Communication as a game: a misleading metaphor?
Koťátko, Petr
The author criticises the account of linguistic communication as a kind of game, in which rules (linguistic conventions) apply on moves (utterances, as made in given context) and give meanings of utterances as out-puts.
Logical games and truth values
Majer, Ondrej
Formal game theory allows for an alternative view on logical systems: we can see verification of a certain statement as a game - formalized dialogue of two players. The rules of the game correspond to the properties of the system in the framework of which the statement is formalized. The article deals with the relation between properties of logical games and the number of truth values of the corresponding logical systems.
The Rules of Normative Games
Svoboda, Vladimír
The paper considers the prospects of employing the framework of normative linguistic games proposed originally by D. Lewis for examination of logical features of expressions of prescriptive language.
"Logica ludus"
Peregrin, Jaroslav
Recent development of logic has brought about an interest in the interconnections between logic and game theory. As a result, logical calculi have started to be seen as means of delimitation of certain rules, within the framework of which we then play certain games ('of justification'), represented by statements of the corresponding calculi. The paper discusses two variants of such 'game-theoretical' approach to logic: Hintikka's game-theoretical semantics of classical logic and Lorenzen's dialogic logic.
Games, Sciences and Philosophy

Collection of 20 papers in the domain of the humanities, social sciences, and logics given at the interdisciplinary seminar of the same title held in Prague 2004. The collection reflects a discussion concentrated on two problem areas: the one is formed by the questions of constitutive and regulative game rules, the other is formed by the questions of the phenomenal and non-phenomenal nature of games.
