Protection of workers, inhabitants and environment during mining and processing of uranium ore
PILECKÁ, Eliška
In the Czech republic uranium had been mined in Jáchymov (till 1967), near Příbram (1948 {--} 1991), in Okrouhlá Radouň in the south of Bohemia (1972 {--} 1990), near Vítkov in the west of Bohemia (till 1991), in Zadní Chodov (till 1992), in Dyleň (till 1994), in Hamr and Křížany near Stráž under Ralsko (till 1990), in Zálesí in Rychlebské Mountain and in many other locations. The mining of uranium influenced in considerable way health and quality of miners´ lives, and also lives of their relatives and up to now it still influencing quality of lives of people living near mining locations. Above all the uranium industry made irreparable changes in our country and the leftovers are up to now influencing the quality of our environment. That´s why there is a must to pay special attention to this area. Nowadays in the Czech republic there is registered around 3768 old uranium mines, out of it there is 2523 mining cannons which are obliged to be regularly controlled. The negative influences are marked as old burdens of already eliminated mining or modificating act on our environment or in some other way threatening public interests. According to the character of negative expression we distinguish mining burdens, it means negative influence of mining activity on stableness of the surface, and ecological burdens, it means negative influence on our environment. In my opinion a matter of uranium industry is very rarely known to the wide public. The main reason why is it like this can be the fact that in the period of main expansion of uranium industry in the Czech republic all the information connected to the research, mining or maintaining of uranium, were top secret. The second reason can be no existence of complete source of information that could be used for study purposes and the same time for informing general public. That is why this study should purvey such source.

An unknown courteous word in Old Czech?
Nejedlý, Petr
The Old Czech hapax legomenon bnedovánie is used in the adaptation of the medieval knight romance Duke Ernest (Herzog Ernst). There are two hypotheses based on the lexical system: 1) the corrupt word is an archaic part of the word family constituted by the adjectiv sbedný and its derivates and it means ,a (brilliant and amusing) social behaviour corresponding with norms of court; (but we cannot satisfactorily explain word-formative processes leading from the sbedný to the bnedovánie); 2) the word is the corrupt form of Old Czech noun burdovánie (but its use is not convincing in the existing context).
The Merz objective 160 / 179 of refractor of Upice Observatory
Rail, Zdeněk ; Šrajer, Bohdan ; Lédl, Vít ; Jareš, Daniel ; Oupický, Pavel ; Melich, Radek ; Melich, Zbyněk
In this paper, basic optical characteristic of historic objective lens manufactured by Merz are presented. This objective lens has been in use in main dome of Upice observatory since 1960. The lens was cleaned up and adjusted, during reconstruction work of paralactic mount in beginning of this year. Opto-mechanical parameters of the lens were measured. Measured values of optical parameters are presented.
Schemes of seismic experimental measurements in the railroad tunnel Mosty u Jablunkova
Stolárik, Martin
It comes to general reconstruction of obsolete main railroad tracks and development of railway corridors in Czech Republic. In relation to this, new railroad tunnels are built, or present ones are reconstructed. Reconstruction of old tunnel represents tunneling of new underground space. The cross section of singletrack tunnel is often enlarged to double-tracked one. New tunnel constructions are realized using New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM) when blasting operations are one of driving technologies. Typical example of this reconstructed tunnel is tunnel in the mountain pass Jablunkov. Two single-track railroad old tunnels are situated in this location. The older tunnel (1871) operated at the present time as a provisional and the junger one (1917) reconstructed. Both of them are near one another. Experimental seismological measurement was realized in the reconstructed tunnel on the tunnel floor.

Comparative study of FE models of human femur constructed by different approaches
Kytýř, Daniel ; Jírová, Jitka ; Jiroušek, Ondřej
Methods for fully-automatic generation of FE model are shortly discussed in the paper. There are two basic principles of reconstruction, voxel-based and volume-based methods. The voxel model generation is based on checking all pixel values and defining voxels by means of the selected pixels.
