Level of knowledge of members of the Fire Rescue Service of the South Bohemian Region and the Police of the Czech Republic in the South Bohemian Region in the field of providing first aid in the case of emergency
TUREČKOVÁ, Lucie
The diploma thesis offers an insight into the issues of first aid. The theoretical part describes the history of first aid, its legal basis and the distribution of first aid. Furthermore, the thesis describes the general procedure for providing first aid, the principles of safety in providing first aid and basic examination of the affected person's health are mentioned. The next chapter of this paper is devoted to dangerous injuries and conditions and their treatment. This chapter is followed by a description and solution to an emergency with a large number of injured. For psychological support is often needed at the scene of an emergency, a chapter on first psychological assistance is added into the thesis. The last chapters of the thesis are devoted to the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic and the Police of the Czech Republic. The research part of the diploma thesis defines the methods and goals of own research and the results, which are then discussed in the discussion. The main goal of the thesis was to find out whether members of the Fire Rescue Service of the South Bohemian Region and members of the Police of the Czech Republic in the South Bohemian Region have sufficient knowledge in the field of first aid at the scene of an emergency. Part of this goal was also to answer research questions: Does the knowledge of members of the Fire Rescue Service of the South Bohemian Region reach 90% in the given issue? Does the knowledge of members of the Police of the Czech Republic in the South Bohemian Region reach the same level as the knowledge of members of the Fire Rescue Service of the South Bohemian Region in the given issue? To determine this information, a questionnaire survey was used, in which a total of 125 members of the surveyed units participated. The research has revealed that the knowledge of members of the Fire Rescue Service of the South Bohemian Region does not reach the necessary limits and is therefore low. The knowledge of members of the Police of the Czech Republic in the South Bohemian Region reaches a lower level than the knowledge of members of the Fire Rescue Service of the South Bohemian Region.
Association of selected polymorphisms with clock genes with a extreme chronotypes
Turečková, Lucie ; Bendová, Zdeňka (advisor) ; Weissová, Kamila (referee)
The circadian system has evolved in organisms as an adaptation to periodic changes in the environment. Its task is to ensure regular entrainment between the solar cycle and the internal period of the organism, and to generate signals that synchronize behavioral and physiological processes in the body with the solar cycle. The whole mechanism takes place at the cell level, where there are regular oscillations of the transcriptional translation loops of the clock genes occur within 24 hours, thus ensuring a regular rhythm of the organism. However, the circadian system may not generate the same length of period in humans and may differ in the degree of entrainment with the external cycle. Base on that there are developed so-called individual time preferences. These different preferences are referred to as chronotypes, which fall into five categories: extremely evening, moderate evening, intermediate, moderate morning, and extremely morning type. Clock gene polymorphisms are considered to be one of the possible causes of these differences. The association of selected clock gene polymorphisms with extreme chronotypes is the subject of this diploma thesis. We obtained a saliva sample for DNA isolation from volunteers with extreme chronotypes. Using molecular methods of PCR, restriction digest and...
Parkinson's disease and circadian system
Turečková, Lucie ; Škrabalová, Jitka (advisor) ; Černá, Barbora (referee)
Parkinson's disease is one of the incurable and not fully understood disease. This disease is developing due to the loss of dopaminergic neurons in the basal ganglia. Dopamine in the basal ganglia indirectly affects motor functions and transcriptional-translational loops of clock genes. Parkinson's disease is accompanied by motor and non-motor symptoms. Non-motor symptoms include, for example, circadian and sleep disorders. Circadian abnormalities are associated with a decrease of the melatonin levels and expression of the BMAL1 and Per1 clock genes at night. Sleep disorders are connected with abnormalities in NREM and REM sleep. Disruptions of the deepest stage of NREM sleep lead to the progression of motor function disorders. During REM sleep occurs a disease associated with the loss of muscular atonia, which is typical for REM sleep. This disease is called REM sleep behaviour disorder, and in many studies, it is referred to as the prodromal stage of Parkinson's disease. A drug called L-DOPA reduces the motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease, but its administration is associated with unwanted side effects. The beneficial effect also has light therapy, which is free of side effects. REM sleep behaviour disorder is treated with clonazepam, but melatonin could be more appropriate substitute, because...
Protect of Population and Biological Weapons
TUREČKOVÁ, Lucie
The bachelor thesis offers an insight into the issue of biological weapons. It is divided into several parts. The theoretical part describes the general characteristics of biological weapons. Furthermore, the history of the development of biological weapons is briefly mentioned, important milestones in this area are added, such as vaccine development. The history is followed by a description of the individual biological agents, the description of the biological agent, its effects on the organism and its inclusion in the group. Furthermore, the thesis describes the way of spreading biological agents and the ways of entry of biological agents into the body. The next chapter is devoted to international and Czech legislation governing the use of biological weapons. The last chapters are devoted to protection against biological agents, decontamination and detection and identification of biological agents. The next part, i.e. empirical, defines the methods and objectives of own research and the results that are graphically processed for clarity. Subsequently, the results are described in the discussion. The main aim of this thesis was to find out whether students of the business academy and secondary vocational school Kaplice have sufficient knowledge in the field of biological weapons. Part of this goal was also to answer the research questions: What is the knowledge of the protection of the population in the field of biological weapons and the readiness for attack by biological weapons in the students of these schools in Kaplice? Do they have a proper level of knowledge of the protection of the population in the field of the biological weapons? A questionnaire survey was used to ensure this information. Altogether 81 students participated in the survey. Research has revealed that students' knowledge of biological weapons is low, specifically in the field of protection from biological weapon attack and in biological field. Low knowledge was also in the basic characteristics of biological weapons, where complementary questions are included such as what the term epidemic means. Therefore, a measure has been proposed that can deepen knowledge in this area.
Criminal liability in environmental protection
Turečková, Lucie ; Stejskal, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Humlíčková, Petra (referee)
75 Abstract Criminal liability in environmental protection Presented dissertation deals with a very current topic, which is environmental protection through the criminal law standards. It mostly deals with criminal environmental protection instruments in the Czech Republic and puts them into the international and European context. It describes the conditions of a criminal liability with an emphasis on the criminal liability of the legal persons, a new element in Czech law. A big part of this dissertation is dedicated to the individual environmental crimes, which can be found in the criminal code in a part VIII or in another parts within the special part. Two chapters are dedicated to analysis of the two crimes in detail - Damage and threats of the environment (including its negligent forms) and Animal abuse including the historical development of it. The aim of this dissertation is an analysis of actual and efficient legal regulation.
