Otakar Kubín and Paris
Zimová, Charlotte ; Rakušanová, Marie (advisor) ; Pravdová, Anna (referee)
This bachelor's thesis thus collects data regarding the contacts of the Czech painter Otakar Kubín with Paris. This information is sometimes difficult to find and often contains a number of inconsistencies, which this work attempts to correct, organize and analyze. The issue of the work is to reveal the influence that Paris had on Kubín's work and also the possible retroactive effect that the artist could have had on the Parisian environment. Through the method of formal analysis of the works of art and placing them in the context of Parisian events of the time, the key role that Paris played in the context of Kubín's life and work is portrayed. Thanks to his work in Paris, Kubín earned recognition not only in his homeland, but also in France. At the same time, he became a link in the network of contacts between Prague and Paris, facilitating the flow of artistic exchange on the route Paris-Prague, but also Prague- Paris.

Jarolímková, Klára ; Klimešová, Marie (advisor) ; Pravdová, Anna (referee)
The Master thesis has for its objective mapping of destiny of czech comunity in Paris from sixties to eighties. Its purpose is not to get a complete list of all artists, who came to Paris. It's just a sellection of those important persons, who broke through Paris. The personal interviews play an important part of the sources. The thesis is not structured in medallion-biography way, but it is lined up in a thematic way. Most of the artists handled in their new home country withe similar problems and situations. First theoretical part characterise the period, the environment, the czech-french relations and the general phenomena of emigration in the czech historical memory. In sixties the czech-french relations started to be reanimated and many french art critics visited Czechoslovakia and they wrote about czech art. Beside France, the czech emigration refuged in sixties largely to West Germany, United States of America, Canada, austrian Wien, Swiss and nordic countries. Individuals art centres were connected to others by friendships and artists visited themselves. Second and more extensive part of the thesis works with the oral and witten interviews. The respondent artists are Miloš Cvach, Roman Kameš, Karel Machálek-Zlín, Miloslav Moucha, Vladimír Škoda, Ivan Theimer and art historian Jana Claverie....
De Stijl and Czech avant-garde art of the 1920's and 1930's
Pražanová, Kristýna ; Lahoda, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Pravdová, Anna (referee)
The diploma thesis De Stijl and Czech Avant-Garde Art of the 1920's and 1930's focuses on the Dutch art movement De Stijl (1917-1931) and the relationship of its protagonists to the Czech avant-garde scene of the inter-war era; both on the practical as well as theoretical level. The work aims to examine the as yet rather insufficiently mapped interconnection between the creative output of De Stijl's artists, led by the movement founder Theo van Doesburg, and the body of work of Czech artists active in the First Czechoslovak Republic period. The crucial part of the text is grounded in the works of Theo van Doesburg and Karel Teige, leading personalities of the inter-war art scene of the aforementioned countries. The thesis concentrates on selected thematic areas of their wide scope of interests: typography, film, Bauhaus and architecture.

Arnošt Hofbauer (1869-1944)
Novotná, Tereza ; Rakušanová, Marie (advisor) ; Pravdová, Anna (referee)
Arnošt Hofbauer (1869 - 1944) The theme of this Bachelor thesis comes from my interest in art from the year 1900. The most famous solitaires were many times spoken of recantly so I chose a less known artist, but not less interesting one who was concerned with the cultural events as the establishment of SVU Mánes, the journal Volné Směry and realisation of the exhibition of Auguste Rodin in Prague in 1902. In individual parts I focused on diferent forms of his work, from works for the journal Volné Směry and posters for the first exhibitions of SVU Mánes, over another poster works, painting works and works in architecture to smaller graphic works and drawings. In another part I wrote about his life and his correspondence. I tried to confront his works with another display of artists who lived in the same time in Czech and in Europe and who were of various generations. In this, I tried to get file his work according to the period context. This thesis does not attempt to compile his entire art production but tries to offer a point of view of his art production, whose most progessive work was around 1900.
