconductors are studied to describe asymmetry of Ga1−xMnxAs, because theoretical calculations predict extraordinary behaviour of reflectivity. Analytical formulae to describe materials with non-diagonal permittivity are derived and they are used for the numerical calculations to describe the optical response of the samples available for the measurement. The transversal Kerr effect is calculated and it exhibits asymmetry in both rotation of the plane of polarization and ellipticity of circularly polarized light due to asymmetry in reflectivity. Moreover, longitudinal and polar magnetization are studied because of the influence on the observability of the phenomena. Results are not only used to discuss conditions, which must be satisfied to prove the asymmetry, but also the actual experimental setup is designed to prepare the measurement. 1
Meta-analýza studií asymetrické transmise cen ropy u palivové produktové vertikály benzínu a nafty
Kostruchová, Klára
Kostruchová Klára. Meta-analysis of asymmetric transmission oil prices studies in the fuel product verticals of petrol and diesel. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2018. The topic of this thesis is the meta-analysis of asymmetric price transmission between the price of oil and the prices of other petroleum products, also known as "rockets & feathers". The empirical analysis is based on binomial and multinomial logit classification models to evaluate the empirical evidence of the oil price asymmetry. In both cases, approximately 75 % of the values were correctly classified. An important finding is that significant regressions include methodological variables, namely frequency observation and estimates made on panel data. In general, studies with higher expected rates (ie panel studies and higher frequency studies) have less frequent asymmetric transmissions. In the case of fundamental variables, there is no significant evidence of their classification capability of the presence of asymmetry of price transmission.
Evolutionary aspects of (epi)genetic determination of laterality with a special focus on upper limb
Holoubková, Tereza ; Daňková, Pavlína (advisor) ; Struška, Michal (referee)
Handedness is one of the most distinct asymmetries of the human body. There is approximately 90 % of right-handers in the population, which is the strongest bias in handedness among all primates. Handedness is connected with lateralization of brain for language and is determined both genetically and by the environment. Genetic determination of the handedness has not been yet figured out, although there are many candidate genes and regions. In addition to candidate genes, the genetic determination is shaped by the epigenetic mechanisms and the role of testosterone. Handedness occurred alongside the beginning of the human population development, approximately in the Middle Pleistocene, with the same percentage of left-handers as today. Handedness polymorphism is maintained in the population based on the frequency-dependent model because of the advantages and disadvantages associated with left-handedness.
Directional asymmetry of upper limb and back muscle activity during bow draw; implications for bioarcheology
Véle, Dominik ; Sládek, Vladimír (advisor) ; Galeta, Patrik (referee)
This theses explores muscle activity during bow draw. The goal of his study is to evaluate whether muscle activity corresponds with increase in mechanical robusticity of the left humerus found in mezolithic osteological material. Muscle activity is measured by the means of surface electromyography. We measure activity of arm and back muscles. Activity was measured on m. deltoideus, m. infraspinatus, m. biceps brachii, m. triceps brachii and m. latissimus dorsi. Muscle activity was measured on 20 male archers, during bow draw of three wooden long-bows. Results of this study support the idea that change in robusticity of the left humerus could be caused by frequent bow use in post-glacial Europe.

Pelvic asymmetry in relation to the human reproduction
Kodytková, Aneta ; Brůžek, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Bigoni, Lucie (referee)
This diploma thesis deals primarily with the existence of the asymmetry of the bony pelvis and the sexual dimorphism of the asymmetry of the pelvic canal, which is caused by different reproductive functions of each of the sexes. Furthermore, the correlation or linear dependence of the external pelvic and pelvic canal dimensions was investigated. The study uses 3D pelvic models created in Avizo 7.1 from CT images of the recent French population. The material consists of 74 probands, of which 36 are males and 38 are females. The models were digitalized using Viewbox 4 software, in which 29 landmarks were applied to each pelvic model. These correspond to 24 dimensions divided into three groups: the size of the non-canal pelvis, the dimensions of the pelvic canal and the dimensions for calculating the correlation between the non-canal pelvis and the pelvic canal. The degree of asymmetry was evaluated using the formulas for the calculation of directorial (DA) and absolute (AA) asymmetry. Student's paired t-test was used for statistical analysis of asymmetry to determine asymmetry in previous studies. Gender differences were determined by the Mann-Whitney U test. At the same time, an analysis using the mixed model ANOVA was also performed, which in addition incorporates an intraobservation measurement...
An effect of the hairstyle symmetry on the female face attractiveness
LAPEŠOVÁ, Tereza
Diploma thesis deals with the effect of the hairstyle symmetry on the female face attractiveness. The aim of the thesis is to experimentally find out the possible relationship between the hairstyle symmetry and the attractiveness of the female face. To map out the views of attractiveness, an online questionnaire was submitted to the respondents of both sexes to evaluate female faces with a symmetrical and asymmetric hairstyles. A total of 56 images were created, which were evaluated by the respondents in terms of attractiveness on the scale of 1-10. Most respondents slightly favored the symmetrical hairstyles, only one sample of male respondents slightly favored the asymmetric hairstyles. Since the difference in symmetrical and asymmetric variations was not statistically significant in any case, it is possible to claim that the symmetry of the hairstyle does not affect the attractiveness of the female face.
The physiotherapeutic options to treat lumbar pain resulting from asymetrical lenght of limbs after total hip replacement surgery
PRÁŠKOVÁ, Romana
This Bachelor's thesis discuss possibilities of lower back pain physiotherapy which arise from asymmetric length of lower limbs after a one-sided surgery of total endoprosthesis of hip joint. In the first part of my theses I summed up mainly basic theoretic knowledge connected with the problem. I considered mainly anatomic kinesiology and functional underlay and connections between them. The point of this work is to overview possibilities of physiotherapy and kinesiotherapy that I encounter during my school practise. Out of all of them I selected those which are most usable and I applied their particular parts during the process of creating exercises in the practical part of my thesis. In the practical part of my bachelor's thesis I used quantitative form of research. The research includes objective measuring using medical machine VSR Sport from the company Neurocom, the input and output kinesiological analysis as well as interview and observation. Based on processing this data I have created the rehabilitative plan. The plan was constructed from concrete physiotherapeutic and kinesiotherapeutic methods which I considered in the theoretical part and was adjusted or changed according to individual patients (in the form of exercises). The research unit included three patients two women and one man. Each of them underwent eight therapies, each of which was forty five minutes long. All patients ended up being affected by the therapy positively. The patients mentioned mainly pain relief, milder or less frequent pains and feelings of better balance. Objectively, there is a noticeable change of (stress of lower limb). Less complicated methods which are focused on muscle strengthening in the spine and pelvis area seem to be most suitable.
