Magnetic measurement of fatigue damage level of ferromagnetic construction materials
Tomáš, Ivan ; Vejvoda, S. ; Kovářík, O.
Main principles of the lately introduced method of Magnetic Adaptive Testing (MAT) are described. The method is applied to measurement of the fatigue damage level and residual lifetime of technical objects manufactured from ferromagnetic construction materials. The up-to-now existing experiments and experience gave satisfactory and promissing results.
Tests of thermal and radiation embrittlement of reactor steel 15CH2MFA
Dvořáková, M. ; Kadlecová, Jana ; Konop, R. ; Tomáš, Ivan ; Vértesy, G.
Results are presented of mechanical destructive and magnetic nondestructive tests of the 15Ch2MFA steel, used for pressure vessels of the VVER40 reactor type. Two series of samples were tested: (i) samples, embrittled by a special thermal processing, and (ii)samples, embrittled in a reactor by high fluences of neutron radiation. Results of mechanical impact Charpy tests are compared with results of Magnetic Adaptive Testing carried out on the two sample series. The existence of mutual correlation between the two types of examination indicates alternative of replacement of the mechanical destructive tests of classical surveillance samples by magnetic tests, which are nondestructive.
Barkhausen noise testing of surface decarburization of steel
Stupakov, Oleksandr ; Tomáš, Ivan ; Skrbek, L.
Magnetic Barkhausen noise technique was tested for applicability of non-destructive charaterization of the decarburized layer depth. A newly introduced parameter, Barkhausen noise coercivity, was proposed for practical use due to its sensitivity to the tested decarburization and its stability to the measurement conditions.
Magnetické adaptivní testování jako indikátor radiačního poškození feromagnetické oceli
Tomáš, Ivan ; Skrbek, B.
The lately introduced method of Magnetic Adaptive Testing (MAT) offers a promising alternative to destructive Charpy tests, commonly used for motoring quality of nuclear reactors pressure vessel steel degraded by irradiation. MAT is non-destructive, simple and highly sensitive, and it is ideally suited even for in-situ magnetic tests inside the hot nuclear pressure vessels.
Optimizované magnetické testování feromagnetických konstrukčních materiálů
Tomáš, Ivan ; Kadlecová, Jana ; Stupakov, Oleksandr ; Skrbek, B.
An example of application of Magnetic Adaptive Testing method on cast iron samples is presented. The method is shown to utilize magnetic hysteresis measurement, but shifts the focus towards multi-parametric analysis, achieving at the same time higher sensitivity and requiring lower magnetization of the samples than the traditional measurement.
Magnetic local measurement of state of thermal refined steel
Skrbek, B. ; Tomáš, Ivan
Magnetic methods application (coercitive force measurement, magnetic induction, MAT, magnetic spot method) investigation of steel structure in the world and Czech Republic. New knowledge of magnetic spot method for application on steels. Principle of magnetic spot method. Results comparison obtained on machined, non-heat-treated, heat-treated and corroded surface. Determination of boundary application conditions. Particular results at appropriation of hardness checking of hardened and tempered sheets and forgings at hardening shop. Recommendation.
Ultrasound and electromagnetic rapid tests of modification effect spheroidal or vermicular graphite cast irons manufacturing
Skrbek, B. ; Nosek, V. ; Tomáš, Ivan ; Stupakov, Oleksandr
Measurement of speed of sound in a wedge samople immediately after the eutectic reaction is finished. Measurement of electric resistance of a ring sample during the eutectic reaction. Outlook for magnetic tests.
Structure diagnostic by controlled magnetization
Skrbek, B. ; Nosek, V. ; Tomáš, Ivan
Two magnetic structuroscopic methods, applicable for Fe-based ferromagnetic alloysare discussed and presented on examples. The method of Magnetic Adaptive Testing and the method of magnetic surface spot are show on samples of steel and cast iron in practice.
Optimalizace charakteristiky materiálu pomocí adaptivního testování
Vértesy, G. ; Tomáš, Ivan ; Mészáros, I.
A new procedure, called Adaptive Testing was applied for non-destructive characterization of cold-rolled austenitic stainless steel samples. The flat samples were magnetized by an attached yoke, and sensitive, reliable descriptors of their plastic deformation strain were obtained.
