Female Leaders and Their Contribution for a Company
Nováková, Hana ; Výmola, Petr (referee) ; Rašticová, Martina (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the issue of women in managerial positions in a selected construction company. It analyzes the situation of women in the company, gender in the management and gender integration in the company. The specific problems of women in this company’s management are characterized on a basis of a survey. At the end of this thesis there are practical suggestions regarding how women can assert themselves on managerial positions with possible contribution to the company.
Information System Proposal
Výmola, Petr ; Šmerda, Jiří (referee) ; Koch, Miloš (advisor)
Because of a growing number of services offered by the Masaryk University to its students, and because of the ever-changing legislation of the Czech Republic, a need for an implementation of a new information system, capable of processing payments for university’s services, has arisen. The goal of this thesis is to analyse the current condition of payments at the university, consider users’ demands, choose an appropriate information system and project its implementation. It is utterly necessary to keep the costs of implementation at acceptable levels and above all the system must be able to be operated without the need for new employees. The proposed system must be universal because of various natures of services offered and goods sold, as well as it must be efficient. It is required that the system will be able to handle the growth of both number of clients and provided services.
Role of Fibroblast activation protein expressing stromal mesenchymal cells in microenvironment of brain tumors
Výmola, Petr ; Balážiová, Eva (advisor) ; Szabo, Pavol (referee)
High-grade astrocytic tumours are aggressive primary brain malignancies, from which the most malignant and the most common is glioblastoma multiforme with median survival 15 months. Fibroblast activation protein (FAP) is a serine protease possessing both endo- and exopeptidase activity. Its restricted and increased expression in pathological conditions makes it a promising target for the development of new diagnostic or therapeutic approaches. Previous results of our laboratory and of other authors confirm expression of FAP in high-grade astrocytic tumours, where FAP is expressed by perivascular population of stromal mesenchymal cells. The aim of this diploma thesis was to analyse the role of FAP positive primary stromal mesenchymal cultures in neovascularisation and extracellular matrix (ECM) deposition in glioblastoma microenvironment. The results of this thesis describe proangiogenic effect of FAP positive stromal mesenchymal cells derived from human glioblastoma tissue. Using conditioned media, it was proven, that this effect is realized by factors secreted by these cells, even though results of in vivo assay on chorioallantoid membrane, where direct cell-to-cell contact of all involved cell types (tumor associated FAP positive mesenchymal cells, endothelial cells, glioma cells) is assumed,...

Mechanisms of neovascularization in glioblastoma
Výmola, Petr ; Balážiová, Eva (advisor) ; Brábek, Jan (referee)
Neovascularization processes are crucial components for proper develop of multicellular organisms. They are necessary part of body growth. Because of them, body tissues are suply by nutrition and oxygen. Unfortunately in the same way like in the healthy body these processes also help in tumor growth and progression. That is the reason why neoplazmatic neovascularization is being investigated as a possible target of antitumor therapies. One of the greatest level of tumor vacularization is asociated with glioblastoma, the most common primary tumor of human brain. There are a severel aims of this thesis. First of all, discuss mechanisms of neovascularizatin under physiological conditions and introduce factors which are involved in this complex proces. Second part of this thesis payd attention on specific glioblastoma nevascularization mechanisms and provides a brief overview of possible antiangiogenesis therapeutic approaches.
