Synthesis of new oxytocin analogues with high antagonistic activity
Fragiadaki, M. ; Bissyris, E. ; Magafa, V. ; Slaninová, Jiřina ; Cordopatis, P.
The synthesis of new OT analogues bearing the following modifications: L-ŕ-t-butylglycine [Gly(Bu')] at positions 8 and 9, D-Cys and D-Tyr(Et) at positions 6 and 2, respectively, and Mpa or Pen at position 1 have been described.
Separation of structurally related peptides by open-tubular capillary electrochromatography using (metallo)porphyrins as the adsorbed stationary phase
Charvátová, Jana ; Kašička, Václav ; Barth, Tomislav ; Deyl, Zdeněk ; Mikšík, Ivan ; Král, V.
Four octapeptides, derivatives of the B23-B30-fragment of the B-chain of human insulin withminor changes in their sequences were studied as model analytes. Separations were performed both in alkaline (pH 9.0) and acidic (pH 2.25) background electrolytes.
Study of neurotoxicity and neuroprotectivity using NG 108-15 cells
Borovičková, Lenka ; Šloncová, Eva ; Slaninová, Jiřina
Factors influencing testing of neuroprotectivity of peptides based on the structure of humanin are described.
Characterization of peptide proteinase inhibitors isolated from boar seminal plasma
Jelínková, Petra ; Tichá, M. ; Jonáková, Věra
Most of proteins of boar seminal plasma are present in this medium under physiological conditions in the form of aggregates and not of monomers. In the present communication we have shown that not only spermadhesins, but also proteinase inhibitors participate in the formation of associated complexes. Proteinase inhibitors were found after gel chromatographic separation mainly in the fraction with the lowest relative molecular mass. Two different types of serine proteinase inhibitors were isolated from boar seminal plasma ů (i) glycosylated inhibitor with Mr 12 kDa, (ii) non-glycosylated sperm-associated acrosin inhibitor with Mr 8 kDa, and a new type of low molecular weight protein that is probably composed of two subunits coupled by the -S-S- bridge. The proteinase inhibitor with Mr 8 kDa was proved to form a heterodimer with AQN 1 spermadhesin under physiological conditions, whereas inhibitor with Mr 12 kDa forms homodimers.
