Citizenship of the European Union: Its development, use and perspectives after Brexit
Rampas, Jan ; Kunertová, Tereza (referee)
in English language: The thesis deals with the Institute of Citizenship of the European Union. It follows the first of its origins, the institutional framework and the definition of its content to then focus on the contemporary problems faced by this institution in its application and the use of this specific type of citizenship as one of the possible solutions to the problematic legal status of EU citizens and citizens of the United Kingdom after Brexit. The author puts forward suggestions for addressing the different groups of people whose position changes significantly after Brexit, especially with regard to their place of residence, nationality and whether or not they will still be citizens of a Member State of the European Union after Brexit or not. The author presents possible solutions to the problems that such a state of uncertainty brings with references to case law, current professional literature, and also takes into account the course of Brexit bargaining. He also submits proposals for a new definition of EU citizenship and its possible use to protect the rights of British citizens on the territory of EU Member States after Brexit, but also for Union citizens who are in the same time living, working or studying in Great Britain. Attention is also paid to the specific area of Northern...

Hannover between Great Britain and Prussia
Rampas, Jan ; Županič, Jan (advisor) ; Skřivan, Aleš (referee)
in English language: This thesis deals with the political and economic development of the Kingdom of Hanover as an example of a medium-sized state in the German Confederation. In addition to its relationship with Great Britain, with which was Hanover associated in personal union in the years 1714-1837, a new definition of relations between these states before 1866 and the annexation of Hanover by Prussia are also discussed, as well as the impact of the significant events in Europe in that time on the functioning of the Guelph domain. Closer to be discussed are the personalities of British Queen Victoria and Hanoverian King and Duke of Cumberland Ernest August, who were key actors at the end of the personal union in 1837, and in addressing the sensitive political issues that followed. Apart from the emphasis on political history, this thesis also deals with economic history, primarily in connection with Hanover's relationship with the German Customs Association (Zollverein). This institution, guarded by Prussia, represented to Hanover in certain stages of its development as an independent kingdom, first of all, competition and then a path to the short-term solution of its internal problems. Above all, however, this was one of the many situations where Hanoverian interests clashed with the interests...

Rampas, Jan ; Županič, Jan (advisor) ; Stellner, František (referee)
in English language: This work pursuits the evolution of the so-called Hanoverian factor in British politics of the 18th and early 19th centuries, with particular regard to the specific interests of George III. to this territory. From the perspective of Great Britain and Hanover are shown key events which affected the functioning of the personal union between these two states, as well as is discussed the role played by the British monarch George III. regarding his status as Elector of the Holy Roman Empire. Using published sources and literature, the work seeks to show the change in attitude of George III. to Hanover between the years 1760-1807, as well as to show security of Hanover from France and Prussia as important factor shaping British policy of this previously mentioned period. On the events of the Seven Years' War (in Europe from 1756 to 1763), the formation of Fürstenbund (League of Princess) in 1785, the beginning of the revolutionary turmoil in France and the subsequent progress of the French armies in the territory of the Reich work shows the changing relationship of George III. to its North German Electorate. Unfortunately for Hanover, it had often served as a tempting target for enemies of Britain and were thus in permanent danger, to which the elector had to respond. Althought it is...
