Ray tracer for radiation analysis of electronic components
Klement, Matej ; Fujcik, Lukáš (oponent) ; Bohrn, Marek (vedoucí práce)
This thesis describes the methods of radiation analysis. It explains methods for calculating incident ionizing and non-ionizing radiation inside a shielding box. The methods are derived from active ESA standards for space engineering. Two MATLAB scripts and a stand-alone program were created based on these methods. One of the aims of this thesis was to compare the calculation methods based on their results and calculation principles. The main goal was to create a stand-alone program, which can be used as a useful tool for a special electronic circuit design engineer. This program can be used for calculating radiation inside a shielding geometry, discovering weak spots of the geometry, or showing ideal spots for the placement of a sensitive component.
Scalable thermal model of a transistor package
Klement, Matej ; Junasová, Veronika (oponent) ; Otáhal, Alexandr (vedoucí práce)
This diploma thesis describes methods for simulating the self-heating of a discrete transistor component inside it’s package. Two methods of measuring thermal resistance are described using information from JEDEC standards. Model of a transistor package is simulated using Ansys ICEPAK FEA in a configuration described as Junction to Case heating. Using transient temperature simulation with parametric sweeping a dataset of heating curves was created for every transistor configuration. The heating curves were transformed to their time-constant spectrum representation using algorithms described in JEDEC standards implemented in Python for diploma thesis’s purpose. The time constant spectrum of each heating curve was simplified into two element Foster network and converted to Cauer ladder. For each parameter sweeping, an interpolation function of the ladder element was fitted. The scalable thermal model was constructed using the interpolation functions and simulated in LTSpice. The results from LTSpice simulation were compared against the FEA simulations.
Ray Tracing Software For Radiation Analysis Of Electronic Components
Klement, Matej
This article presents software for calculation of ionising and non-ionising radiationreceived by a component. The software evaluates surrounding shielding provided by user-definedmodel of a shielding box. It utilises ray tracing method to simulate and measure the trajectories ofparticles, which are assumed to be traveling in a straight line.
