This Bachelor thesis entitled Holy Mass and small children is aimed at families with children taking part in Mass and it also outlines some possibilities how to bring the Mass effectively to small children and how to get them involved. When writing about small children I mean the children up to the age of six. It also deals with various ways of celebrating Mass and mainly Mass with small children and forms of children`s active participation in the Eucharist. From the point of view of developmental psychology the thesis specifies children`s abilities in different ages. Olivier Messiaen and his organ works
Zahrádková, Marie ; TŮMA, Jaroslav (advisor) ; POPELKA, Josef (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with a prominent French composer, organist and pedagogue Olivier Messiaen and his organ works. The first part of the thesis brings relevant biographic information on the composer, overview of his works, compositional inspiration and specifies facets and components of Messiaens?s musical language (rhythm, harmony, melody, forms). In the following part, the focus of the thesis shifts to organ works: not merely to composition techniques but primarily to more thorough analysis of particular sheet music ? not however from the traditional musical-analytic perspective, but rather from outside-of-music, often theological context. The main goal of the thesis is to gain an insight into the core of Messiaens?s composition techniques, inspirations and motivations through the understanding of his music language as well as his life and philosophical perspectives. Uniqueness of this creator will be demonstrated by the analysis of the Gregorian melodies, Bible quotations and liturgical texts of the pieces ?Priere avant la communio? and ?La Nativité du Seigneur.?
Petr Eben - choral inspiration the organ works
Zahrádková, Marie ; Tůma, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Černý, Pavel (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with composer, organist, pianist and a great pedagogue Petr Eben (1929 - 2007) and his pieces with choral inspirations. Petr Eben chose Roman Catholic liturgical chant - the Gregorian chant, which played important role for him, as a corner-stone of his numerous pieces. He took interest in both the musical components (melodics, rhytmics) and the content and spiritual aspects of this chant. In his extensive work he was able to employ all of his experiences gained through listening and studying the chant. In this thesis I focus on the issue of coexistence of modern musical language with the oldest musical origins through influence of contemporary musical means connected with historical musical experience that we see in Eben´s work. In addition to revealing of choral citations in Eben´s organ pieces, I focus on the principles of working with gregorian, protestant and saint Wenceslas chant.

My bachelor work is about the men{\crq}s knowledge about the problem of the urinary incontinence. Many people suffer from this urinary incontinence. It{\crq}s especially the health problem of older people. But this incontinence is the diagnosis concerning both women and men, also children and this disease negatively influences their life. It{\crq}s condition whereat a man can{\crq}t alone regulate his urinaring. The urinary incontinence is jointed with considerable physical, psychic, social and economie stress. The incontinence patients often lose their self-respect, first-quality life and social- intercourse. They often give up their common life. The social structure , the relationship of husband and wife, the vocational integration and the satisfaction are injured. The urinary incontinence is the intimate problem and we can{\crq}t or we don{\crq}t want to speak about it. My work includes the classification, diagnostic, the cure of incontinence and the special incontinence instruments for men. It was taken up the quantitative research. The adopted method was the question-form. The collection of information took place in 3 ambulances of the general practitioners in the town České Budějovice. The men age of more than 30 years old were as the research team in this boron, who visited these chosen ambulances in the days of 17.1.-28.2. 2007. The question-forms were given accidentally. This research should be certify or confute this hypothesis: the men haven{\crq}t information about the problem of the urinary incontinence. The hypothesis was certified. The project was fulfilled. Fact is that ware questioned men embraced ware information about the urinare incontinence and they also think, that the information about this problem is very insufficient. The both of abonents had never available the information materials the urinary incontinence. We must improve the quality of information and it will be better to produce and to distribute ware and ware brochures about this disease. Then the general public can read them in the waiting rooms, in the geriatrics ambulances. The nurses should supply the relevant information and to help people. I also believe, that my work will help for the general public, too.
