Authenticity and veracity of actors´s utterance
Pokorný, Vladimír ; NEBESKÝ, Jan (advisor) ; ŠIKTANCOVÁ, Jaroslava (referee)
The master theses is concerned with the authenticity and veracity of actors’s utterance during the creation of characters from different genres. In the first part, the author relies on selected technical literature, through which we get acquainted with the ways actors can theoretically achieve the authenticity and veracity of their utterance using different well-known approaches to create the character. In the second part the theoretical knowledge is confronted with the author’s personal experience as a starting actor. The absolvent productions are used to demonstrate the author’s search for authenticity and veracity in different productions and genres during his work on the characters he embodied in the Disk theatre in the final year of his studies.

The work aims to examine the artistic expressionist tendency, manifested in expressionist drama and theater practice. In the first part, the author focuses on the origin and the direction of its general manifestations in arts and the historical context of expressionism. The author also attempts to highlight the features of expressionism in drama and contemplates the methods of expressionist artists in theater. In the second part, the author reflects his own experience of the production of an early expressionist text ''Spring’s Awakening''. He analyzes the text's dramaturgical potential and creates the basis for the theatrical production. He describes the creation of the staging as an audio-visual and scenic solution, where the particular focus is on the stylization of actors. Finally, the author tries to capture the essence of expressionism in a broader sense, as a peculiar way of expression for the artist.

THE BACCHAE, FAUST AND LADYBIRDS
Závodský, Norbert ; NEBESKÝ, Jan (advisor) ; BURIAN, Jan (referee)
This bachelor thesis focuses on themes like the collapse of the myth of God, crisis of faith and seeking God, as well as on way to stage them in a theatrical performance. The first part of this work tries to depict changes in a relationship between a man and God and their mutual combat. The chapter dealing with the cult of Dionysus shows a clash of the two fanaticisms; the religious and the rational one. The Faust chapter is concerned with the idea of free decision making and the difficulties and the possibility of a personal crisis this freedom might cause. The final chapter The Ladybirds opens the problematic of suffering of the innocent, which is the most common objection against the existence of God. The practical part of this work reflects on the school projects and the process of making. It also asks whether it is possible to stage themes like faith in one of the most atheistic nations in the world.

From dramatic theatre to alternative theatre of movement and back
Bílík, Aleš ; NEBESKÝ, Jan (advisor) ; KUDLÁČKOVÁ, Jana (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to highlight key moments based on the practical experience of a student of dramatic arts on his way to the theater. It tries to capture the contribution that was mainly formed by experiencing improvised and professional motion theater, and how these experiences shifted his perception of acting, which was until then mainly formed by the approaches taught in the Department of Dramatic Theatre. It also addresses the question of the extent to which the projects contributed to his actors' and personal self-knowledge. The following chapters try to show by what means it is possible to achieve complete freedom on stage and how to best assess the actors own personality. It analyzes the conditions necessary to achieve this creative freedom, as well as the phenomena that lead to the opposite. The actor's body is here perceived as a basal platform for self-knowledge. Since the thesis is based on personal experience and primarily deals with the student's self-reflection, it is written mainly in the first person singular.
Acting and Trust
Poulová, Marie ; NEBESKÝ, Jan (advisor) ; ŠIKTANCOVÁ, Jaroslava (referee)
The topic of the Thesis Acting and Trust is mainly the persuit of creative freedom. I will try to make the word ?trust?a key koncept, not just a vague expression. It should ideally only frame my work thematically rather than aiming for correlation in every chapter. The goal is not to reach a generally valid claim, which is not even possible due to the arbitrariness of the subject. I will try to formulate to which extent an actor is, or whether he/she even has the opportunity to be, an independent creator and to which extent the dependence on others and their decisions is actually frustrating. I would like my thesis to be conceived as a reflection on the sovereignty of acting as an artistic discipline.
Actor And Stylization In The Genre
Vaněk, Tomáš ; PAVELKA, Tomáš (advisor) ; NEBESKÝ, Jan (referee)
My thesis discusses not only an influence of dramatic genres and styles on the actor during creation of character and its performance, but also it is about options and differences in the acting stylisation, its understanding and theoretical overview. It is expressed here through my own experiences with examples of my work from my study on DAMU, my previous and following works in praxis. I'm trying to express my own opinion on styling actor in the genre, based on my experiences and I'm trying to figure out, how the experiences affected or could affect my creation.
Artistic and personal transformation during four year studies at the academy of performing arts
Pidrmanová, Jana ; Nebeský, Jan (advisor) ; Šťastný, Jan (referee)
My thesis with title: 'Artistic and personal transformation during four year studies at the academy of performing arts' is dedicated to various problems that I have encountered during studies. I'm focusing on themes like fear, shame, selfconfidence, humility, pride, sacrifice etc. Another section of the thesis is focused on so called ?actor's craft?, ie. external actor's technics like stage speach and gesture. In last section I'm trying to reflect woring and rehearsing in our school theatre. At the close of the thesis I'm speculating about a sense of acting school..
