Frankfurt Book Fair 2015

V rámci návštěvy mezinárodního knižního veletrhu ve Frankfurtu nad Mohanem ve dnech 14. – 16. 10. 2015 proběhla úspěšná jednání s představiteli nakladatelství John Wiley & Sons, Elsevier Science, Springer Verlag a SAE international a bylo získáno velké množství zajímavých poznatků na doprovodných přednáškách.

Business Plan of Czech-Italian Publishing Children's Books

The scope of this work is to realize a good business plan of a Czech-Italian publishing house of a children's book that could demonstrate the success and viability of the project. In the theoretical base, the structure of a business plan and the content of its single parts will be analyzed. In the practical application, the specifics of a publishing business and book market will be described. Afterwards a concrete business plan including in particular the analysis of company environment, marketing plan, implementation plan and financial plan will be created. In the end the risks will be evaluated.
The Factory of Dreams - Books and Films by Karl May in Bohemia during the 20. Century

The diploma thesis deals with the work of German writer Karel May, and so with film adaptations of these books in Czech context. The work reflects Karel May´s personage through the 20th century. The first part pays attention to May´s Czech editions from the first ones in the publishing house Jos. R. Vilímek, to the half of the century when the ?mayovky? came out in the publishing house Toužimský&Moravec. The second part presents selected receptions of May´s work by publicly active people. The next part mentions the origion of film adaptations in the sixties, the last part deals with their presentation to Czech cinemas from the sixties to the eighties of the last century.
The phenomenon "livre de poche" and it´s place in French book production

Abstract The thesis is focused on pocket books and their place in the French book production. The thesis is divided into three parts. In the first part, French and world history follow short introduction. The second part gives information about publishers publishing these books, their book series and the attitude of publishers regarding number of books and authors published in 2012. The last chapter of this part presents different cultural events connected with these books. The last part contains economic dates and prognoses of future development.
Marketing mix of publishing house named PIEROT

Work is structured into two units. First, theoretical unit refers to elaboration of a given problem with the help of literary resources. Practical part revers to problem of marketing mix in application on one of the publishing houses on the Czech market with the focus on educational literature; more precisely on exercise book for the last year of pre-school education and students of 1-4 grade of primary school. Work introduces reader into the history of publishing and describes specificities of publishing market. The aim of this work is to explore separate components of marketing mix with the focus on price and communication of the product. However, for the complexity of marketing mix there can not be left out elements of product and distribution. The end of the work draws up separate findings and outlines possible improvements and new forms of publications propagation.
