Preliminary geotechnical investigation

The bachelor thesis deals with a preliminary geotechnical research. The goal is to assess the suitability of soils for the implementation of a homogeneous dam of a small water reservoir. The research started with searching the area followed by the exploratory part consisting of the samples collection by the field drills. The main part of this work focuses on laboratory tests aimed to determine the composition of the underlying soils and their properties. In the end, there are a comprehensive evaluation of the test results and a comparison of the results with data from an accredited laboratory that tested soils from the same location.

Netradiční druhy masa a jejich využití pro potravinářské účely

This thesis deals with non-traditional meats and their use for food purposes. Specifically, there are 5 species, namely crocodile, ostrich, buffalo, llama and capybara. These meats are suitable as an alternative to commonly consumed meats, but also as a dietary diversification. In some cases, they are healthier, more nutritious, more dietetically appropriate and more appealing in terms of taste. Their disadvantage is their low availability and often high price. In the food industry, they are used in the same way as commercially available meats for the production of canned meat, sausages, semi-finished products, smoked meat products, dried meat and also directly in restaurants for steaks.

Attitude toward physical activity in children of age 8 - 10 years using a questionnaire CATPA Grade/Year 3

Title: Attitude toward Physical Activity in Children of Age 8-10 Years Objectives: Main goal of the paper is to examine and then compare attitudes towards physical activities for school children of age 8 - 10 years using a questionnaire CATPA Grade/Year 3 in 2014/2015. The survey was done in small towns Žamberk and Letohrad. I have also compared observed results to other surveys made during previous years. Methods: The survey of attitude toward physical activity was done in grade 3 and 4 of elementary schools in Žamberk and Letohrad in June 2015. I have used a data questionnaire known as CATPA Grade/Year 3. The research was done in cooperation with master teachers according to provided guidelines. I have obtained opinions from 176 pupils (104 boys and 72 girls). Results: I compared six attitudes of boys and girls and I have found differences especially in X5 - aesthetic dimension (higher value in set of girls) and X3 - danger dimension (higher value in set of boys). Furthermore, I observed differences between sport-living town and a town without sport enthusiasm.
