This diploma thesis 'Mary's Montessori School in the Czech Republic and abroad' in its first part summarizes basic topics of Montessori's education concept and focuses on their implementation in some selected countries. This part of the diploma thesis derives from the studies of professional literature. The second part of the diploma thesis which is based on my research which was done in the nursery and at the first stage of primary schools. My goal was to check the influence of Montessori's education in specific areas of the developement of children. The research focused on four parts especially independence, application of knowledge in practice, understanding of the world in a broader context and communication abilities of children aged 5 to 10 years who are educated by Montessori's pedagogical concept. The research had the objective of evaluation of the impact of Mary's Montessori education on the development of children in these four specific areas.
