Always ready
Pavlíčková, Tereza ; Blažek, Martin (referee) ; Mléčka, Jan (advisor)
In the pursuit of an adaptable, accessible, and secure form of protection to safeguard citizens against unforeseen influences, the proposal addresses the inadequate capacities and coverage of shelters for the civilian population in the Czech Republic. Three examples, illustrating the integration of these structures into the existing urban fabric, also demonstrate their ability to change function depending on current conditions, needs, and the potential for adapting the structure to the site's context. Throughout the proposal, I drew upon analyses of existing civil defense shelters in the Czech Republic, which often serve solely as passive shelters, contrasting them with shelters worldwide that are not only utilised during crises but also function as fully functional multifunctional spaces in everyday life.
The Understood Author: A hermeneutical exploration of audiences interpretation of the author as productive practices behind a text
Pavlíčková, Tereza ; Carpentier, Nico (advisor) ; Kuzmičová, Anežka (referee) ; Hermes, Joke (referee)
in English This project builds on the tradition of audience research that theoretically and empirically established that meaning is formed in the negotiation between the text and the reader, that the audiences are agentic, their interpretation of media is contextual and situated, and that they have the potential to resist the media. It argues that it is important to explore people's attention to different sources: who is listening, to whom, and why - and asks how people understand the notion of an author that they encounter in the interpretation of factual media texts, and how this interpretation is brought back into the interpretative act. The thesis subscribes to philosophical hermeneutics as an overarching theoretical as well as methodological framework to devise a concept of an understood author that is a result of the interpretative act, where the author imagined and anticipated by the reader (in the form of prior knowledge and prejudices) is encountered and actualised by the author inscribed into the text. I carried out 28 in-depth face-to-face interviews with Czechs born between 1948-1963 to explore participants' experiences and relationship with media and media authors. Employing hermeneutical analysis, the focus is not to capture what is an author, but how it happened to be so. The...
Space of cyclic change
Pavlíčková, Tereza ; Jakšík, Petr (referee) ; Rozwalka, Szymon (advisor)
The search for the ideal function and form in response to the cyclical variability of the place offers several possibilities, but each approach to the issue is different. Throughout my work, I have drawn on-site analysis and the study of theatre and concert halls. Last but not least, I have been studying the literature of Rem Koolhaas- Junkspace and the texts of Maxim Gorka, thanks to which I have been able to create a semi-open raster structure and gain a new perspective on the matter and its mutability.

PharmDr. Kateřina Vávrová, Ph.D. Supervisor: Dr. Céline Crauste Title: Synthesis of lipophenolic derivatives of hydroxytyrosol, resveratrol and phloroglucinol Lipophenols are conjugates of (poly)phenolic derivatives with a lipid moiety that are designed here to access lipophilic antioxidants. First part of this work targets olive oil lipophenols. Three new lipophenolic compounds, conjugates of hydroxytyrosol (most abundant olive oil phenol derivative) and three different unsaturated fatty acids were synthesized in two steps, in good yield and high purity. These products will be used as standards for determination of their presence in extra virgin olive oil (EVOO) and in liver samples of rats being fed by EVOO to examine possible in vivo metabolization. Second part of the work targets lipophenols as potential antioxidant and anti-carbonyl-stress agents in retinal diseases, where those factors are involved in the physiopathology. (Poly)phenols linkage to specific lipophilic FAs can increase their bioavailability, potentially...
Vztah efektivní míry zdanění příjmů fyzických osob a politicko-ekonomického cyklu v ČR
Pavlíčková, Tereza
The bachelor thesis describes the relationship between the political business cy-cle and the effective tax rate of individuals in the Czech Republic from 1993 to 2015. The aim of this thesis is to create a model specifying this relationship. The theoretical part describes the approaches to modeling the political business cycle, the current way of taxing income and its development, including social and health insurance contributions. The practical part of the thesis is consisted on an econ-ometric model which is based on calculations of effective tax rates for model tax-payers and date of parliamentary elections. The model describes the relationship between the first differences of effective tax rates and the date of parliamentary elections, which is assessed in terms of possible occurrence of the political-economic cycle.
Daňové úniky v oblasti zdaňování příjmů umělců
Pavlíčková, Tereza

In the practical part of this thesis there are analysed incomes of individual artists who provided information about their incomes for the purpose of this thesis. Moreover, there is represented the particularity of the artists’ field. At the end of this thesis, the tax evasion in this field is quantified, conclusions from it drawn and solution suggested.

Romance versus slash - evolution of reading strategies of female readers
Kalaninová, Soňa ; Pavlíčková, Tereza (advisor) ; Jakubisko, Jorik (referee)
The aim of the theses is to describe meanings, which female readers of the slash subgenre derive from it, and interpretive strategies they use to create those meanings. Slash is a type of literature that conceives or develops the same-sex romantic and sexual relationships of male characters from original media art. The subject of work study is the public of this type of literature, which is composed primarily of women. The work is based on the perspective of interpretivism and uses the concept of interpretative communities. According to this concept, meanings are being negotiated within a group of readers sharing interpretative strategies. In this work, I view slashers as an interpretive community and therefore assume that the readers' strategies and meanings will show some similarities. The technique of semi-structured interviews is used to achieve the goals of the theses. The interviews took place with nine female slashers. Data collected in this way were analyzed by the method of grounded theory.
Physiotherapy in pregnancy with a focus on a back pain
PAVLÍČKOVÁ, Tereza
This bachelor thesis deals with the theme of physiotherapy in pregnancy with a more detailed focus on back pain. In the bachelor thesis we can find changes that occur or may occur in pregnant women. Changes in metabolism, skin, alimentary canal, etc., but especially changes in the musculoskeletal system are included. These changes are the main theme of this bachelor thesis, which deals with the most frequent changes in the musculoskeletal system and their influence on the overall posture of a pregnant woman, but also on the whole body as such, which was one of the aims of my bachelor thesis. In the theoretical part can be found some physiotherapeutic methods, which can be used in pregnant women. Each of the selected methods contains a brief characteristic. Furthermore, in the theoretical part, the are physical activities that each patient can perform in their free time except of physiotherapy exercises. This part of the bachelor thesis is supplemented by moving activities that are not suitable for pregnant women and should ideally avoid them or, at least, minimize them. In the practical part I deal with four patients in the range of the second to third trimester. All examined patients suffered from back pain, ranging from mild to frequent and more severe pain especially in the lumbar region. Pains of cervical spine occurred only in one of the patients examined. Among other things, patients often emerged leg pains or ankle joints pains.
