Production testing equipment
Vokřál, Jiří ; Musil, Vladislav (referee) ; Hejátková, Edita (advisor)
The thesis introduces the design of a test device for preassembled mechatronic cylindrical locks. The device is designed to test the mechanical and electronic parts which ensure minimisation of loss caused by poor preassembling or defect due to electronic parts. Since the defect will only come to realisation upon the complete product testing, the time of complete dismounting, exchange and assembly of the mechatronic parts would be saved and also time required for the final test of the whole product on the device would be saved.
Residential Complex in Brno - Komín
Stejskal, Ivo ; Vokřál, Jiří (referee) ; Makovský, Zdeněk (advisor)
In concept, I was inspired Komín village square. This is a quality structure (not only in the Komín), which has survived for more than 700 years, although she was originally an agricultural, has no problem to adapt to today's needs. I tried to maintain a hierarchy of spaces from the street to the garden, that garden I designed joint. This sharing should lead to greater communication between people. From longitudinal originally agricultural buildings that make up the square, I took some basic principles that creates this structure. From longitudinal houses, which form the square, I took some basic principles that creates this structure. The walls and roof houses are designed from "reinforced concrete sandwich". The aim was to make the house served as a whole and also to residential ensemble acted as a single entity against the environment. Brutality concrete exterior contrasts with the landscape, particularly with Palackého vrch, and trying to get into balance. Rawness of concrete in interior highlights the comfort of our time trying to break away from it.
Dance in Brno
Ledvina, Matěj ; Vokřál, Jiří (referee) ; Galeová, Nicol (advisor)
Aim of this particular master thesis is to embrace a new typology and building type intertwining theatre, library, and flats for the guest artists. All of those connected in one building tied to Brno’s ringstrasse. Theatre embodied.

Computational and Experimental analysis of Effect of Tonillectomy on Production of Czech Vowels
Švancara, P. ; Vokřál, J. ; Horáček, Jaromír
The effect of tonsillectomy on production of Czech vowels is numerically and experimentally examined. Experimental results show statistically significant shift down to lower frequencies of 3rd formant frequency for vowels /a/, /e/ and /o/. The finite element (FE) models of the acoustic spaces corresponding to the human vocal tracts and acoustic space around the human head are used in numerical simulations of phonation. Computed results show that tonsillectomy causes frequency shifts of some formant frequencies mostly down to lower frequencies. The frequency shifts of the formants are significantly dependent on position and size of th tonsils. Experimental and computational results are consistent.
Influence of tonsillectomy on voice and 3D mathematical models
Vokřál, J. ; Černý, L. ; Lavička, L. ; Švancara, Pavel ; Horáček, Jaromír
After the phoniatric examination the tape-recording of voice was carried out on 14 patients (6male, 8 female, age from 16 to 39 years) in a studio. The second recording was performed appproximately 1 month after tonsillectomy. Patients phonated five Czech vowels /a:/, /e:/, /i:/, /o:/, /u:/. The acoustic analysis was performed by Multi-Dimensional Voice Program and the position of the first four formants was evaluated. The finite element (FE) models of the acoustic spaces corresponding to the human vocal tract for the Czech vowels /a:/ and /i:/ were used in the mathematical modelling. The acoustic resonant characteristics of the FE models were studied by modal and transient analyses. The acoustic analyses were realised by the software code SYSNOISE.
Relation between own voice perception and skull vibrations
Vokřál, J. ; Horáček, Jaromír ; Černý, L. ; Veselý, Jan
Human own voice is percepted differently by speaker via air and bone conduction. The main aim of previous studies was to find out transfer function between these two ways of listening. Psychoacoustics methods, which were used mostly, gave relatively high differences between different subjects. Simultaneous recording of subject voice and vibrations of skull was used in your study. Low-pass filter effects found in vibrational spectra correspond to the psychoacoustics studies. These findings could be helpful in studying of self-perception of voice colour, the investigation of signer voice, the remediation of articulation disorders.
