The organization of proviving pre-hospital emergency care in combat conditions
ŠPRUNGLOVÁ, Ilona
My bachelor thesis titled Organisation of Providing Pre-hospital Medical Care in Combat Conditions is divided into a theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part I focus on the history of care provided in field conditions, on the legal sphere concerning providing pre-hospital medical care, and on the education of the non-medical workers, including the courses available for the Czech Armed Forces. I also focus on the providing of the first aid in combat and extreme conditions according to the approach of Tactical Combat Casualty Care, where the chapter is separated into parts regarding medical treatment under fire, medical treatment in tactical field care, and medical treatment during the transportation. Chapter First Aid Algorithms follows, consisting of report of the incident, sorting of the wounded, and injury examination. In the last section of the theoretical part I examine medical security, medical equipment, and medical documentation. The research part has one goal: "to elaborate a unified summary of processes of providing pre-hospital medical care in a tactical environment used by paramedics of the Czech Armed Forces and to evaluate their possible implementation into the conditions of the civilian sector, i.e. their possible use by off-site groups of emergency medical care providers." Based on this goal were set down two research questions. Question number 1: "Is it possible to employ the processes of providing pre-hospital medical care used by the Czech Armed Forces in a civilian sphere of emergency medical care providers?" Question number 2: "Is it possible to employ military medical tools and devices also in a civilian sphere of emergency medical care providers?" Answers to these questions were acquired with the help of a qualitative inquiry in form of semi-structured interviews. The inquiry assemblage consisted of six Czech Armed Forces paramedics, five civilian paramedics, and one civilian emergency medical services physician. The respondents were asked ten questions, which were then divided into ten categories. The research showed that the Czech Army Forces and the civilian sphere of emergency medical services are closely connected. This applies to procedures in certain situations or to material equipment.
The use of 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade in migration crisis as part of national border protection
KURŠ, Ondřej
The threat level of a migration crisis is high. Recently, we have been able to observe the situation on the border between Turkey and Greece. It is extremely tense and might trigger the same kind of migration crisis as in 2015. This dissertation investigates a potential migration crisis threat posed to the Czech Republic, its focus point being the section of national border between the Czech and Austrian Republics in the area of Dolní Dvořiště. This section is analysed and compared in two time periods: border security in the years 1979-1989 and after the conclusion of Schengen Treaty, as provided by a battalion of 15th Border Guard Brigade and a unit of 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade, respectively. The aim is to identify possible ways of securing the national border and preventing its crossing in two independent time periods.
Protection against weapons of mass destruction in the Army of the Czech Republic.
MYSLÍK, Karel
The bachelor thesis describes chemical warfare agents. The theoretical part contains general characteristics of weapons of mass destruction and combat, chemical, nuclear and biological weapons. Features classification, types, and effects of chemical warfare agents. This part is followed by a chapter that describes the history and development of chemical warfare agents before and after 1989. The following is the area of chemical warfare agents, which describes the means of protection of respiratory organs, body surface and means of detection of these substances, which are in currently used for all-army units of the Army of the Czech Republic. The next part of the work is devoted to the area of providing first aid in the event of being hit by a chemical warfare agent. Defines the history, means of antidotes and the decontamination process. The last chapter presents the legislation on weapons of mass destruction, which highlights some important documents concerning the ban on the use, possession, production, storage and proliferation of all types of weapons of mass destruction. These are the Geneva Protocol, the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons and the Biological and Chemical Weapons Conventions. The second part of the work contains analytical research, which dealt with the current readiness of professional soldiers in the units of the Army of the Czech Republic. A form of questionnaire survey was chosen to carry out the research, where several specific questions dealing with this issue were created for the area of protection against weapons of mass destruction. The aim of creating the questionnaire was to find out the current knowledge of the soldiers of the Army of the Czech Republic and to obtain an answer to the research question whether the Army of the Czech Republic is adequately prepared for the threat in the form of weapons of mass destruction. Two hundred and forty professional soldiers from four military units took part in the research survey. The results of the survey were processed into tables and then graphically represented. The conclusion summarizes the issues and knowledge in the field of weapons of mass destruction in the Army of the Czech Republic.

Moral competence and social desirability of security and armed forces
KUČEROVÁ, Kristýna
The bachelor thesis is focused on moral competencies and social desirability of the security and armed forces of the Czech Republick. Specifically, for firefighters and soldiers. The theoretical part of the work is divided into two main parts. The first of them is focused on moral competencies. First, I deal with the theoretical basis of moral reasoning and then the basic concepts related to morality. Furthermore, I deal with psychological theories of morality and their starting points. The second part of the theoretical part deals with the concept of social desirability. This part is focused on terminology, the construct of social desirabillity, the two-factor model and measurement methods. In the empirical part I focus on the preferred stage of moral reasonin accorditn to Kohlberg´s for security and armed forces, the relationship between social desirability and the level of moral judgment. The research group consists of a total of 213 respondents. In verifying the established hypotheses, no statistically significant difference was found between the level of moral competencies of members of the security forces and the civilian population, and no significant difference was found in the level of moral competencies depending on education. The difference between the level of social desirability of the security forces in comparison with the civilian population was found, the hypothesis determining the connection between the preferred level of moral competencies was supported and the hypothesis dealing with the inconsistency between the C-score and social desirability was supported.

Procurement of defense technologies to ensure security in the case study of the Czech Republic
Šimek, Viktor ; Kučera, Tomáš (advisor) ; Ludvík, Jan (referee)
The study deals with the phenomenon of defence technology procurement for the Army of the Czech Republic. The primary objective is to describe the current state of acquisitions and to outline the profile, positions and mutual relations of individual actors participating in this process. The thesis explains, using the concepts of security assemblage and security commodification, the relationship between state and private actors in the decision to procure a particular defence technology. The scope of the research is the so-called pre-acquisition process. This is the result of the balance of power between the actors involved in the acquisition, with each actor pursuing its own goals. Using three case studies, the actions of all identified actors, their motivations, mistakes, and sub-steps are examined in detail. The study provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of defence technology procurement to secure the Czech Republic's defence capability. Key words procurement, assemblage, defence technology, government, defence industry, Ministry of Defence
