REQUIREMENTS OF RECORDING DIRECTION IN THE DIGITAL MULTICHANNEL RECORDING PROCESS

Recording direction became during 20-century full-fledgede artistic profession.
It has developed next to the recording technology from the first hints alongside the
phonofraph up to indespensable part of the digital multichannel recording process. Its
story has filled the lives of many significant personalities, especially composers,
conductors, musicologists. Theirs artificial credit corresponds the difficulty, ensuing
the principle of the sound record – mirror of the musical composition and its unique
interpretation. The interest to research the spirit of recording direction has emerged
from vagues opinions about function of the recording direciton and the sound
engineer. Where are theirs mutual boundaries.
The listening of a record doesn’t show the influence of the recording direction
during its creation. It is possible to co mpare to day knowledge of recording direction
posture with the memoirs important personalities artificial world and recording
industy. Historical sources and literature are next to the historial recordings only
sources of information.
The mapping of all the activities of the recording direction and detailed
classification rice a division, innternally strongly linked with phases of recording
process and types of recordings. They are parallel actions with high pretention of
concentration. Umbrella – feature of recording direction is psychology of the
communication with the interpreters and the members of recording crew. The
recording direction is a part of the recording proces even out of big procuctions of
complicated projects. Recorded music needs the supervision and to be assessed
from the point of view of the sound quality and musical content of the interpretation,
which are stored in the record unchangeable. Recording direction is latently present
in every recording project, albeit done by some other vicarious person.

INTERPRETATION AND SOUND RENDITION OF THE RECORDINGS OF SMETANA´S QUARTET IN E MINOR

The goal of this study is an interpretative and sound analysis of the recordings of Smetana's quartet in E minor, "From My Life". For this purpose recordings of The Bohemian Quartet, The Smetana Quartet, The Lindsay String Quartet, The Skampa Quartet and The Pavel Haas Quartet were selected. By a method of analysis, we determined character of the components involved in the impression of the composition and then we compared the individual outputs. The results provide a comprehensive view on these issues.

Influence of recording on music interpretation development

The main objective of my thesis is finding the relationship between music recording and interpretation. I am trying to prove the recording process had important role in music evolution.
Definition and position of record in past and present becomes a main subject of my interest. I am comparing differences between perception of recording and live concert. I am going to find out how much was the artist constrained to adapt his music expression to the needs of recording.
The most important methodology of my work is analysis of records from various stages of technology development. By my hearing I assess information; the analyzed recording can give me.

The Interpretative analysis of Schubert's song cycle " Winter Journey"

This bachelor's thesis deals at first with interpretative matters of Franz Schubert's
song cycle Winter Journey. Its main goal is to compare different interpretations of
baritones: Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau, Matthias Goerne and Gerhard Hüsch. It also
contains a chapter on Franz Schubert and his works. It deals with genre of chamber
music songs before Schubert and then with the influence of Schubert's songs on
works of his followers. Its focus is to analyze of each song of Winter Journey including
a critical perspective on the musical text and its relationship with the original. It is
intened also about the specifics of recording vocal music.
