The main objective of this work is to test and evaluate the suitability of use and optimal configuration of communication protocols in the context of the latest implementations of mobile technologies for IoT, namely LTE-M (Long-Term Evolution Machine Type Communication) and NB-IoT (Narrowband Internet of Things). This thesis investigates and evaluates the current communication protocols for the Internet of Things (IoT), focusing on LTE-M and NB-IoT. It includes a theoretical perspective on IoT, description of mobile technologies and analysis of protocols such as MQTT, CoAP and LwM2M. A practical part is devoted to testing and optimization of these protocols. This thesis deals with software development for STM32WL55-JC1 MCU. Development kit was chosen primarily bacause of its LPWAN possibilities. Final prototype communicates on LoRaWAN network. Data are sent through public network from The Things Network, these data are concentrations of carbon dioxide, temperatures and carbon dioxide flux. Data are also backed up locally on SD card along with timestamp. The software was designed with the use of the chamber measurement method in mind, which is also described in the text.
Signal propagation modeling for LPWA communication technologies
Pekárková, Kateřina ; Mašek, Pavel (referee) ; Možný, Radek (advisor)
At present, the area of LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network) wireless communication technologies is developing very dynamically, where the number of connected devices is rapidly increasing and thus the need to ensure implementation. An important part of the design and testing of a possible implementation of such an LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) network is the modeling of signal propagation in a given environment to ensure sufficient signal coverage. This work deals with the study of LPWAN wireless communication technologies operating in both the unlicensed frequency band and the licensed frequency band. In the practical part, the work focuses on the simulation of signal propagation using the simulation tool Wireless InSite, where the communication parameters were set according to WM-BUS (Wireless Meter Bus) technology.
Universal Tester of Radio Conditions for Narrowband IoT Communication Technology
Možný, Radek ; Štůsek, Martin (referee) ; Mašek, Pavel (advisor)
Technology Narrowband IoT is a representative LPWA (Low Power Wide Area) tech-nology that due to its promising features aims for demands of the Internet of Thingsapplications for autonomous data sending from sensors in areas of poor mobile coverage. For such applications, it is beneficial to firstly map properties of communication technol-ogy in areas of intended use and evaluate whether or not is this technology applicable. This Master thesis deals with the design of the hand-held measuring device for evaluationof Narrowband IoT properties. The output of this thesis is firstly comparison of LPWAtechnologies secondly, design of the mentioned device and verification of its functional-ity. And in last part description of measurement of transmission delay for delay-tolerantapplications. Transmission delay is a critical parameter for delay-tolerant applications.Such an application can be, for example, smart electrometers for which there is definedmaximal allowed transmission delay of 10 seconds and therefore it is desirable to evalu-ate whether or not is the deployment of the communication technology Narrowband IoTsuitable in the intended area for delay-tolerant or even for delay-intolerant applications.
Experimental workplace for research of car speed limiters
Kubát, Michal ; Možný, Radek (referee) ; Pokorný, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis deals with the issue of remote vehicle speed limitation. The aim of this work is to develop an experimental workplace where the speed limitation using connection to CAN bus will be tested. In the theoretical part, a research on existing solutions of speed limiters is conducted and their protocols and technologies are described. The theoretical part also includes a research and description of possible threats and attacks on technology ITS-G5. The practical part deals with the development of the experimental workplace that consists of an OBD-II simulator and a transmitter. The OBD-II simulator includes Arduino UNO and add-on modules, its communication is realised via CAN bus. Transmitter includes Arduino NANO. Then, a wireless communication between a transmitter and an OBD-II simulator on 433 MHz and the wireless speed adjustments are developed. Finally, the IVIM message is designed and implemented for car speed limitation. Its structure was selected according to ISO standards for communication in ITS-G5 technology. The implementation of this message was tested on an OBD-II simulator. On the whole, a complete experimental workplace was assembled, and its manual was created.
Risk analysis in conformity assesment process
Možný, Radek ; Teš, Vasilij (referee) ; Koška, Petr (advisor)
When presenting a product within the so-called regulated sphere the producer is obliged to keep to the given legal liabilities of the technical product requirements and the governmental regulations concerned. The producer is also to carry out an analysis of the technical requirements and specifications of the product. Subsequently, the producer also has to provide the technical specifications and documentation for preparation of ES declaration, guaranteeing that the product fulfills the CE requirements. The task is to design and set up documentation for the ES declaration for Polymount printer cleaning machines PPC mini, PPC M2, PPC L2 and PPC XL2.

Implementation and Performance Evaluation of the LoRaWAN Communication Technology Utilizing the NS-3
Bahna, Martin ; Možný, Radek (referee) ; Mašek, Pavel (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with an implementation of the LoRaWAN wireless network within the NS-3 simulation environment. The thesis defines IoT in general, together with its technologies and types of communication between devices. Subsequently, the LPWAN technology is outlined, as well as its requirements and protocols that are most widely used with this technology. The thesis then describes the LoRaWAN technology in detail, its layers, network architecture and security. The practical part of this thesis sheds some light on the NS-3 simulation environment and the most suitable LoRaWAN module that was selected from the available ones. The chosen module is described in detail and imported to the NS-3 simulation environment. Two simulation scenarios are then performed. The first scenario is focused on the impact created by increasing the number of end devices in the network. The second scenario is focused on the impact created by increasing the distance between the end device and the gateway. The results of the simulations are recorded in the tables which are then used to display the given results in graphs. Last chapter deals with module modification where new frequency bands are implemented and theoretical setup of duplex and encrypted communication is described.
