This bachelor thesis focuses on identifying the factors which influence the mort-gage interest rate, with particular emphasis upon the factors which the loan applicant may change themselves. This thesis will also describe the development of the mortgage market from 2010 to 2013 and discuss the position of one particular loan provider at the time. The theoretical chapter describe the mortgage loan, its legislative definition, types of mortgage loans and the interest rate. The second chapter aims to describe the econometric modelling algorithm and regression analysis. The third chapter practically portrays the way in which data is processed using the least squares method. The multivariate regression model proves that the mortgage interest rate is most influenced by loan-to-value ratio, fixation of the interest rate and type of mortgage loan. The results offer options which might help a loan applicant to reduce his mortgage interest rate.
