Zpracování kartografických dokumentů: Metodika pro katalogizaci, digitalizaci a zpřístupnění mapových sbírek v paměťových institucích
Pacek, Miloš ; Žabička, Petr ; Chodějovská, Eva
Předkládaná metodika nabízí paměťovým institucím doporučený postup pro nakládání s kartografickými dokumenty. Tento druh dokumentů představuje specifickou část materiálu ve fondech paměťových institucí a zvlášť kvůli potřebě efektivnějšího zpřístupnění prostřednictvím prostorového vyhledávání vyžaduje zvláštní přístup při popisování a procesu digitalizace. Poznatky a doporučené postupy vycházejí ze zkušeností získaných během v minulosti řešených projektů, kdy byly vyvinuty a v praxi otestovány online nástroje určené ke zrychlení a standardizaci odborného popisu těchto dokumentů. Jednalo se o projekty VISK Staré mapy online a TEMAP, během kterých byly navíc připraveny i metodiky poprvé konkrétně upravující jednotlivé aspekty práce v této specifické oblasti.

Baroque landscaping. Comparing the Schlicksʼ and Saxe-Lauenburgsʼ attitude
Vokurka, Michal ; Zdichynec, Jan (advisor) ; Chodějovská, Eva (referee)
Studying the early modern landscape during the baroque period was often linked to some kind of idealization of the relationship between the pre-modern man and the landscape they lived in. On the example of the 17 Saxe-Lauenburg manor districts I pointed out that the approach to the landscape used to be more functional and pragmatic than the existing literature assumed. The aristocratic representation and power legitimization was historically emphasised by building the landscape after the Thirty Years' War as well the dominancy of Catholicism. Comparing activities of the Saxe-Lauenburgs with the Schlick family and their exceptional composed landscape around Kopidlno, Staré Hrady and Veliš some common and particular trends in the making of landscape became apparent.
Information system for easy access of the First Military Survey
Pacina, J. ; Chodějovská, Eva ; Popelka, J.
The First Military Survey is a unique collection of maps and descriptive information covering the whole former Austrian monarchy dating back to 1760s-1780s. The First Military Survey contains of both cartographic and textual material. The description of landscape according to the individual sections of the 1:28 800 map was carried out simultaneously with the map. The texts in every section are strictly structured into description of municipalities, “Extract” where the entire region is summarized by subjects and index of places. The aim of this project is to turn this comprehensive cartographic work into a digital library offering the user all the information contained in the original work in a comfort internet environment. The old maps are carefully georeferenced into a seamless map and the descriptive information is processed into a database. The resulting information system will be available in Czech and German as all the texts are being carefully translated.
Travel Guidebooks to Prague, 1789-1914: Production, Authors, Collective Memory.
Pojar, Vojtěch ; Hojda, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Chodějovská, Eva (referee)
(in English): This study analyses Prague travel guides created in the course of the "long" 19th century. In the beginning, I outline the development of travel guides in the examined period with respect to their authors and targeted audience, and put them into the broader context of social modernisation. Subsequently, I introduce agents who stood at the birth of travel guides and demonstrate how their intentions changed within the context of the rise of modern nationalism and mass tourism. Relaying on the concept of collective memory suggested by sociologist Maurice Halbwachs, the last part of the work is based on the assumption that modernisation process enforced changes in this collective memory and that tourist guides mediate access to these past memories. That is why in these guides I focus on the question how memories of social groups relating to various "places of memory" were changing during modernisation. In this way, the presented study aims to contribute to the appreciation of travel guides as a historical source, while at the same time it offers insights on their possible scholarly utilisation.
Notata, quae intra proficiscendum Romam et redeundum vidi vel audivi. Travel records of the priest Matthias Stanislaus Heitzmann about his pilgrimage to Rome in 1659
Šitinová, Ivana ; Hojda, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Chodějovská, Eva (referee)
The bachelor's thesis deals with travel records of the priest Matthias Stanislaus Heitzmann from Polná, which he wrote up after his pilgrim's journey to Rome in 1659. These notes form part of a manuscript deposited in the State District Archive in Jihlava in the collection of the Dean's Office Polná. The notes are written predominantly in Latin, but partly also in German and Italian. They include descriptions of sacral buildings, enumerations of holy remains deposited there and descriptions of miraculous effects of various preparations and miraculous crosses. A significant part of the notes are moral stories that the author heard during his pilgrimage. The objective of the thesis is to comment on the entire text, to evaluate it as a historical source and to analyze a relationship between the author and his work.
"A universally usable, exceptionally diligent, accurate and reliable officer": the forgotten historical geographer and archivist Josef Paldus and his involvement in the Czechoslovak-Austrian archive separation
Chodějovská, Eva
Many details were known about Josef Paldus´s (1863-1937) life, but none has offered a complete bibliography and a comprehensive curriculum vitae, which would include all the periods of his life and his rich activities. The aim of this paper is to fullfil the gap. Josef Paldus, a military man, who served in the Austrian State Archives in the Department of Cartography (Kriegsarchiv), participated in the Czechoslovak-Austrian archive separation and was one of the most important fellow worker of Zdeněk Wirth in the 1920s and 1930s. Moreover, he was a patriot of his native town Gablonz (Jablonec nad Nisou).
