Velikost lomové procesní zóny a disipační energie během šíření trhliny v kvazi křehkém materiálu
Řoutil, L. ; Veselý, V. ; Keršner, Z. ; Seitl, Stanislav ; Knésl, Zdeněk
The paper presents a numerical analysis of fracture processes in testing specimen configurations with substantially different crack tip stress constraint levels. Specimens of several sizes and relative notch lengths are taken into account. The features of the distribution of current/cumulative value of fracture energy along the specimen ligament are discussed and related to estimations of fracture process zone (FPZ) size and shape, in which the energy is dissipated. Significant effect of the stress constraint on the size/shape of the FPZ, and consequently the energy dissipated within it, is reported.
Analýza porušení systému matrice – vlákno
Klusák, Jan ; Knésl, Zdeněk
Conditions of damage initiation in fibre composite materials are analysed in the paper. The main objective of the presentation is to quantify the influence of fibre-matrix material mismatch on failure critical stress under which a crack is initiated in the vicinity of a free fibre end. The considerations are derived from the knowledge of the stress state caused by the existence of the bi-material interface. The step change of material properties in the interface leads to singular peak of stresses, which may be responsible for crack initiation and consequently for failure of the structure. The singular stress state near the interface is analysed by means of generalized linear elastic fracture mechanics and conditions of crack initiation are assessed. On the basis of the results the question of interfacial debonding between the fibre and matrix is discussed.
Odezva inherentně křehkých materiálů na dynamické zatěžování
Chlup, Zdeněk ; Flašar, Petr ; Dlouhý, Ivo
The main aim of the contribution is to investigate influence of strain rate on fracture resistance and to analyze response of the microstructure to high strain rate loading including the change of mechanical properties. The fractographic analysis of fracture surfaces was employed in the investigation with the aim to identify changes in fracture behaviour.
Rozvoj kuželových trhlin při "Ball on the Three Balls Test"
Chlup, Zdeněk ; Harrer, W. ; Kozák, Vladislav ; Řehořek, Lukáš
Proposed ball on three balls test takes advantage of biaxial loading and very simple experimental setup allowing usage of various test-piece geometries. The loading configuration is insensitive to small inaccuracies of disk shape. The only relevant parameter playing significant role is the thickness of test-piece. The three supporting and one loading balls eliminate disadvantage of ring of ring test mentioned above. From the experiences of numerical analyses as well as experimental results is still unclear influence of contact stresses between test-piece and loading ball on resulting stress field respectively the influence of cone crack developed due to such stresses. The main aim of this paper is to describe possibility of cone crack development due to contact stresses.
Vliv rychlosti deformace v oboru 10-4 až 103 s-1 na tahové vlastnosti a plastickou zónu austenitické oceli 304
Iino, Y. ; Švejcar, J. ; Dlouhý, Ivo ; Forejt, M.
Quasistatic, rapid and impact tensile test of cylindrical smoothed and notched specimen of type 304 stainless steel was carried out at room temperature. The high strength at the lower strain rate was due to the beneficial effect of the martensite formation. The applicability of the recrystallisation technique to high strain rate deformation was examined using tapered cylindrical specimen.
Studium vývoje únavového poškozování u lité superslitiny Inconel 738LC pomocí konfokální laserové rastrovací mikroskopie a miroskopu AFM
Juliš, M. ; Man, Jiří ; Obrtlík, Karel ; Podrábský, T. ; Polák, Jaroslav
Confocal scanning laser microscopy (CLSM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM) were applied to study surface relief within persistent slip markings (PSMs) in cast nickel-base superalloy Inconel 713LC cyclically strained under strain control at room temperature. The PSM topography with the shape and size of extrusions and intrusions and their evolution during cycling is documented. Isolated peak-like intrusions and hilly extrusions indicate that the cyclic plastic strain is non-uniformly distributed in persistent slip bands. Surface relief data obtained with both high-resolution techniques are compared.
