Rohatec Special Regime Home
Molčanová, Viktorie ; Todorov, Petr (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor)
The assignment of the thesis is to design a special care facility/home. The project of this facility is a direct response to the tornado-damaged S-Centrum building in Hodonín. Preceding this assignment is a pre-diploma project, which addresses a new building from an urbanistic perspective - analyses, integration into the surrounding development, and connection with the planned forest park. The area is ideally located on the outskirts of the municipality along a road leading to the city of Hodonín. An added advantage is its proximity to the forest, where terrain and garden improvements are planned, creating a new forest park with a lookout point. Due to the orientation of the plot to the north, there is the possibility of sunlight reaching the residential and communal areas from almost all sides. The shape of the building resembles the letter U, thus appearing open towards the forest. A park, vegetable gardens, pétanque, and seating areas are proposed between the building and the forest, while at the eastern end, it connects with the planned forest park via a gate. The connection with the building is from Nové řádky street, where the existing access to the plot is located, and the main entrance to the building is also oriented towards this street. Due to the height regulations in the municipality’s zoning plan (maximum 3 floors or 2 floors + attic), 3 floors with a basement are proposed, which is utilized for underground parking. The main goal of the design was to strengthen the capacities for providing social services in the special care facility/home, create a quality environment for patients and employees, and provide maximum integration with the surrounding nature.
Data encryption on USB flash drive
Bráblík, Petr ; Benedikt, Jan (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the design and implementation of a security program for encryption and automatic decryption of data on a USB memory stick. The system is designed to facilitate the use of the operating system on a USB memory stick for seniors in the age group of 90 years and above. The goal is to load a live version of the operating system that can be directly run from the USB memory stick. The implementation of a group of scripts will ensure automatic decryption of data according to the MAC address of the computer in which the USB memory stick is located. Furthermore, the work includes a graphical application for modifying the allowed MAC addresses for automatic decryption. The application allows to add enabled MAC addresses, view the history of computers in which the USB memory drive was located, and back up user data to another drive running the legacy operating system. The results of the work are published on GitHub.

Žáček, Jan Filip ; Benedikt, Jan (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
The main objective of this bachelor's thesis was to develop an application for a senior caregiver. Within this application, a graphical configuration option for selected settings in configuration files of the senior operating system (senior-os) applications is created. Furthermore, the application includes a graphical interface for displaying and filtering log levels of senior-os application activities. The caregiver application incorporates protection against phishing attacks using machine learning, which analyzes suspicious addresses listed in the activity logs of senior-os applications. The second objective of the bachelor's thesis was to design and implement a unified graphical environment in the form of a module that ensures clarity and consistency across all senior-os applications. The results of this work are published on the GitHub versioning platform under the MIT license.
Email client for seniors
Vala, Robin ; Sláčik, Ján (referee) ; Komosný, Dan (advisor)
The bachelor thesis focuses on the design and development of an e-mail client that is adapted to the needs of seniors aged 90 years and older. The main goal was to create a user-friendly interface that minimizes complexity and includes only the necessary features relevant to this target group of people. In addition, audio assistance was integrated into the application, which significantly facilitates navigation in the program environment and improves the overall user experience. As part of the application’s security, a special feature has been implemented to warn users of the potential dangers associated with links leading to fraudulent websites contained in received email messages. This measure helps to protect users from online threats and scams. The complete source code of this thesis is freely available in the Github repository.
Dostatečnost nutričního vyživení v domovech pro seniory
VOŠTOVÁ, Tereza
This bachelor thesis deals with the issue "Sufficiency of nutritional nutrition in homes for the elderly". The nutritional status of the elderly in homes for the elderly is not at a high level and is not adequately assessed by the nursing staff. Inadequate nutrition has many consequences and affects the overall health of the elderly, and the causes of inadequate nutrition are controllable. The nutrition of the elderly has its own specificities and should be accepted in the provision of their nutrition. The bachelor thesis consists of theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part deals with old age, nutrition and standards of homes for the elderly. The practical part dealt with research on these objectives. To map the nutritional adequacy of the diet of the clients of the old age homes and to find out the status of the meals taken outside the diet given by the institution. A qualitative survey was used to achieve the objectives of the work. The research investigation was conducted in the form of semi-structured interviews, using questionnaire method. Sixteen clients from the home for the elderly participated in the research investigation. The interviews were recorded using pencil-paper method and transcribed. The research investigation revealed that the elderly homes do not prepare food that meets the nutritional recommendations for the elderly. Two research questions were used to reach this conclusion, the answers to which led me to the stated facts that the majority of respondents did not reach their recommended energy intake, yet the food consumed outside the home on average accounted for only 13 % of total energy intake. The presence of a nutritional therapist in the nursing team is not common practice. Based on my findings, I would recommend that a nutritional therapist be part of the nursing team in nursing homes for the elderly.

FUČÍKOVÁ, Nikola
The aim of this bachelor thesis was to characterize what is activation activity and what is its content in a specific home for the Elderly. A qualitative research strategy was used to meet the desired objective. The method of interviewing in the form of a semi-structured interview was used. The research participants were selected on the basis of simple purposive sampling. The criteria for the selection of communication partners were predetermined. The open coding method was used to evaluate the collected data. The theoretical part defines the concepts of senior, aging and old age. It also deals with seniors with dementia and seniors with disabilities and certain changes in old age. Residential facilities for the elderly and their legal and ethical aspects are mentioned. This is followed by an explanation of the general principles of activation, the role of activation activities in homes for the elderly and a characterisation of what activation methods and techniques are involved in working in a home for the Elderly. The research question deals with what kind of activation activities are undertaken in a particular home for the Elderly. The research revealed that there is a diverse range of activities taking place and being used in the retirement home. The most common and popular activities include sports and physical activities, memory training, music therapy, and canister therapy. Research has shown that activation activities are beneficial for the elderly. Activities promote physical, social and mental health, help maintain their abilities and skills, improve their mood and strengthen social bonds, which reduces the risk of social exclusion, feelings of loneliness or isolation. Activation activities improve the quality of life of older people. This research can contribute as feedback for the social workers of the selected home in their work with the elderly and can also be used as information material for the public.

Subsequently, the interviews were processed through verbatim transcription using pencil and paper techniques. They were then coded and 8 categories were created. The main aim of this study is to find out the subjective assessment of the quality of life of the elderly living in a retirement home. Furthermore, three sub-objectives were also set. And the last sub-objective is to find out the satisfaction with the relationships in the retirement home. The results show that seniors are satisfied with their stay in the home for the elderly and appreciate the services and care they receive, mainly because they could not do without it. The results of my research can serve mainly as feedback for the retirement home in which the research was conducted. The retirement homes can also use this research as inspiration to improve certain services. This thesis can also serve to raise awareness about living in a retirement home.
