Optimization of Thermally Activated Building Structures
Oravec, Jakub ; Kalousek, Miloš (referee) ; Čekon, Miroslav (referee) ; Šikula, Ondřej (advisor)
The thesis deals with the modelling, analysis and optimization of thermally activated foundation piles using the in-house developed numerical software Epile. A sensitivity analysis of short energy piles was performed and a deep regression neural model was developed to predict the energy gain of the pile. A Bayesian optimization method was implemented to find the optimal parameters of the energy piles in order to maximize the financial and energy gain.
Low temperature heat exchanger
Křivánek, František ; Toman, Filip (referee) ; Hejčík, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this work is to design a low-temperature heat exchanger for a lyophilization device. The theoretical part of the work includes a basic description of lyophilization technology, a literature review of heat transfer at low temperatures with a focus on suitable construction materials and heat transfer fluids, and an overview of utilized heat exchanger designs. The practical part of the work deals with the actual design of the heat exchanger for indirect cooling in two variants, one of which utilizes a direct vaporization system of the heat transfer fluid, while the other focuses on purely liquid cooling.
Heat exchanger for thermal management systems of battery modules of electric vehicles: experiment and simulation
Grygar, Jan ; Mráz, Kryštof (referee) ; Boháček, Jan (advisor)
This thesis deals with a heat exchanger made of polymeric hollow fibers. The first part is devoted to the heat generated during charging and discharging processes. The cooling performance at different loads is experimentally tested and the effect of the flow rate on the battery temperature is observed. And a CFD simulation is performed using an opensource program OpenFOAM to see how the flow rate is distributed in the different branches of the heat exchanger.
Production process optimization
Habásko, Jakub ; Koška, Petr (referee) ; Fiala, Alois (advisor)
HABÁSKO Jakub: Production process optimization. The Master´s thesis of Master degree, second grade, school year 2008/2009, FME Brno University of Technology, Institute of Metrology and Quality Assurance Testing, October 2009, pages 68, pictures 40, tables 2, supplements 4. The project elaborated in frame of the Master degree, study branch Metrology and Quality Assurance Testing. This Master´s thesis deals with optimization of process plan. In virtue of submission was created an analysis present condition using of statistical methods and it was created suitable statistical methods applicable in production organization. Then is here described the problem of brazing bells, because in this place is originating the most of uptightness. Then the thesis brings recommendation and findings, which can help with optimization this process.
Feedwater heater design
Holčapek, Josef ; Tomáš,, Zdeněk (referee) ; Skála, Zdeněk (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of a feedwater heater. The aim of the work is to perform thermal, hydraulic and stress analysis. A preliminary technical documentation is also part of this work. The first part contains a summary of basic types of heat exchangers and processes of heat transfer. The main part is focused on thermal analysis to determine the main parameters of the heat exchanger. Next part is followed up by hydraulic analysis to determine the pressure drop of the heating water. After that is created design of heat exchanger with stress analysis of the proposed wall thicknesses of the shell, water chambers and tubesheet. Achieved results are summarized and evaluated at the end of the diploma thesis.
The issue of energy-efficient home heating
Kollár, Ľubomír ; Hrnčířová, Michaela (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
Low-energy houses are becoming more common and requested. The Bachelor's thesis focuses on heating and ventilation of low-energy houses. The beginning chapters describe and explain basic principles of these buildings and basics of air-handling and heating systems. The main part of the work overviews contemporary heating and ventilation systems while pointing out their advantages and disadvantages. The work includes a design of heating and ventilation of low-energy house.
Heat exchanger design
Tatýrek, Lukáš ; Kudela, Libor (referee) ; Baláš, Marek (advisor)
The designed heat exchanger is part of a cogeneration unit, which I am considering as a possi-ble alternative for acquiring electrical and heat energy during heating season. The objective is to compile research about usable heat exchangers, pick a suitable technology for flue gas water application, calculate and design a heat exchange surface, calculate pressure drops and pro-cess the enclosed drawing documentation of the heat exchanger. For calculations, the recuper-ation gasket plate heat exchanger was chosen. The design of gaskets is nonstandard as it has been made for higher than usual temperatures. The result of this work is a heat exchanger with uncommon dimensions with a very low count of plates.
Wireless dataexchange for heat exchanger
Wojnar, Petr ; Hynčica, Ondřej (referee) ; Štohl, Radek (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor’s thesis is firstly an introduction to devices that are used for controlling the heat exchanger model, visualization and wireless data-exchange. For this purpose are used ROCKWELL AUTOMATION programmable logic controllers, ROCKWELL AUTOMATION terminal and SATEL radio modems. A schematic of the heat exchanger model is also included with description of each model part. The second part of this document is focused on the design of regulation, visualization and wireless data-exchange by means of already mentioned devices. The last part describes realization steps of controlling, creating of visualization and algorithm for wireless data transfer according to designs mentioned in the second part of this document.
Modification of heat exchanger for steam generation
Pačíska, Tomáš ; Jegla, Zdeněk (referee) ; Nekvasil, Richard (advisor)
This graduation thesis is concerned with a thermal exchange unit issue whereof one working substance complies with a two-phase mode of a flow. This unit is made for the steam generation. The thesis is supposed to solve operation problems causes of the given unit and to make a proposal of an appropriate solution that is supported by performed calculations. Part of the the work is strength calculation. This work also introduces the thermal-hydraulic processes issue of the steam generation equipment. There are also performed thermal-hydraulic control calculations in consideration of newly set-up operation parameters of the given equipment‘s working substances.
CFD simulation of fluid-induced vibration
Kubíček, Radek ; Vondál, Jiří (referee) ; Buzík, Jiří (advisor)
The presented diploma thesis focuses on flow-induced vibrations of a tube. The main aim and benefit is the analysis of tube stiffness in contact with the other one and the following use of obtained values and characteristics in CFD simulations. The work can be divided into three parts. The first part is about the current state of knowledge of flow-induced vibrations. It introduces the basic mechanisms of vibration and methods for their suppression. The second part deals with the determination of stiffness of defined geometry tube including the collision with the other tube. The final part demonstrates and evaluates the application of obtained characteristics in CFD simulations.
