Employment of persons with disabilities Abstract The aim of this thesis was to present the issue of employment of persons with disabilities in the Czech legal system as comprehensively as possible. Thanks to the fact that persons with disabilities constitute, according to the Czech Statistical Office, more than 10% of the population and their number is increasing, the Czech Republic has this issue quite comprehensive. Apart from the Czech legal system, this thesis also approaches the most important regulations for defining persons with disabilities in international regulation. The content of this thesis is arranged in five chapters. The first chapter introduces the basic concepts without which it is impossible to deal with this issue, namely the concept of employment and disability. The second chapter defines the category of persons with disabilities in the Czech legal system into two categories, namely disabled persons and persons with disabilities. The third chapter presents the basic definition of persons with disabilities in the most important regulations of the International Organisations. These are the International Labour Organisation, the World Trade Organization, the United Nations, the Council of Europe and the European Union. The fourth chapter is the key chapter of the whole thesis dealing with...

Nová, Kateřina ; Vidová Hladká, Barbora (advisor) ; Mírovský, Jiří (referee)
Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is a process of converting text from images to a machine-readable text. We run three OCR systems (Tesseract, Ocrad and GOCR) on an original multilingual OCR dataset and perform statistical and linguistic analysis of the results in order to compare the tested systems and investigate typical OCR errors. 1

Protection of Personal Data Prior to Employment
Nová, Karolína ; Morávek, Jakub (advisor) ; Tomšej, Jakub (referee)
Protection of Personal Data Prior to Employment Abstract The development of new technologies has completely changed the view on how personal data is being processed in labor relations. Screening job seekers on social networks or using artificial intelligence to analyze a candidate's predispositions are, at first sight, much less intense and conspicuous forms of invasion of privacy than traditional surveillance methods such as the use of security cameras. Employees and job seekers are therefore in a very disadvantageous position, which has not yet been reflected on the level of EU legislation. The legal regulation of personal data protection is very specific in its abstraction. When processing personal data, it is necessary to keep in mind the basic principles of data handling, and each processing should therefore be (among other things) purposefully limited, minimized, transparent and correct. However, these concepts are so abstract that their interpretation is the subject to countless debates even among personal data protection experts. In view of the above, it is understandable that it may be very difficult for many employers to know what specific measures of data protection are to be applied. For this reason, in practice, there is considerable formalism in the application of some institutes which stems...

Palliative care in the intensive care from the perspektive of treating staff
Nová, Kateřina ; Kulířová, Veronika (advisor) ; Dynáková, Šárka (referee)
(Aj) Introduction: Although palliative care may not seem to be part of an intense environment, it is true. Palliative approach to patients who are in resuscitation wards or intensive care units is part of a comprehensive approach in the treatment of seriously ill patients. It includes an individual and sensitive approach to a patient in a state where all available treatment options are exhausted, and further proactive steps in treatment would entail patient suffering, family hardship and, last but not least, a non-palliative treatment approach would have a negative impact to the entire nursing staff. Palliative care therefore involves not only an individual approach to the needs of the patient but also of the patient's family and loved ones. It is not a concept of care based on an individual's approach to the patient, but rather on the cooperation of the entire nursing team, ie doctors, nurses and paramedics. The palliative team working in the hospital is available to staff not only in the intensive department but also in the entire hospital, and is made up of interdisciplinary experts. A functional palliative concept in an intensive ward means benefits for the patient and his family. Although care is closely related to the negative part of the patient's life path. Palliative care saturates the...
