Authenticity of Czech literature in the 1990's
V příspěvcích do literárních časopisů diskutovali o významu autora pro autentické dílo, o možnostech recipienta, o pravdivém záznamu reality v textu a především o postavení soudobé literární kritiky. V neposlední řadě se diskuse dotkla i díla Ludvíka Vaculíka, který stojí na samém počátku diskusí o autenticitě. Problém autenticity je velmi široký a rozsáhlý, omezíme ho tedy...
Semiotic analysis of particular cosmetic products'commercials
Malá, Zuzana ; Šoltys, Otakar (advisor) ; Klabíková Rábová, Tereza (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with semiotics (the study of signs) in audiovisual commercials. In its theoretical part it is engaged in the field of semiotics. At this point it investigates mainly the problems of a sign, the key element of semiotics. Furthermore it follows the development of the knowledge acquired through semiotics to other areas of research which help to detect the meanings of communication. Those areas are the levels of signification, thus denotation, connotation and myth. This chapter especially draws on Roland Barthes and his publication Mythology, which inspired this diploma thesis. The theoretical part continues by explanation of the main problems of commercial. It gives out the definition of a commercial, explains commercial as a communication process, but also depicts the strategies used in a commercial. Furthermore it tells about conceptualization of a commercial by Jean Baudrillard. Since the thesis analyses audiovisual commercials, it also deals with the sound and picture of a commercial. In its practical part the thesis continues with the analysis of seven audiovisual cosmetic products' commercials itself. Semiotic analysis is done according to Barthes' model. The thesis describes each commercial's story, scene, and sounds, and then analyses those elements as well as the...
The Hidden Avant-Garde. Czech Avant-Garde Fiction between Individualism and Collectivism
Malá, Zuzana ; Janoušek, Pavel (advisor) ; Hrbata, Zdeněk (referee) ; Flaišman, Jiří (referee)
in English This work focuses on the Czech afterwar avant-garde and its fiction in the wider European context. The main goal of our writing was diversifying literary historical field by integrating genre of short story and its authors into the interpretive frame of the prepoetistic avant-garde. We could intrude a canonic picture of the Czech avant-garde by enriching the interpretive frame of the new genre (short story) and new, often hardly known or forgotten, writers. Last but not least by doing so we were able to questioned and problematized basic oppositions such as expressionism × avant-garde, and mainly individualism × collectivism. We introduce the principal opposition individualism × collectivism, which in our opinion, organizes afterwar literary discourse, as a main connecting line between Czech avant-garde art and European art (collective and one of its manifestation - crowd, as one of the main themes of modernism and avant-garde). We interpretate beyond this scope the fictions of French unanimism as the main inspiration of the Czech afterwar avan-garde and its (collective) fiction as well.

Malá, Zuzana ; Císař, Jan (advisor) ; Bergman, Aleš (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to make an introduction to performing activities of ensembles in which youth (in age of cca 13-21) are involved and which are led by adult teachers/directors. I am trying to find out their specifics, put them in context of related fields, such as theatre education, amateur theatre, experiential education etc. I?m focusing on the role of the teacher, which combines educative, artistic, organizing and other tasks. In a chapter on dramaturgy I?m examining the choice of proper theme and following processes with it. There are 4 dramaturgical standards being laid out, as well as some notes on theatre activism and the relationship between dramatic theatre and a spontaneous performance. I am trying to denominate the teenagers´ motivation to the theatre work and also some examples of benefits, that performing activities can bring them. Beside the literature there are two sources of information used in the thesis: interviews with drama teachers and interviews with youth actors. As an example of practice of youth ensemble I am offering OLDstars ensemble, where I recently work.
Theatre on the road, audience in movement.
Malá, Zuzana ; Císař, Jan (advisor) ; Etlík, Jaroslav (referee)
The aim of the bachelor thesis "Theatre on the Road, Audience in Movement", is to open up the topic of theatre projects that use walking spectators and work with phenomenon of being on a road. The ambition is not to give a full overview on the subject. I am focusing on such performances´ social point and their specific qualities and meanings. I am interested in performance as an event placed in concrete time and concrete location, having also meaningful paratheatrical aspects. I am trying to use my practical experience as much as possible - both as spectator and active participant. In three chapters I talk mainly about spectator's activity and activation; about forms of manipulation in theatre and about theatrical space and space relationships. In each partial topic I am trying to find what is special and distinctive for the "theatre on the road". The central point of the thesis is a spectator set in a situation.
