Security verification tool for industrial and energy equipments

The aim of this work is to analyze various search engines with the intention to select the most suitable for the creation of a tool that should be able to perform security testing. Comparisons were made between Shodan, ZoomEye, Nexpose, Censys and BinaryEdge. These search engines were compared according to different criteria, namely their perfomance and publicly available information. Shodan and ZoomEye were chosen as the most suitable ones and as a result, web application was created. This application is able to retrieve search results from engines' servers using their API's and is able to store these results in a database. The thesis includes a description of a variety of industrial and energy protocols, as well as industrial and energy networks and their security features. Moreover, a few of the most well-known attacks on these networks were described. The last goal of the work is to test and evaluate the implemented tool on at least two devices.

Detection of interictal activity in long-term stereo-EEG recordings

In patients with pharmacoresistant focal epilepsy, complete prevention of the clinical manifestation of epilepsy is achievable through surgical removal of the epileptic zone. Accurate localization of the epileptic zone relies on the detection of interictal epileptic discharges, which serve as an essential tool. However, the effectiveness of automated interictal epileptic discharge detectors may be influenced by the patient's state of vigilance. This study demonstrates a statistically significant difference in performance between different detectors during different sleep phases. The precise temporal and spatial distribution of interictal activity holds paramount importance for identifying the epileptic zone. Inaccurate determination of the epileptic zone and unsuccessful resection can occur if the sensitivity and accuracy of detectors vary across sleep stages. Consequently, it is crucial to consider the patient's consciousness status when pinpointing the epileptic zone. One approach to address these variations in detector performance at different states of vigilance is to optimize the parameters of detection algorithms. This study includes an investigation into the optimized parameters for two interictal epileptic discharge detectors.

Projekt laboratorního modelu elektrické stanice s komunikací dle IEC 61850

Práce se zaměřuje na vylepšení stávajícího modelu elektrické stanice pomocí osazení novými ochranami REF615 od společnosti ABB, které ke své horizontální komunikaci využívají GOOSE typy zpráv podle protokolu IEC 61850. V práci je dále popsán detailní postup konfigurace nových ochran REF615 pomocí programu PCM600 a také ověření funkcí nakonfigurovaných ochran a otestování vzájemné komunikace. Součástí práce jsou nově navržené panely, laboratorní návod a technická dokumentace, ve které jsou vyznačeny nově provedené úpravy za účelem vylepšení modelu elektrické stanice.

Hardware-In-The-Loop Simulation Of A Distribution Network With An On-Load Tap Changer Controlled By An Intelligent Electronic Device Via Digital Communication

This paper deals with hardware-in-the-loop simulation of the distribution network, whichis equipped with the on-load tap changer on the HV / MV transformer. This tap changer in the simulationis controlled from a real physical external device - the multi-functional intelligent electronicdevice REX 640 from ABB. This device receives and processes the sampled measured values ofvoltages and currents. Based on these values, an instruction to switch the transformer tap is thengiven back into the simulation. All communication between the simulator and the external device isprovided using the IEC 61850 industrial communication protocol. The paper summarizes both thebenefits of hardware-in-the-loop simulations and the possibilities of using intelligent electronic devicesand data communication in distribution systems.

Distance Protection Design Using Digital Input Data

IEC 61850-9-2 specifies that the transmission of sampled measured values (SMVs)over an Ethernet network, using sampled values generated by merging units of IEDsor individual merging units, instrument transformers. The implementation of IEC 61850-9-2 depends on the dataset specifications such as time synchronization, sample counts, and interval time. The dissertation is focused on protection algorithms and analyses the impact of IEC61850-9-2LE on physical protections with (analog-digital) input data of voltage and current. With the increased interaction between physical devices and communication components, the test proposes a communication analysis for a substation with the conventional method (analog input) and digital method based on the IEC 61850standard. The thesis analyses the merging unit’s functions for relays using IEC61850-9-2LE. The proposed method defines the sampled measured values source and analysis of the traffic. Further, the thesis deals with the programming of protection function algorithms in Matlab. The model evaluated the harmonics impact on digital relays and the impact of current transformer saturation on distance protection. In the end, the thesis deals with the assessment of the benefits of IEC 61850-9-2LEusing a neural network. The last chapter focuses on a real-time application that subscribes the data stream coming from a substation near the protection laboratory in Brno University of Technology. IEC 61850-9-2 LE SMVs are used to transmit the traffic to a university lab-oratory with 16 km of fiber optic cable. The application built using Matlab and can read the traffic from the ethernet port, the traffic decoded and convert from ASCII to the decimal numbers then draw the current and voltage values. The application developed without using any need for additional hardware, the requirements are the ethernet port RJ45 from the station and pc that is running Matlab. The benefits and features of the application, easy to use, ability to implement all the distance protection functions, calculation of the RMS values of the voltage and current, harmonic distortion, the harmonic components with FTT analysis, distance protection characteristics and fault impedance calculation. All calculations implemented in real-time, moreover, in this chapter include sensitivity analysis of the Matlab model in previous chapters. Distance protection functions discussed in this thesis used the offline model of Matlab or captured with Comtrade format files

Simulátor IED s podporou komunikace GOOSE

Cílem této bakalářské práce je vytvoření simulátoru IED pracujícího jako publisher protokolu IEC 61850-GOOSE. Pro dosažení tohoto cíle byla použita knihovna libIEC61850. V rámci práce bylo naimplementován emulátor zařízení komunikujícího pomocí protokolu GOOSE. Zpráva obsahuje experimenty validující emulovanou komunikaci. Přínosem této práce je vytvoření open-source tohoto typu emlátoru pro operační systém Linux, protože ostatní existující řešní jsou komerční.

Práce se zabývá komunikačními protokoly standardu IEC 61850. Jsou popsány protokoly GOOSE (Generic Object Oriented Substation Events),SMV (Sampled Measured Values) a MMS (Manufacturing Message Specification). Protokoly jsou použity pro vytvoření simulační sítě, která je popsána v této práci. Simulační síť je vytvořená v programu OMNeT++, instalovaném ve virtuálním prostředí Ubuntu.

Simulátor průmyslové komunikace standardu IEC 61850

Práce se zabývá komunikačními protokoly podle standardu IEC 61850. Konkrétně se jedná o protokoly SMV (Sampled Measured Values), GOOSE (Generic Object Oriented Substation Events) a MMS (Manufacturing Message Specification) a jejich využití v systémech SCADA. V práci je navržen simulátor, který na zařízení Raspberry Pi simuluje komunikaci pomocí zmíněných protokolů, dle standardu IEC 61850. Je simulována ochrana přepětí, podpětí, jistič, odpojovač, HMI. Pro ovládání stanice je využit protokol MMS. Simulace je ovlivnitelná uživatelem z konfiguračních textových souborů.

Popis a testování komunikačních protokolů normy IEC 60870-5-103 a 60870-5-104

Tato diplomová práce je zaměřena na testování komunikačních protokolů IEC 60870-5-103 a IEC 60870-5-104. Teoretická část práce detailně popisuje základní principy, služby a možnosti obou komunikačních protokolů. Praktická část se zabývá konfigurací IEC 60870-5-103 u ochranného terminálu REF630. Testování této komunikace u ochrany REF630 bylo prováděno pomocí programu PCVDEW6. Druhá polovina praktické části je zaměřena na převod komunikačního protokolu IEC 61850 na IEC 60870-5-104. Převod protokolů byl prováděn pomocí řídicího systému COM600 v prostředí SAB600. Oba komunikační protokoly byly testovány na testovacích panelech v laboratoři ochran oddělení programování ochran společnosti ABB Brno.
