CFD simulation of centrifugal pump working as a turbine (PaT) - influence of impeller side wall gaps on simulation results
Tomšej, Radek ; Zemanová, Lucie (referee) ; Štefan, David (advisor)
This master‘s thesis deals with a centrifugal pump running in reverse (turbine) mode, often called “pump-as-turbine”. The introduction lists basic principles and information about the direct (pump) and reverse modes. Several methodologies for predicting reverse operating point and efficiency evolution are used and compared with simulation results. Using CFD simulations, results obtained with simplified (excluding impeller side wall gaps) and complete geometry (including impeller side wall gaps) are assessed. Furthermore, the results of impeller trimming are evaluated with an aim to find the maximum power and efficiency. Impeller side wall gaps effect is analyzed in terms of friction torque and power loss.
Dynamic properties of thermometers
Tomšej, Radek ; Závorka, Dalibor (referee) ; Himr, Daniel (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with temperature measurement. The introduction describes the individual methods including the principles on which the methods are based. Furthermore, it presents the suitability of these individual methods, including the properties of thermometers based on the given methods. The experimental part of the thesis evaluates the practical measurement of temperature and proposes the design methods of determining the temperature in a time much faster than the response time of the thermometer.

Local e-government strategy
Tomšej, Radek ; Gála, Libor (advisor) ; Hrabě, Pavel (referee)
E-government is a term that in the Czech and world dictionary naturalized. Many international institutions and national entities engaged in e-government, prepares the strategy and monitors its development. Despite the advantages that e-government provides to states and cities, there is no comprehensive and standardized approach that would facilitate the preparation of strategies for both international and local levels of government. The local level is increasingly getting into the spotlight. It is close to citizens and therefore knows their needs. Citizens also come into contact with local levels of government more often. This is the main reason why consider local e-government. Its implementation needs many resources, projects are often implemented in the long term, and therefore the e-government should be approached systematically. This systematic way to make municipal e-government is represented by a local strategy, which is described in this thesis. The goal is to design the structure and content of local e-government strategy for basic local government units, including the process of its creation, and verification of the theoretical findings on example of the village Sudoměřice The main benefits of the work can be seen in the general definition of local e-government strategy, its structure, process and inputs required for its formation. A secondary benefit is the creation of local e-government strategy for the village Sudoměřice, which should verify that the process and structure can be applied to small and medium-sized municipalities.
Measuring efficiency of software projects
Tomšej, Radek ; Chocholatý, Drahomír (advisor) ; Gála, Libor (referee)
This thesis is aimed to possibilities of measuring of software projects efficiency. This efficiency is measurable by one-dimensional indexes, which are not capable to describe the complexity of software development, or multi-dimensional indexes. Multi-dimensionality gives you possibilities how to detect weak aspects of software project. The first part is dedicated to project characteristics, triple constraint and specifics of software development. The second part describes one-dimensional and multi-dimensional indexes, their advantages and disadvantages, and also work efficiency influences. The main contribution of this thesis is to show practical illustration of using multiple indexes of work efficency and to describe their influential factors.
