Integration of Users and Services in Academic Libraries

The work describes the complex of activities of a public university library as of a place of integration of the system's basic elements - services and users. The partial library is described in the context of its surroundings. After introducing the problems of university libraries, second charter provides an overview of Czech public university libraries their legislative basis, organizational and managerial models and their mutual cooperation. In the next section a description of the current system of Charles University libraries follows the historical introduction. A crucial part of this work brings an analysis of one of the libraries -The Masaryk Library of Social Sciences in Jinonice. An interpretation of the results of library users' satisfaction surveys follows next, including particular outputs. Chapters 5 and 6 deal with the perspectives of the Masaryk Library of Social Sciences and Charles University library system, including suggestions of new services and activities that could increase the quality of service. In the end the conditions of survival of libraries in the coming years are described.

The purpose of this bachelor thesis Information needs of the students of Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship at the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts, Charles University in Prague is detection of using of information resources for study at Institute of Information Studies and Librarianship. It deals with the question of relationship between students and the Masaryk Library of Social Sciences in Jinonice. The thesis describes the methods of research that were used and analyses the outcoming data reached by the sociological research.
