Differences between versions of network simulator 3 and the new design of selected lab tasks
Halaš, Marek ; Jeřábek, Jan (referee) ; Dvořák, Jan (advisor)
The aim of this work is to describe the development of the NS3 simulator, specifically between versions 3.21 and 3.40. Another objective was to prepare three laboratory tasks that were developed in an older version and implement them into the latest version with new guides. The work also describes the environment setup and installation of this tool. The final part focuses on extending the original tasks and their implementation into the latest version.
Advanced Segmentation of a Simulated Network
Slávik, Mark ; Komosný, Dan (referee) ; Benedikt, Jan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the simulation of available routing protocols in the NS3 simulator and in the Quagga module. The functions of simulated routing protocols are described in the theoretical part. In the practical part, the functionality of the NS3 simulator and the RIP, OLSR and OSPF, BGP routing protocols from the Quagga module are introduced using a simple topology. Finally, the network is extended and several subnets are added. Using available analysis tools, the network is subsequently analyzed and evaluated with different scenarios.
Power line grid model
Csiba, Patrik ; Sláčik, Ján (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
This diploma thesis analyzes the PLC communications in various scenarios. The first part of the thesis describes the principle of narrowband and broadband communication and the analysis of electrical lines. The next part describes the NS-3 framework, simulation scenarios for establishment the effect of branches and other parameters on the baud rate. The last part determines the minimum number of repeaters and their location on the extended topology.
Power line communication modelling in Network Simulator-3
Horák, Martin ; Zeman, Václav (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of data transmission over power lines, focusing on simulation transmission functions. The theoretical part summarizes basic information on PLC technology and distribution networks, followed by analysis PLC simulator implemented in NS-third In the practical part of the thesis is described implementation of individual types of underground and overhead lines to the PLC simulator. Also been carried simulation scenarios for a simple topology and were designed own simulation scenarios for extended topology and simulations have been carried out various kinds of interference on communication.
Design of Mobility Model for Nano-Devices in NS-3 Simulation Environment
Miklica, Jan ; Kováč, Dominik (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the description of nanocommunication networks, models for wireless communication networks and the description of motion in nanocommunication networks. The practical part describes the settings of the simulation scenarios for the definition of Brownian motion. Description is made for the simulation software NS-3 and N3Sim. In this thesis, the measured results of the simulations are summarized in tables and graphs. From the measured results the regression analysis is prepared. General summary of the results is provided at the end of thise thesis.
Modelling of Mechanisms for Multiple Access to Mobile Network
Tinka, Zdeněk ; Mašek, Pavel (referee) ; Hošek, Jiří (advisor)
The diploma thesis „Mechanisms modelling of multi access into mobile wireless network“ is focusing the wireless network. The diploma thesis contains basic network topology of wireless standard 802.11g and utilizes key identificators of mobile node in dependency on the distance and collision controlling function for simulation purposes. In the next part of this thesis is created LTE mobile network topology, which serves for finding key identificators. In the last part is created offload topology containing both - 802.11g and LTE network. As the result are implemented offloading algorithms, which ensure data traffic switching based on comparing 802.11g and LTE key identificators. Automatically generated and shown figures providing the key statistics are the main output of this thesis.
New simulation scenarios in NS3 environment
Bureš, František ; Kubánková, Anna (referee) ; Jeřábek, Jan (advisor)
Cílem bylo navrhnout dva simulační scénáře v prostředí NS-3. První scénář obsahuje ARQ (Automatic Repeat Request) metody v TCP (Transmission Control Protocol). Je v něm porovnání Stop-and-Wait, Go-Back-N a Selective-Repeat metod. Teoretická část obsahuje TCP a ARQ.
Performance Metrics Evaluations for Selected Proactive Routing Protocols in Smart Grid Neighbourhood Area Wireless Mesh Network
Anderson, Enock
The smart grid communication network has improved energy optimization delivery from generation, transmission, and consumption. The introduction of wireless mesh networks in the area of Neighbourhood ad hoc Networks has contributed to the quick and cost-effective way of deployment in the areas where back-haul technology like fiber optic is expensive and challenging and may not be timely. The IEEE 802.11s standard-based wireless mesh network associated with the hybrid wireless mesh protocol is highly recommended due to its extended functionality. However, the hybrid wireless mesh protocol based mesh networks can not guarantee the quality of service in such an environment. The OLSR (Optimised Link State Routing) protocol outperforms the Reactive protocol in ad hoc Networks when transmission quality is required. This paper proposes the adaptation of Extended Transmission Control with OLSR as the optimized protocol for such an environment in neighbourhood ad hoc networks. The simulation study was carried out using the NS3 simulator to evaluate the performance of OLSR and OLSR-ETX (OLSR with Expected Transmission Count). The results confirm the viability of this protocol for neighbourhood ad hoc networks and also outperform similar simulation using NS2. The implementation of OLSR-ETX in the neighbourhood ad hoc networks rural environment will increase reliability and improve Demand Response DR in Smart Grid.
Simulator Of Network Communication With Map Interface For Ns3
Benedikt, Jan
The work deals with the description of creating a network simulator with a map interfacefor Network Simulator 3. The first part of the work deals with the existing solution Network Animator(NetAnim) and based on the submitted requirements, justifies the intention to create a new simulationinterface. The following is a description of the technologies and standards used to create a newinterface. The main part of the work is a description of the development of the simulator itself. The last part of the work presents the developed interface for analysis of simulation results from theNetwork Simulator 3 (NS3).
