Compare prices for ornamental plants found cost and simplified way with different characteristic type of vegetation
Hůlová, Martina ; Pertl, Marek (referee) ; Lorencová, Marie (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is to compare prices of ornamental plants founded by simplified and cost method of valuation. Comparison was made on a sample of garden situated in the functional unit with a terraced house and the land built over by this building. Based on the obtained results the influence of different location and age of the trees on their price is evaluated. The thesis also defines basic terms and explains issues which are closely related with valuation of ornamental plants.
Genové zdroje a jejich význam pro šlechtění okrasných rostlin
Vašinová, Denisa
Resume The bachelor work deals with the difficulty of gene sources of decorative wood species in Czech Republic and abroad. We tried to gain information about the current state of decorative wood species in Czech Republic and concerning research institutions that are involved in the process of gene pool preservation, especially using the forms ex situ, in situ, on farm, in vitro. The Crop Research Institute in Prague, Ruzyně is the main research institution for plant production and is also covering all other research centres, organizations and institutions in Czech Republic. We focused on National Program for genetic sources of agricultural plants and its coordination. It was vital to introduce information connected to genetic sources of decorative wood species. The main aim of our bachelor work was oriented to history and present of genetic sources of decorative wood species and summing-up of complex information about the collection state in Czech Republic an abroad.
The Health Conditions of Ornamental Plants of the Family Begoniaceae in Greenhouse Systems
DEMELOVÁ, Šárka
The main aim of this study was to identify patogenes, which cause dying of begonia tubers while dormancy. Experiments consisted of two main parts: detection fungal pathogens during the vegetation and laboratory tests of hybernating tubers. Begonia plants were controled regularly once per week during the vegetation for health and number of healthy, disease and dying plants. For laboratory tests were used tubers before dormancy and healthy and disease ones for testing during vegetation season. The selection of tubers for testing was based on results from last season, when the tubers were compared in mortality. Depending on this factor were selected mutatins: the most sensitive (begonia tuberhybrida white), ordinary (Begonia pendula yellow-orange) and the most resistent (Begonia tuberhibrida cinnabar, red). Plants were observed at all phases of vegetation.

Novosadová, Petra
Plant growing and reproduction have been attracting people´s attention since ancient times. In connection with increasing knowledge and experience and with gradual improving of living conditions the customer demands on cultivated plants either domesticated or ornamental have also been increasing. From the outset the methods of plant breeding were carried out in relation to the process of plant domestication and various forms of plant´s choice. More significant development of plant breeding appeared at the turn of 18 and 19 century in connection with rediscovery of Mendel Laws. This Bachelor´s thesis focuses on the history of ornamental plant breeding in Europe. The introductory part is divided into three time periods and includes the important turning points of biological and botanical research. Next part brings the summary of particular breeding techniques. The main part introduces some important personalities and centres of plant breeding in certain European countries including the Czech Republic. The thesis also mentions cooperation and developmental differences in plant breeding in our country and in other countries.
Využití vybraných komerčních hnojiv ve výživě okrasných rostlin
Pospíšilová, Kristýna
Cultivation of ornamental plants has a very long tradition. The first mention about use of plants for ornamental purposes originate from ancient Egypt around 1500 B.C.. The ancient Egyptians deliberately used the plants for the beautification of their tombs. Since then plants grown for ornamental purposes go through long development and breeding. Even today, the growers are still trying to reach new more resistant varieties, new colors and flower shapes of leaves or whole plants by plant breeding. With the growing of ornamental plants is related their nutrition. Without the proper nutrition the ornamental plants won't be able to grow and bloom beautifully. The subject of this bachelor thesis was compare effects of commercially available fertilizers to increase growth of their lenght and the overall appearance of plants of the genus Pelargonium. Bachelor thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is a literature review, which introduces readers to the plants of genus Pelargonium and issues regardings plant nutrition. The second part is experimental and describes the experiment. In one year pot experiment are used four variants of fertilization. As test fertilizers were selected: Kristalon, Cererit, Biom Florastim + Biome LH univerzal and OBM. It was also used unfertilized variant, for better comparison of the results. The best results were achieved with fertilizer Kristalon. This fertilizer is designed especially for nutrition of geraniums. It contains a balanced amount of all important elements for growth and flowering plants. Fertilizers Cererit and OBM had similar results. Plants fertilized by these fertilizers were at first sight vital and richly flowered. The last variant fertilized by BIOM Florastim had the worst results. The fertilizer BIOM Florastim contains a very small amount of nutrients. Because of this fact plants were short and less blooming.

Metodika řeší problematiku oceňování okrasných rostlin a stanovování výše škody komplexně u všech růstových forem dřevin (stromy, keře, dřevité liány), trvalek, neprodukčních trávníků a živých plotů, stěn a tvarovaných solitér dřevin.
