Broadcaster's Online Services - Catch-up TV Phenomenon

The Master?s Thesis Television Broadcasters' On-line Services - The Catch-up TV Phenomenon reviews TV broadcasters' portals featuring TV catch-up services. The paper also addresses the delimitation of various video-on-demand models, which also include catch-up TV. Based on available research it charts the most important issues linked to this topic. It also addresses user habits, advertisement sales in on-line video and a part of the paper also specifies the position of professional video content against user generated video on the Internet. The most important US and UK catch-up TV portals are also analyzed. In its case study the thesis addresses BBC's Catch-up service, the iPlayer. In conclusion the paper shortly evaluates such portals in the Czech Republic.
