Assessment of a peristaltic pump tubing life used in medicine
Nováková, Karolína ; Burša, Jiří (referee) ; Jagoš, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis’s theoretical part deals with description of cardiopulmonary bypass and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) and their differences. Furthermore, the thesis’s theoretical part compares peristaltic pump and centrifugal pump and describes peristaltic pump’s principle, influence of peristaltic pump on the patient’s blood, tensions in the tubing and materials used for the tubing, number of rollers of peristaltic pump and tubing occlusion, including degree of occlusion, methods of occlusion setting and influence of occlusion angle. Independent chapter is dedicated to norms about peristaltic pumps with focus on reliability of peristaltic pump and its components. Another independent chapter summarizes actual state of tubing lifespan research. In thesis’s practical part, draft of tubing lifespan testing depending on the degree of occlusion and draft and execution of guaranteed tubing lifespan is described. Draft of component keeping tubing in working space is also described in thesis’s practical part.
Testing of strength of extracorporeal blood circulation connections
Pospíšil, Luděk ; Friedel, Daniel (referee) ; Nevrlý, Josef (advisor)
This thesis deals with testing the connection strength between the cannula and tubing for extracorporeal blood circulation. The first part gives information about tubing, cannulas and instruments in extracorporeal blood circuit. The following is the issue of connection strength, design and assembly of measuring stand including a measurement of the required parameters for different conditions. The second part deals with the evaluation of the measured data. The outcome of this work is measuring breakaway strength on pressure and temperature of the flowing medium and the size of the tensile forces in the axis of the tube over time, analysis of results and comparison with materials from supplier cannulas and tubing.
Possibilities of controlling the output characteristics of the peristaltic pump
Odehnal, Martin ; Formánek, Martin (referee) ; Jagoš, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with the possibilities of controlling the output characteristics of a peristaltic pump. First, the peristaltic pumps themselves, their design and principles of operation are analyzed. Furthermore, their applications and a description of their use in biomedical applications are described. The main part of this review describes the output characteristics of a peristaltic pump with a follow-up chapter devoted to the possibilities of their control. Here, the options are divided according to their nature into three groups: software, hardware and their combinations. The possibility of variable speed control during the cycle belongs to the category of software control and its implementation is performed in the practical part of this work. This option was chosen due to its universal use, both in the elimination and modulation of pulsation. As part of the work, different schemes were designed that allow variable control of the rotor speed of the stepper motor during one revolution in four modes according to the choice of speed profile.
Dialysis pump
Švagera, Roman ; Rudolf, Pavel (referee) ; Fialová, Simona (advisor)
Dialysis is still very important treatment process today which needs to be constantly improved. This thesis focuses on the development of a pump for dialysis units, specifically on the pressure pulsations reduction in the rotary peristaltic pump. Using experiments, the problem of peristaltic pumps is explained. With the computational modelling there are proposed design modifications leading to the pressure pulsations reduction.
Peristaltic pump
DESIGN OF AUTOMATIC PIPETTING HEAD ON THE PRINCIPLE OF PERISTALTIC PUMP
Čížek, Petr ; Lang, Stanislav (referee) ; Matoušek, Radomil (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to design and create a prototype of automatic pipetting head that will be useful for pipetting in laboratories after attaching it to a robotic manipulator. In the beginning, a research about various types of automatic pipetting heads was made followed by a device design and component analysis. The prototype was made using 3D printing method and it utilises a peristaltic pump, Arduino microcontroller and Bluetooth interface. A measurement of repeatability and dispensing accuracy was made on the finished device. The results are evaluated in the conclusion.
Pump Control System
Streit, Jakub ; Šťastný, Ladislav (referee) ; Bradáč, Zdeněk (advisor)
The goal of this thesis is design of universal system for motor control. This device must be able to control at least 4 motors, stepper motors or DC motors. Wired, or wireless communication, using IEEE 802.15.4, is mandatory. The System is based on modular concept. The Basic modules are Control module, Communication module, Connection module and Power module. The system was tested in the control of fertilizer dosing pumps in the greenhouse
Drive of peristaltic pump for medicine
Smrž, Ondřej ; Procházka, Petr (referee) ; Huzlík, Rostislav (advisor)
This work is focused on the design of the peristaltic pump drive for medical purposes. Its initial goal is closer introduction of peristaltic pumps and stepper motors. Then the design of BLDC motor will be made and the use of this motor will be compared with stepper motor. Design of the BLDC motor will be made using RMxprt. Last but not least simulations of both types of motors for the peristaltic pump will be created in Simplorer. Finally, the program LabVIEW will be introduced and a program for controlling a stepper motor will be created.
