Design and evaluation of process equipment damaged by degradation mechanisms
Cablková, Zuzana ; Naď, Martin (referee) ; Lošák, Pavel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is aimed at the evaluation of selected degradation mechanisms which occurs in process equipment. The assessment is undoubtedly important in terms of safety and prediction of residual life. This issue is demonstrated by two mechanisms described in this thesis. A phenomenon called creep is the first of these mechanisms and appears in environments with elevated temperature. The theoretical part of the thesis covers the basic principles of the creep mechanism and its effect on the material. A marginal but not negligible problem is the occurrence of this damage in welded joints. Many standards deal with the prediction and assessment of creep. Part of this thesis is the mapping and to some extent a comparison of several selected procedures. The second degradation mechanism is related to the presence of aggressive compounds such as sulfide. This can lead to hydrogen embrittlement, blisters, and many other damages. As with creep, an overview of standards devoted to the design, evaluation, or maintenance of equipment used in this way is created for these mechanisms. The content of the practical part of this thesis is the calculation of the evaluation of such a device by using the procedures of the API 579-1 standard.
Analýza úspěšnosti koní českého chovu na rovinových a překážkových dostizích
Grézlová, Šárka
The thesis deals with the development of races, the history of races in the Czech Republic and the characteristics of the racing system. The practical part contains the development of racing system in the Czech Republic in 2003 and 2018, as well as the statistical evaluation of the factors influence (gender, age, suffix and a start year) for handicap and earnings. When evaluating the results of the 3-year-old horses in flat races has been statistically proven significantly and statistically lower performance of horses with different suffix in 2018. Those performances related to horses evinces the CZE (57.42 kg) with lower performances than GER (78.79 kg), and the earned profit differed significantly between horses CZE (23,286 CZK) and FR (83,099 CZK). Furthermore, it has been proven that the profit in 2003 had mares (CZK 41,395) significantly lower performance than stallions (CZK 155,579). When evaluating the results of the older horses on planes, has been statistically proven, that horses with different suffixes had statistically and significantly lower performance in 2003. There were horses CZE (54.77 kg) with a lower performance than GER (77.00 kg) and in 2018 statistically and significantly a lower horse performance of the CZE (59.96 kg) and FR (73.00 kg). When evaluating the results of the older horses in jump-races has been statistically proven that horses with different suffixes statistically and significantly lower profit in 2003 had horses CZE (25,487 CZK) than GER (345,587 CZK) and in 2018 has been found significantly lower performance of mares (65.82 kg) than geldings (73.84 kg).
Tracking Resistance Of Various Materials In Vacuum
Šedivý, Matúš
Many vacuum instruments used in industry and scientific research apply high voltage components. Vacuum performs as an insulator with theoretically infinite breakdown voltage. Surface of dielectrics between two electrodes inside a vacuum chamber is the weakest link for a possible electrical breakdown (tracking). This paper focuses on examination of a vacuum pressure influence to the surface breakdown voltage of a various materials. Results were compared and led to determination of an appropriate materials for a design of internal connectors in electron microscopes produced by the company Thermo Fisher Scientific.
Pulse Generator for Φ-OTDR in VPI photonics
Čučka, Milan
The paper focuses on Φ–OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflectometry) systems which need short time duration and high powered pulses for proper function, because the backscattered signal is weak for proper detection. The article includes a simulation of the signal generator for Φ–OTDR sensoric systems in simulation software. Designed generator allows to try pulses, with different time of duration, pulse repetition frequency and power. The article also includes scientific notation of backscattered signal and a short description of the used systems.
Representation of Personality in the Online PC Game Lord of the Rings Online by linguistic and extraliguistic means
DOUCHOVÁ, Marcela
My Bachelor's thesis aimed at a standard lexical analysis carried out by the means of Del Hymes model. The MMORPG platform of the game Lord of the Rings Online served as a linguistic data collection point. Therefore, the analysis was one of mediated communication. The presented Master's thesis directly resumes the previous one. Mediated communication is even three years later still a widely discussed topic. Its understanding is deepening and its perception is continuously being refined. Nowadays, an analytical description of a linguistic phenomenon cannot be sufficient for an up-to-date thesis. Owing to recent research and new models of enquiry a deeper insight into the text is possible as well as message and communication analysis at a strictly quantitative level. Thanks to the work of people such as Joseph B. Walther, Daantje Derks or Victor Savicky one can immerse in a research reaching far beyond the linguistic element of the communication, and therefore start to examine the alluring paralingual depths inside the communication mediated via computers. Such a depth approach opens up a lot of questions. What exactly is hidden in the text? What information can be acquired through the text which is not communicated in primary code? This thesis formulates several research questions which crystalised out of my long-lasting experience with the game and the MESSAGE produced there. These questions are supplied with lingustic evidence available to the author. The presented thesis does not aim only at providing a handbook for using a specific type of communication. The aim comprises of a depth insight into the message and of finding proofs the message exhibits such traits which reveal its author. This thesis strives to prove that the product of mediated communication is capable of completing the notion of the communicating person at least as efficiently, though by different means, as the paraverbal means in face-to-face communication.

Prostitution as a social problem
VOTRUBOVÁ, Eva
According to several authors, sexual activity ranks in third place in our day-to-day physiological manifestations, right behind eating and sleeping. Sigmund Freud claims that sex and erotica are what drives all human actions and that they are even present in four fifths of all our thoughts and desires. According to Freud's psychoanalysis, following sexual instincts and fulfilling sexual needs is the main human objects. Even in Maslow's hierarchy of needs, sexuality is classified in basic, biological needs. Sexuality therefore affects a large part of our behaviour. Prostitution is considered as one of the forms of sexual behaviour. Nowadays, prostitution is a phenomenon as frequent as it has been from the very beginning of the human race. The fundamental objective of this bachelor's thesis is to map out the subjective perception of reasons that led selected sexual workers to prostitution, and to develop a possible model of social work with this group. A qualitative research strategy was used for the purpose of research. In order to gather necessary information, I used the method of semi-structured in-depth interviews as well as a brief questionnaire. The latter served for gathering the respondents' basic information, such as age, marital status, education, etc. Over and above, during the interview I focused more on detailed information essential to answering the questions dealt with in the research. The interview was structured into five basic topics, whereas each of them included several specifying or developing questions. The basic topics formed a so-called core of the interview, while the other questions were posed in order to develop the topic more in depth with regard to answering the research objective. The interviews were carried out with six respondents from one erotic salon. The research part includes brief case studies that were elaborated on the grounds of information gathered during the interviews and the information collected with the questionnaire. The case studies allow us to gain an insight into the lives of individual respondents and to get a closer take on their life situations. All the interviews were transcribed and analysed using the technique of open coding. The fundamental analytical line is the story of individual respondents from their early childhood until the present day. The last section also includes responses related to the future of the prostituting women. This process, in which I tried to create an analytical story, was carried out using a "showdown" technique. The questions during the interview were asked in a manner so that they answer the essential questions of the research, which reads: EQ1: What reasons led the selected sexual workers to their decision to make their living as prostitutes? EQ2: What motives had sexual workers to make their living as prostitutes? EQ3: What situations might affect personality during the life of women so that they are prostitutes? The research results allow an insight into the life of prostituting women working in an erotic club. They reveal information from their childhood, adolescence and adult age and, at the same time, allow mapping out the reasons that lead the women to the sexual behaviour of prostitution. The results also point out the advantages and disadvantages of this profession as seen by the respondents, the experience with social services, but also the future of these women. The most frequent motivation among the respondents was money. This was already evident from the questionnaire, in which five of six women responded that they came to prostitution for financial reasons. However, it was also possible to notice different motivational aspects that contributed to the decision to making a living as a prostitute. Be it time flexibility, higher expectations regarding living conditions, or an effort to secure sufficient means for more than basic essentials of living standards.
