Floorball is a relatively young, but indeed very popular and dynamic sport. It is known for cutting movements and sudden changes in direction and speed, which can cause strain to the lower extremities. These movements could be compared to those used in jumping activities, such as vertical drop jump (VDJ), where it is necessary to have excellent jump-landing technique, showing good stability of the knee and good neuromuscular control. If the level of jump-landing technique in VDJ is low, it becomes a factor increasing risk of injury. The most common injury in female floorball players happens at the knee joint. Females are more likely to sustain knee injuries than males since their joints are not as stable. The aim of this thesis is to determine the level of VDJ and the dynamic knee stability of senior female floorball players. The theoretical portion contains a brief description of floorball as a sport, its rules and physical demands, followed by research on the knee, its anatomy, physiology and kinesiology, which includes, among other things, its position and stabilization. Factors affecting knee stability help show the disadvantage of women compared to men, describing the causes of poorer knee joint stability and resulting higher risk of injury in women.
