A new musical genre in Bohemia - the solo concerto in the production of the Prague composers of High Baroque

As a new musical genre, the solo instrumental concerto spread all over Europe at the beginning of the 18th century. The study documents so far unnoticed sources of the solo concertos by Czech composers of this time. The sources of the concertant compositions by Anton Reichenauer (cca 1694–1730) and Christian Postel (d. 1730) have been preserved abroad in German collections.
Semiramide riconosciuta - opera on the Prague coronation of Maria Theresa in 1743

The coronation opera Semiramide riconosciuta was performed on the coronation day on 12 May 1743. Its composer could not be identified from the so far known sources and its score has not been preserved. As concerns its libretto, the author has deduced that the opera was a mere pasticcio, i.e. a compilation of arias from other successful operas.

Military and political motifs frequently appear at the decorated baroque glass. Such motifs often represent standard reflection of the more or less important political affairs by the early modern society. At the same moment, the interpretation of concrete military and political motifs is sometimes the only way hove to identify dating and location of the production of the baroque glass objects. The article deals with examples found in the National Museum, Prague, and in other collecitons.
