Šístek, Jakub ; Sousedík, Bedřich ; Čertíková, Marta ; Burda, P. ; Neumanová, E. ; Novotný, Jaroslav ; Damašek, Alexandr
A new view at the BDDC method was presented. Parallel implementation is described. Numerical results show effectiveness of the method.
Modelování a simulace složitých geotechnických problémů
Blaheta, Radim
This paper provides three examples of chalenging geotechnical problems which require application of mathematical modelling and use of efficient numerical methods and powerful parallel computers. These examples give a motivation and exploit methods developed within the project MSTEP:Modelling and Simulation of complex Technical Problems.
O adaptivních časových krocích pro počítačovou simulaci přesunů tepla a hmoty při vakuovém vymrazování
Georgiev, K. ; Kosturski, N. ; Margenov, S. ; Starý, Jiří
The work is motivated by the problem of freeze-drying, which is a process of dehydrating frozen materials by sublimation under high vacuum. Especially, it concerns the mathematical modelling and computer simulation of the heat and mass transfer with the core in solving the time-dependent nonlinear partial differential equation of parabolic type. Instead of an uniform discretization of the considered time interval, an adaptive time stepping procedure is applied in an effort to optimize the whole simulation. The procedure is based on the local comparison of the Crank-Nicholson and backward Euler time steps. The results of numerical experiments performed on a selected real-life problem are included.
Matematický model podzemního úložiště jaderných odpadů
Kohut, Roman
The paper concerns the mathematical modelling of thermo-mechanical processes in nuclear waste repositories. The aim of the contribution is to show the experience with the computing of a large practical problem concerning the assessment of the influence of the distance between the deposition places to the thermo-elastic response of the rock massif.
Úvod do paralelního Matlabu
Jakl, Ondřej ; Musil, Tomáš
The contribution provides an introduction to the DCT/DCE parallel computing environment which has recently become part of the Matlab software collection. An application from the field of nonlinear dynamics of rotors is presented and selected parallel constructs are introduced. Practical experiments with this application show very good parallel performance and scalability on a local cluster of 8 processors.
Numerická ilustrace teoretických výsledků pro nelineární semikoercivní nosníkovou úlohu
Sysala, Stanislav
The semi-coercive problem of a beam on a unilateral elastic subsoil of Winkler's type is considered. The aim of this contribution is numerically illustrate some basic results of the problem, which are summarised in the contribution. Concretely, we are interested in dependence of the problem solution on an external load, the error estimates of approximated solutions and the convergence properties of used numerical methods subject to the load.
